There were only a few scribbled notes, but Kiego didn't get the preparation in that he usually did. The sushi date must have interrupted him.
After a few moments, the water shut off and Kia came out in a slim t-shirt and her slacks with her hair wrapped in a towel. She smiled as she sat down beside him, "what are you looking at?"
Kiego grinned as the cute girl sat down next to him.
"Yeah, this is just some notes for my classes today. I don't have as much as I usually do, but they're mostly just guidelines so I should be fine." He then showed her some of the scribbling he had been working on.
OOC: I am sooooo busy lately, sorry, I got so much this month.
She watched him with the same curiousness that she exhibited when she ate sushi for the first time. She said nothing, but he could tell that she found him quite amusing.
Kiego eyed Kia as he abruptly underlined the word "Myosotis", and then abruptly closed his notebook.
"Kia, it's about time for us to get going. We can get breakfast right at the museum. Are you okay with spending the rest of the day there? I can meet you back here at the end of the day."
"Really don't worry about it, unless you have something you'd rather do..."
Kiego looked at the clock, and his eyes widened a bit, "Well...we really should be going, you know how kids are when you leave them alone. They get stupid...So the museum then?"
Kia nodded excitedly, "let's be off. And Kiego, if you ever get some time off, you could come to my home and I'll offer you the same hospitality. Sound like a plan?"
"Of course I would love to." Kiego answered Kia happily. He made a mental note to check the calendar when he would be off work next. Kiego then gathered his work together, and lead Kia out of his apartment, towards the muesam. Hopefully they would make good time, the last thing he wanted to do was be late.
The walk was short and Kia smiled the entire time, making no effort to hide the fact that she was a tourist. People began to look at Kiego differently; not as a man who was waling alone anymore, but rather as one who was showing an attractive female around the city. It was welcome change.
Before long, they arrived at the museum. Kia stared at the tall arches in fascination and bewilderment as she accidentally bumped into Kiego.
Kiego caught her gently, blushing a little at being so close to her again.
"Wow, watch out!" he said jokingly. "Alright, so here's the museum. If you get hungry I think there are some good places about a block down. Am I forgetting anything?"
"Uhh...." pondered the girl, tucking her hair behind her pale ear, "I don't think so. Thanks so much again... you've been great." The girl leaned forward and hugged him tightly before waving him off, "have a good day, Kiego! I'll see you later!"
Kiego hugged her tightly, smiling as she pulled away, "See you Kia!"
And with that Kia was gone, and Kiego was left alone on the streets of the city. Gathering himself once again, he headed toward the Rodek Institute, watching the busy people pass him by.
The walk wasn't far. All the important institutions were fairly close together; the museum was not far from the academy and the Immortalis' chambers weren't far from the school. Kiego arrive at the door with a few moments to spare as the students began filing in, a couple of them nodding at him politely.
Kiego placed his pack and notes on his desk, looking at all of the students who had managed to enter the class early. He then glanced at his notes one more time to remind himself what they had covered in the last class.
It was still early in the school year and he had taught the students about different non-visible signs of telling if a plant was healthy or not. The lesson had gone well and he got some wonderful feedback from his students.
As he reviewed his notes, the bell rang from outside. His students would be arriving any moment now.
Kiego smiled as he surveyed all of his students. Teaching had brought him real joy in his life, and everyday he spent with the kids, the surer he was that this was the career path for him.
"Hey guys, hope last night's homework didn't give you too much trouble. Anybody got anything interesting to share before we get down to business?" He said as he took a seat at his desk.
"Yeah" interrupted a young girl, known for being one of the more popular and gregarious students in the building, "looks like our prof has some arm candy." She winked at the teacher, "so, what's the deal?"
Her comments made everyone chuckle quietly as a murmur of laughter filled the room and he felt what seemed like every set of eyes staring at him.
Kiego couldn't help himself from laughing out loud, "Well, it may surprise you, but we teachers do actually have a social life. Hopefully if you spend as much time studying for the test next week as you do worrying about my acquaintances, you'll get an A."
Kiego then looked around to see if everyone had been seated yet.
Everyone snickered as they talked quietly amongst themselves, making a dull hum spread across the room. Kiego noticed a few empty seats but the final bell had already sounded. This was his favourite part of his day; the few moments he had to let his classroom talk before he commanded their attention.
"Alright class, now that everyone is here we can finally get started. Now, remember yesterday's homework was to read the Prologue of Dr. Mihana's book...can anyone give me a quick summary?"
Kiego got out his own copy of the book, then scanned the class for an answer.
A young man replied swiftly, "he was hypothesizing about the effect of accendo on the growth patterns of plants. He was carrying out experiments with plants placed in places with vastly different concentrations of accendo to see how they developed."
"That's right, Mihana's whole life's work emphasized growth and how it was affected by outside forces, especially accendo. also don't forget that different kinds of plants would also react differently to different concentrations of accendo. Say for example, a Venus flytrap would react differently than an oak tree."
Kiego continued the discussion on Mihana's work, taking questions and fostering conversation with the whole class. "Today we're also going to begin a project with forget-me-nots, exploring Mihana's hypothesis. Each of you is going to receive one, take it home, and attempt it to manipulate it in some of the particualr ways that I have listed on the sheets I'll pass out. Can anyone tell me why we're using forget-me-nots?"
The students looked around with none of them speaking, apparently not knowing the answer. The sassy one that had spoken at the beginning of the class chuckled, "so you can give the successful projects to your girlfriend?"
Kiego's eyebrows furrowed as he tried to keep in a laugh, "not exactly."
He smiled, "The forget-me-not was one of the plants Mihana spent most of his time with. the small pollen makes it highly susceptible to accendo for some reason...haha, and they are quite appealing, maybe I'll take some to this 'girlfriend' all of you guys keep talking about after the project is done."
"Alright, the flowers are in greenhouse closet B-6 you can get at them before you leave today, I've got sheets up at the desk, feel free to work on it until class is over."

As he waited for Kia, he began to look over his discussion notes, making sure he would teach his class in the clearest way possible.
