MTG Salvation

After a few sleepless moments, Kiego got used to the rhythmic thumping coming from the other room and finally went to sleep, dreaming only of lilacs and ear massages.

Kiego awoke as the sunlight hit his eyes. The bonsai tree glimmered in the new day's sun and thankfully, all signs of giggling and thumping had stopped.

Ahhh, morning...time for school

Kiego rubbed his eyes briefly, then slowly pushed himself off the mattress, still slightly lethargic. After a quick yawn, he made his way towards the bathroom to brush his teeth, then afterwords he would get dressed for work.

The washroom door was closed and locked with the sound of someone brushing their teeth coming from the other side.

Kiego knocked on the door, wondering who, out of all the people spending the night, was using the bathroom.

Marche opened the door with a toothbrush in his mouth. An attractive blonde was standing beside him, 'dressed' in a towel. His roommate took the toothbrush out and smiled, "hey bud... we'll be out in a sec. You know... unless you need to use the washroom urgently."

Eying the blonde girl, Kiego snickered, and then answered his roommate,"No...I'll wait a bit, just going to get ready for school..."

He thought he might as well get dressed for work, then see what Kia was planning to do with herself for the rest of the day.

As he retreated from the bathroom, he caught a glimpse of Kia folding up some blankets and struggling to work the pull-out sofa-bed.

"Hey, good morning Kia, how are you doing today?"

She smiled as she gave up trying to fold in the bed, "I'm great... how was your sleep?"

"I slept well..." Kiego then went over to help her put way the bed, reaching for a button that made it collapse easily.

"So, do you have any plans for today? I can take you somewhere before I head off to work."

Kia grinned, "that would be lovely. When do you have to work?"

"Oh, I need to be at the Institute at around 8:30...so if we hurry I could show you where a museum or something is."

The sofa bed was now securely under control, and Kiego begun putting the seat cushions back in their original places.

"Sure" she replied with a smile before looking him over, "but you might want to put on more than just your underwear." She giggled and pretended to shield her eyes, though her face was growing rather red.

"Oh!"

Kiego hadn't realized it was a bit awkward with him only wearing boxers, and quickly became as red as Kia. He promptly made his way back into his room to change into his school clothes, as well as pack his work bag with whatever he would need for the day.

When he returned to the living room, Kia was sitting quietly and looked up at him, "ah, much better. Once again, I just want to thank you so very much for letting me stay here."

"No problem...tell me when your ready and we can get some breakfast somewhere."

Kiego then sat down on the couch, waiting patiently for Marche to be done with the bathroom.

Before she could respond, Marche walked in the room with the blonde. He waved to politely to Kia, "nice to meet you, Kia." With that, the roommate left apartment with the girl.
Kia laughed as she turned to Kiego, "so did I hear three girls' voices last night?"

Kiego stood up to make his way to the bathroom, "Oh yeah, that kid is crazy. I wonder where the other two are..."

"They snuck out last night" smiled Kia, "so I didn't ruin your night if you had similar plans..."

Kiego just laughed as he pulled himself into the bathroom and closed the door. He would quickly brush his teeth, etc. and then prepare himself to leave for the morning.

Kia was sitting quietly while she waited for him to finish in the washroom. When he emerged, she smiled politely, "I'm sorry if I'm wasting your time... but would you mind if I showered and brushed my teeth this morning. You know... germs... I'm really sorry"

"No problem, we still have about and hour left before I have to be in school, just make sure to hurry up, alright?"

"Thanks" smiled Kia as she quickly moved into the washroom, leaving it open just a crack. Kiego couldn't help but wonder if it was intentional or not as he heard the water starting in the shower.

Kiego sat on the sofa, thinking about the day ahead of him. He'd probably just point Kia in the directions of some tourist attractions before he headed off to the institute. As he waited for Kia to finish, he decided to look in his bag for his school schedule, to see what classes he would be teaching today.

Oddly, he only had two classes to teach today and a late-afternoon meeting to attend.
As he looked over his notebook, he caught a whiff of the beautiful lilac scent, making him wish he were in the washroom smelling all of it.
