Kia nodded, "sushi sounds great. Lead the way, Kiego." As they walked, Kiego observed that the girl looked at even the most mundane things, from the buildings that lined the roads to the things people were wearing. It seemed like every little thing fascinated her.
Kiego smiled some more as he turned back around, She really is an interesting one.
Leading the way out into the city street, he made a left, making sure Kia was always with him. "We have a sofa-bed back at the apartment, so really, don't worry about being a burden. But, I will warn you about my roommate, he can be...I guess you could say he's...charismatic."
"Well...not too many," Kiego said laughing, "but, he gets around. Don't worry though, he's a pretty cool guy once you get to know him."
Both of them finally came to a small restaurant that had a sign the said "Mama's Sushi" in large letters. Through the large windows an old woman can be seen making sushi for customers waiting in line, as well as a few patrons sporadically seated in tables around the establishment. It wasn't too busy, but there was a good amount of people enjoying some dinner.
A short, middle aged woman with a note pad in her hand came over to them, looking rather frazzled by a long day of work. She smiled politely at the two of them, "good evening. Just a table for two?"
"Oh, don't worry it's real good. You may freak out a bit at first because it's raw fish, but it's real flavorful. This place has some good tea and noodles as well if your feeling less adventurous."
Both Kia and Kiego were seated in a booth now, and Kiego started to fidget with the menu as he talked.
The waitress came as they spoke and placed a pot of tea down before tending to some of the other customers.
Kia peered at the menu before looking up at him with a perplexed look on her face, "sorry... my reading isn't as good as my speaking quite yet. How about you order and I'll just have whatever you're having?"
Kiego's face became just as perplexed as Kia's at that comment. "Oh so Nomeni(English?) isn't your first language? Oh, and I'm going to have some tuna maki...you should get some noodles too just in case you don't like it."
OOC: (It's just English. Language is one of the rare things both nations share)
"Sure" she said happily before losing her smile and hesitantly explaining, "well... no. You see, where I come from is rather... remote... we don't have much exposure to text..."
"Wow...you mean...your just learning to read? That's...awful...everyone should learn to read when their young, it opens up doors to...sorry I'm babbling, it's just an oddity you know?"
She shook her head, "well I can read... other things. It's really hard to explain." It was fairly obvious she was hiding something and didn't think he would have implored further, "just forget I said anything, alright?" The girl was blushing as she looked at a bottle of sauce on the table nervously.
"We only eat fresh plants at home" she proudly boasted, "and we know how to pick the most delicious ones." As she spoke, Kiego could swear he could feel her happiness, as though he were somehow connected to her through the accendo.
"Wow, so a true herbivore right? Your in for a tasty surprise when you try some of the fish, at least I hope so," he answered her as he began to laugh.
"Having pride in your home is a very important thing, I admire you for that."
She smiled, "thank you... maybe one day I'll take you there." The girl winked before the waitress returned, "sorry about the delay... we're a little short staffed today." Kiego could see a bead of sweat on her brow, a sign she had been slightly overworked, "what can I get you this evening?"
"We'll both be having some tuna maki, and a small bowl of noodles as well."
Kiego watched the overworked woman hurry off to the kitchens, and then turned his attention back to Kia. "Heh, I think I really would like to see the kind of place you live. It seems so exotic."
She nodded, "I assure you that it's unlike anything you've ever seen before." Kia leaned forward slightly, smiling wide, "and seeing as you're letting me stay with you, it's the least I could do to repay you."
"Wow...that is probably some vacation destination. I'll definitely call you up when the autumn break starts at the institute. I'm sure my students would love to hear about plants from exotic places."
Despite the smile on her face, Kiego could feel that she was actually quite nervous now. It was a bizarre sensation to feel this girl's presence and the only time he could ever feel like he was living through something else is when he practiced his abilities with the accendo on plants.
"Popular?" she asked with a whimsical tone, "it's the only kind of magic we can master... but we are the best at what we do. No offense to you, though." Kia stuck out her tongue playfully, making Kiego wonder just how powerful she really was.
"Oh really? That's quite interesting...a whole entire community of wood adepts. Maybe my parents could see about retiring there; they're also wood adepts."
Kiego thought about how his father was getting old, and how nice it would be for him to spend the rest of his days away from the war-crazed city, and in a nice, plant loving community.

Kiego then promptly changed the subject, hoping to past the time quickly until the food came. "So...what kind of food do you like?"
