Jaret’s emotions were never too extreme… he tried to remain calm and collected but this speech had some excitement brewing in him. His hands grabbed a piece of cloth from shirt, conjuring water to wet it and gently pat the sweat from his forehead. “Excuse me, sir?” a short girl asked. She was about his age but clearly had money, wearing an elegant green gown and a silver pendant that dipped just below the neckline of her v-neck. “I noticed that you can conjure water… may you please wet a cloth for me as well?”
Jaret took a long look at the girl, sure she was pretty enough aww what the hell, why not he thought "umm... sure" he managed to stammer out geez, i've got to work on that, talking to people, they'll think i'm some kind of weirdo he took a cloth out of his pocket and summoned some water, dampening the cloth " err.... here you go" he said, handing the cloth to her
She patted down her cheeks which were flushed from her heat and pulled a sleeve back to wipe off her arms which had been perspiring due to the closeness of the people around her. A long scar ran up her arm and she quickly pulled down her sleeve to hide it. "Thank you, my dear gentleman" said the girl, beaming with appreciation.
Jadyn couldn't help but notice the scar, but he said nothing, not simply because he was being polite, but because he found himself incapable to speak for the moment, after a short pause, he finally stammered out "you're...welcome"
"For someone who can conjure water and manipulate water so well, you sure do perspire a lot" she said as she brushed off his nervousness and dabbed his forehead with the wet cloth. "May I ask who you are?"
"And I am Ellyana" she replied as she took his hand. She closed her eyes and conjured some seeds into his palm. "I do hope we meet again" she said as she curtsied an walk away with surreal elegance.
He hadn't realized that the speech had been over for a little while ago. Apparently Ellyana had captured his attention while people left the clearing where the speech was held.
Out of his peripherals, he could see trouble brewing as two adepts, older than him, had trapped a younger woman in a whirlwind of fire and mud. They taunted her, calling her crude synonyms for a 'promiscuous and morally objectionable individual'.
Jaret couldn't stand to see this, so he formed balls of water in his hands and tossed them at the other adepts until they turned around, saying "hey, pick on someone of your own skill, i'll take both of you!" he motioned to the girl for her to run
She attempted to flee but the earth adept forced her to the ground and bound her limbs with dirt, making it unable for her to move. The fire adept was quickly angered, as most fire adepts are and his hands were already ablaze, "stay out of this! Do you even know her?!"
The fire adept flinched as steam raised from where the droplets landed, "What if I told you she deserved it? Would you still be willing to put your ass on the line?"
The earth adept shielded them both with an improvised mud formation before speaking, "She deserves it more than you could know, brother. Would you like to know why she deserves it?"
ooc: uh-oh, PurpleD, what have you done
"why, what has she done that could deserve this?" Jaret asks, but in more of a yell, although, he sounds more reasonable
The young woman's expression was one of utter desperation but there was mud restraining her ability to speak. In many ways, she was very pretty but had a look about her that suggested that she made many mistakes that she regrets to this day. She was short and slender with darker skin. It may have just been her bone structure, but she looked like she hadn't eaten in weeks.
As the earth adept began telling her story, the woman squirmed and tears welled in her eyes. "Let's just say that she had no respect for herself or our people. She's a s**t and nothing but" he said, turning to her chuckling, clearly impressed by his awful rhyme.
"great, just great, i was hoping i wouldn't have to do this, but" Jaret mutters under his breath, he shoots out two more streams at the earth adept, keeping them going if the adept raises a earthen wall
Both adepts were about to strike back when something shot out of the ground, up through their bodies and spurted out of their head.Their lifeless bodies stood transfixed, skewered on two solid plants, blood trickling down the stalks and polling around their disfigured feet. Jaret stood in shock for several moments before looking at the girl. She had broken free of her bindings, and her eyes were filled with utter hate.
She stood, awestruck at her own power and didn't hear what Jaret had said. Utterly transfixed and horrified, she stammered, "I...I... I've never done that before." The girl looked up at Jaret with submissive desperation in her eyes, "We have to go!"
"geez, i never run into the simple ones do I?" Jaret said, "all right, but with you in that condition, it'll be better if i carry you" he says, whether she protests or not, he flings her over his shoulder like a sack of grain "where to?" he goes in whichever direction she points him in
She was too bewildered to object, but did wonder why on Disegreth he insisted on carrying her. "Wha--" she was about to protest but realized the urgency of the situation, "AWAY! I... I can't be caught."
“Excuse me, sir?” a short girl asked. She was about his age but clearly had money, wearing an elegant green gown and a silver pendant that dipped just below the neckline of her v-neck. “I noticed that you can conjure water… may you please wet a cloth for me as well?”
