Styl's target stood by her window, combing her hair as she looked longingly out the window. It was a foolish move on her behalf, but then again, she didn't know that someone wanted to kill her. Why would she suspect anything? The only reason why Styl wanted her dead was because she vaguely resembled one of the people who killed his mother. Not that he ever really needed a reason.
The girl was startled as she saw him. She had been caught in a trance for a moment and she didn't notice him walking up. Styl's target had bright blonde hair with piercing green eyes. She was dressed in a thin, lose light-blue nightgown and guessing her age would have been nearly impossible. She was tall but had a young face. The rest of her body, however, was fairly well 'developed'. As she opened the window, she covered herself timidly, "yes?"
She swallowed as he approached her. Her hand lifted up and grabbed his wrist, not like someone who was trying to fight for her life, but like someone who was trying to console him. The girl gently rubbed his forearm, "please don't do this... I can help you."
"Whoever you are... you don't want to do this" she pleaded as her hand gently rubbed his, not forcefully but instead like she cared about him a great deal, "if you're getting paid to do this, I can pay you more. For whatever reason you feel like you need to do this, I can help you through it. Please don't make this mistake. Please!"
Though he was pressing against her with enough force to draw blood, her skin did not break and she didn't seem very afraid, her hand still gently caressing his, "pleasure? You take pleasure out of this? Please, let me help you. I know many many ways of bringing people pleasure and I assure you that killing isn't one of them."
She stood up, staring into his eyes. Her own eyes were a bright blue and they were captivating as she spoke, "whatever you want, I will do for you... just please stop hurting people. Violence is not the only way. I'm here to help you in any way you can think of, friend..."
The girl made her way in front of him. She was short but still looked down at Styl, "well... I get pleasure from helping other people. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing a smile on someone else's face. I'm sorry to say, sir, but your smile doesn't bring me happiness. It's a liiiittle bit creepy. How can I help you put a real smile on your face?"
She cried out and tears welled up in her eyes but no blood came out of her body. She moved back and sat on her bed, tears rolling down her face. The only sign of her stabbing was a hole in her night gown as the girl yelled out, "ouch! That hurt! Why would you do that!"
The girl stood up, coughing and crying as she jumped on top of Styl, forcing him to the ground with surprising strength, "why did you do that?! That hurts so much! How would you like it if I pushed a knife into YOU?!"
She pressed her body against his, "but not cold as in you're not a happy person. Your heart is cold like... like you have given up on it a long time ago. Why is that? How can you not appreciate the beauty and love in this world?"
Tears started to well up in her eyes again as she yelled, "No, I don't agree! Sir, why are you so cruel? What made you give up your heart? I will find out eventually, so I think it would be best for both of us if you just told me."
The girl trembled as she placed her hands on the sides of Styl's head. Her hands were warm as she closed her eyes and let the visions come.
It was so sudden as the images of his parents' brutal murder played back in front of his eyes. Styl screamed out as buried memories resurfaced, suppressed emotions returned and all the familiar sensations of horror and disbelief flooded through his body. His knelt in front of him, facing each other and saying 'I love you' to each other for the last time as a long spear impaled both of them. It was the last time Styl had every felt pain.
She stammered, "you said you'd like to see me try and... well... I read your thoughts. I had to find out why your heart was so cold and... now I understand. If you'd just let me, I could help you, Styl." The girl dropped to her knees in front of him and threw her arms around his neck, embracing him tightly, "please, Styl... I'm here for you."
She moved on her knees, desperately trying to connect with the assassin, "please, Styl. I know it's not easy to deal with this all of the sudden, but it would be so much easier if you had someone to share it with. Open your heart, Styl! I know there's capacity for compassion somewhere within you."
The girl didn't budge, standing defiantly in front of Styl. Her eyes pleaded that she wanted to help his direct all of his immense skills to a more productive cause. It was bizarre for Styl to see someone who actually looked like she cared about him. With ironic pain, he realized that last people to do so were his parents.
The girl reached out, trying to console him but not touching him for fear of an outburst, "I no longer seek knowledge. I want to heal your cold heart, Styl. I want you to let the past rest and embrace your life."
The image of the spear impaling his parent flashed in front of his eyes again as the girl tried to offer her support, "but you're not fine... you're in pain. You don't want to admit it but deep down it really hurts you to be so cold. Don't be afraid to feel pain, Styl. It's an important step to moving on."
The girl gasped as he fell and sat down by his side, patting his back and whispering, "Styl, I'm so sorry. Just let it all out and if there's any way I can help you, I will. You name it and I'll do it. I just want to see you be happy again."
She wrapped her arms around him and tears began to form in her eyes, "I'm sorry but I can't do that. You were the one who made yourself so cold and loveless and you can make yourself like that again... but please don't. You're a good person, Styl and you have so much potential. Please, just tell me what's wrong and open your heart."
With her arms still wrapped around him, she tried to do her best to get through to him, "how can I make you love and live again, Styl? What can I do to make you see that there's much more to life for you?"
