OOC: Is it too late to sign up?
Edit: Whoa didn't realize those bandits orphaned so many people also most people have some sort of sentimental jewelry, if you don't want me to be the Xth orphan with a ring/necklace let me know and I will come up with a new background
Name: Ien Leafstrider prefers to be called Bren
Age: 17, looks a little older
Height: 4'2"
Weight: 95
Race: Halfling
Appearance: Bren is somewhat tall for a halfling. He has short black hair, fair skin and brown eyes. He is somewhat limber for a halfling, but has a hardness about him strange for his age.
Apparel: a brown tunic, leather breeches and a black hooded cloak.
Personality: Bren is very sullen and generally cold and distant. He appreciates a good prank or joke and nowadays those are the only things which make him laugh. When he does laugh you can see a little of the halfling he used to be.
Background: Ien Leafstirder, son of Menna and Shar, was a happy, joyous young boy the pride and joy of his parents lives. He lived a sheltered life in a small house in the country. He spent most of his time with his parents and had little contact with the outside world. He loved to learn and enjoyed every aspect of the world around him. All that changed two years ago.
Shortly after his fifteenth birthday Ien was exploring some caves by his house when he heard a commotion at home. He began to make his way back to his house when he heard the following:
Menna: Go away you ruffians we don't have anything of value here.
Ruffian 1: That's not what I hear. I hear you two used to be expert thieves in fact I happen to know that you were because you stole from me and my gang several years back. Now we're here to take our revenge.
Ien started to make his way towards his house when his father noticed him and motioned for him to head back to the caves. Ien reluctantly retreated to the caves to wait for his parents. He heard a large boom and saw a huge light coming from the direction of his house. The next day he returned to where his house used to be. All that was left was the small ring he now carries, tossed aside by the bandits, and the broken charred corpses of his late parents. He retreated into the caves where he spent the next year living alone mourning the death of his parents. When he turned sixteen he left to go see the world. Doing odd jobs to get by for the next year calling himself Bren. Then he heard of the company and decided to sign up.

To him,
Nothing has worth
Unless it belongs
To someone else.
It is not the lust for wealth
That drives him
Simply the hunter's thrill,
And the moment
Of acquisition.
Nothing is truly your own.
It is his –
Whether you know it or not.

The "P" in my name comes from a magicthegathering.com article in which they were contemplating adding a sixth color to Magic for Planar Chaos. here is a link to that article
Name: Rio Korlis
Age: 22 (looks 22) Height: 6'1
Weight: 190 lbs.
Race: Human
Appearance: Rio is a man of medium build with eyes that change colors between green and blue depending on his mood, health, and the weather. His hair is short yet scraggly, curly brown that covers his ears and most of his forehead. He has a lot of stubble due to a lack of shaving...and his fingernails are very dirty. Rio does bathe, he just works hard quite often and looks somewhat worn all the time.
Apparel: Rio wears a blue tunic tucked into black pants with brown leather pant greaves. He has leather fingerless gloves that he wears that match his greaves.
Personality: Rio is a nonchalant man who carries a stoic outlook on life. He is very laid back and almost always trivial about all things serious. If he reacts to something in a serious tone, then it must be something immensely important. He has always been independent and has weary thoughts on being a subordinate for long... Background: Rio has been a street rat most of his life. Living off the land and the less observant merchants, he found solace as a thief and vagabond orphan. But as he grew up and became a more conspicuous person and a more notorious thief, Rio was forced to find a regular job and joined a mercenary troupe.

You're still shooting for the stars, here. Keep swordsmanship, choose one between sleight of hand and pickpocketing. Agility is something everyone has, so you're not going to have any extra. I'm iffy about the charisma.
I don't know what Nai's official ruling is, but I might point out that Charisma is difficult to work in a non-dice world. Whether or not your character is charismatic is more a matter of how you RP him. Just saying "SoandSo uses his bravado to convince the bandits to stop attacking" seems like poor RPing. On the other hand, if you say "SoandSo stood before the charging bandits. "Stop! You're leader has betrayed you!" and you have the character launch into a big speech...
Just my opinion. It's not up to me, though.
the latter is what i use when RPing...i mean using charisma in non-dice RPs is usually up to the Mod's discretion as to whether it worked or not. I can just as easily live with out it...just trying to get this down...
Well, I told you what I need you to do. It's up to you to choose what you like.
As for agility, it's honestly something everyone has. I posted that in Advice from a Veteran, and I think it's in the main forum information thread, too. Agility equals accuracy and movement, and strength equals damage. That applies to all weapons. The weapon itself has a different accuracy rating. This means you can be accurate with a weapon you're not used to, though not as much as you would be with one you know.
Name: Corneleus Raithen Age: 25 Height: 6'2 Weight: 190 Race: Human Appearance: Raithen is a rather tall, skinny human with tan skin. His black hairs is unkempt, yet he does not have a beard. His green eyes always seem suspecting of whatever individual he lays his eyes on. Apparel: Corneleus wears a simple leather jerkin and pants. He wears no jewlery and no shoes. Personality: Raithen seems abrasive at first approach. He may sneer at whatever is said, intimidate those who he feels are weaker than him. Once he finally makes a connection with someone however, he is very kind and helpful. Background: Corneleus is of the great Raithen family, who rule a very small kingdom in the far sotuh. He was second born, so didn't ascend to the throne and decided to take up a life of adventurer. He traveled much of the southern continent before coming to Isadore. In his experiences, he learned how to fend for himself and rely on no one else. When he hit rough times recently, he decided to apply to join the company.

Ummmm, we're kind of trying to figure out the balance issues with our current set of weapons and all. It'd help us do that if you used one of the standard ones. Once this project gets going a liittle more, we can make new ones, but it's still early enough that we would rather stick to what we've got and make sure it's OK before expanding.
IE: please pick a standard weapon and try that, because we're not ready for the rapier yet.
Hey, is there anyone else on the forums going to Rice University in Houston? We could ALWAYS use more people in our Magic games. PM me if you want to play sometime

Appearance: Gavin's skin is unnaturally light for his age. His hair is a stark shade of white, and his dark blue pupils seem overly large.
Apparel: Gavin wears a long-sleeved brown shirt, and darker brown ankle-length pants. He carries a pair of safety goggles on his head, which double up as a pair of sunglasses when necessary. He wears thick leather boots and a single gold ring on his right hand.
Personality: Gavin does not speak much. He is friendly to almost everybody, but he does not usually initiate conversations, leading people to believe that he is emo.
Background: Gavin never knew his mother; she died in childbirth. Gavin's father was a distributor in a merchant guild, and his long-term (read: lifetime) assignment was to trade with an isolated dwarf community. As a result, Gavin spent almost his entire lifetime away from the sun, talking to the native dwarves, learning their culture. He became deeply fascinated by dwarven engineering, in particular their earthwork. This fascination of his awakened his innate magical talent, and he discovered that he could shape earth to do his will, to a limited extent. But disaster struck when the town was half-buried under a rockslide, trapping his father underneath. He dug and dug, but to no avail. All he could find of his father was a single golden ring. With nothing left, he decided to become a mercenary.
Abilities: Excavation, Fortification of structures
Emo doesn't really exist in this continuity, but if you just mean pure emotional, that could work. Approved regardless. Post on the parade grounds. I'll see if I have enough people that actually post to start a quest.

Have you never watched anime? Emo exists in every continuity! (if we want it to or not)
I think we will have 2-3 people not in quest. You'll get your own asap.
