Sherea sniffed the blue leaf, curiosity brewing as it's spicy scent made it's way to her nostrils.
"Oh, what's this..." she asked him, looking at the cooked squirrel hungrily. She wondered what kind of food the desert boy ate in his tribe, and watched as he manned the fire.
"It's a squirrel. Even I have seen those before!" He laughed deeply. After several minutes he took the squirrel off. He cut it in half without taking it off the stick. He slid the two halves apart and broke the stick in two, creating a very tantalizing kabob.
"Here ya go!" He said as he handed the squirrel-kabob to Sherea. He began to happily munch away on his own dinner.
" It's just a red-squirrel. No, we don't have them in the dessert. We mostly live off lizards, snakes, and scorpions out there. Great big nasty ones!. That's what I love about your forests, everythings so tame!" He chewed off the last bit of squirrel and tossed the stick into the fire.
Almidan laughed back. He sat back and stretched staring at the sun. His mind began to wander. He fell in to a meditative state with his eyes open and staring at the sky.
Sherea decided to take a cue from Almidan, and decided to take a rest. She laid her back down against the soft grassy ground, and watched the clouds pass above her like slow moving ocean vessels across a pristine sea. Slowly she followed these vessels to a deep sleep

Sherea sees herself in the mirror, hair tied in a pony tail, falling down in front of her right shoulder and make up was lightly applied to her face. She sighs.Today she sees Bonsal, her husband-to-be. She hasn't really been paying attention to her parents when they do describe him, but what she really remembers is that his family is supposed to be very high-ranking and important. She laughs. Like she ever cared about status; if she did would she care for Alroze the way she does?
There's a knock at the door.
"Come in." Sherea replies, her eyes still trained on the mirror.
"See Sherry! You can be bueatiful if you slow down and take the time to do so," replies her second oldest sister, Keera.
"Shows what you know. I think I was always bueatiful." Keera snickers and then puts her hands on Sherea's shoulder.
"Today's the big day...are you nervous?" Keera asks.
"No, I'm just gonna look at him, just like I promised Mom, then let him down gently," Sherea then turns forward to her sister away from the mirror. "You didn't seriously think I'd go through with this did you?"
"What are you talking about? Oh no this is about Alroze isn't it? I thought you dumped that urchin?" She says, a little apprehension in her voice.
"Alroze is not an urchin, his parents are tailors." Sherea says flatly, obviously annoyed by her sisters words.
"Whatever, just be down in ten minutes, the carriage is almost ready."
Manny approached the two fellow mercenaries-to be lying on the ground. He was making a bad habit of sneaking around which he needed to stop, you looked untrustworthy if you appeared suddenly. As he got closer, he noticed only one of them was awake and he entertained the immature idea of leaning over the girl and clapping in her ear. That's no way to treat a lady he thought to himself. He looked over at the guy;
"How long have you been waiting here?"

Almidan slowly turns his head. A large smile grows on his face. "Hello there!", he bellows at Manny. " 'Fraid we've been here quite a while. Too bad you just missed dinner."
Almidan rises up from the ground, towering high over manny. He brushes himself off and extends his hand.
"My names Almidan. What be yurs?" he inviting in his deep accent.
Manny took his hand and shook it warmly, "Name's Maniller, but everybody calls me Manny."

Sherea leaped up from the ground, taken abruptly from the depths of her memory, smiling devilishly she said, "I'm Sherea by the way, Sherea Sappury..." she waved to Manny.
"Well I don't know about you guys, but this waiting thing is getting old, I'm gonna go try to find the armory. Either of you boys are welcome to come with..." she continued a slightly flirty air in her voice. She gathered her bag and was backing away slowly before turning around completely, seeing if anyone was going to follow her.
"Sure, I doubt anyone's going to come out here." Manny followed Sherea, "Why the armoury, though? Wouldn't it better to find someone who can tell us what to do? I'd rather not get stabbed for sneaking around."

"Hmmm, you've got a point there Manny, we won't do us any good having stab wounds. But honestly who cares if anybody tells us what to do, everyone's obviously quite busy right now. Where do you want to go?" Sherea said with her hands on her hips, smiling expectantly.
Almidan rushed up to join the other two, after stomping out the remains of the fire. He walked almost silently, despite his size. He quickly came up on the other side of Sherea and gave her a warm smile.
"Dunno, but not the armoury, not the training grounds. The first would make us look like theives, the latter like target practice." He paused for a moment, thinking, "Maybe if we look around, we can find someone higher up?"

"How about the Mess Hall!" Sherea exclaimed, seemingly ignoring what Manny had just said, "I know desert boy over here already ate, but I'm sure there are random people there we could talk to"
"I think our friend here know's what he's talking about. And it's not like didn't eat too." Almidan said. "But, we could head over to the inn. Lots o' people there, i bet"
"Meh, why not?" Manny really couldn't be bothered arguing a case for finding someone. The march had been pretty long, and he was now hungry.

"Ah, inn? I thin kI meant tavern. I like the mess hall idea a bit better now though. And it can't be that bad walking around. Besides, you two look tough enought to scare of anyone who might want to hurt me." Almidan laughed deeply and walked towards the mess hall, still chuckling to himself.

"Silly, I know that's a squirrel. I mean what kind? Surely they don't have them in the desert where you come from?"
Sherea took her portion of the meat and began to eat as well, letting her taste buds savor every flavor

"Wow, you eat fast," she replied jokingly before taking another bite of the freshly cooked game.
