All the green fighters don't have much to look forwards to after their march. They get to make their way slowly through several days of marching from their hometown to a large base. Rumors say it's Commander Fera's point of operations. The officers aren't saying anything about it. The base itself is surrounded by a large and imposing wall with a raised drawbridge. There's a large moat there, as if the occupants are anticipating attacks. Sharp-eyed recruits can see a portcullis and a thick gate behind it.
The recruits are forced to wait outside for their officers to be recognized. It's early morning when everything feels crisp and a little too sharp. Chill bites at their arms and legs. They can see people moving atop the wall, watching for enemies. The anticipation is almost torture.
Thellotar clasps his hands together. His body moves with a vicious shaking from anticipation as he continuously looks around expectantly with his lone good eye. Even so, he remains silent, yet aware of the others. As his eyes fall on Sammy, a smirk sweeps across his face.
Ever relaxed, Bellamin steps quietly into the parade grounds. The cool currents of air caress his exposed skin like miniature icicles. He notices the two others, but doesn't pay much attention to them. He decides to open his water flask and hold a droplet of water in the air, to practice the little he knew of water magic.
Seeing the suspended droplet, Thellotar smiles."That's a neat little trick you have there." With a swift movement, he raises his hand towards Bellamin. A wave of fluctuation passes through from within Thellotar's body, moving along his limb to his fingertip. "I've got my own talents, in fact." A tiny bolt of static jumps between the two, nothing more than a tiny shock.
Sammy remained nervous, looking from the direction he came hoping someone would come and tell him he could just go home, but he kept saying to himself that he was right to be here and he should stay. "Death will not be an option" He said to himself. He slightly overhead the conversation of the other two, noticed their abilities and then put his hand up in the air and started focusing. There was a small cloud in the sky, which was moving slightly.
"Hey. Name's Bellamin. It's not just a trick- it's water magic, though very simple water magic at that. My father taught it to me..." Bellamin's voice trailed off for a moment, and a small tear formed in one of his eyes as he remembered his father. However, he regained his composure and wiped away the lone tear. "So, why're you here? And where did you learn that magic?" EDIT: Post #250!
Trudging up near the back of the procession, Krensae's harp case bumps noisily against his hip, sending waves of sensation through his skin in a mild rippling effect. Seeing two men conversing with a droplet of water floating between them seemed quite interesting. It called to mind a tune, and Krensae takes out the harp as he strums with no clear melody on his way to hear what the interesting people have to say.
Aruven shivers. It was quite cold and she didn't have any warm clothes with her. She felt the numbing cold in her extremities and her face. She starts walking around to keep herself warm. She sighs as she sees the two men showing of their little tricks.
"Really, even adults act like children all the time..." She mutters as she walks on. She sees a third one and she nods her head. Why not wait and use your energy sparingly? They were probably going to need it later on.
Aruven sits down in a corner and takes of the wristbands. The copper was freezing cold. She looks at her wrists and sees the scars on them starting get red and a bit swollen. They always did that when it was cold. She sighs and tried to warm herself a bit.
"Why didn't I take any warm clothes?" She sighs.

Liya, still wearing the hood of her black cloak over her head, completely covering it, sees an elf sitting in a corner and walks towards her from the right.
She reaches her hand towards the woman and puts it on the woman's shoulder, then she whispers: "What is the problem? You're cold it seems." Her sweet voice boomed through her head, but she knew that no one except she and the woman had heard the words.
She reached towards her cloak with both hands and pulled it of with one swift move, revealing more black clothes and also her female characters, which had been hidden from view by her cloak.
She then reached it over the elf woman "here, take this, it will keep you warm." she puts up a smile towards the woman.
Then, still holding the cloak in front of the elf, she looks over her shoulder, at the talking men. Two of them were showing eachother tricks, it was childish in he eyes, but she was delighted to see another watermage here.
Aruven smiles at the woman and takes the cloak. She puts it on and feels the warmth of the woman's body that's still in it. Her body slowly starts to warm up. "Thanks." She says as she stands up and looks at the men again.
Her smile broadens. "I'm Aruven."

Liya was happy to see Aruven feeling comfortable with the cloak on.
The cloak ... it had saved her in the freezing north when she had traveled there months ago, there was wool on the inside to keep you warm and it was rainproof from the outside, to keep it short, it was perfect for traveling.
"I'm Liya, you've had a long journey haven't you? You look tired.
O, and I guess they'll have cloaks here somewhere, you could ask one of the guards or something." she told Aruven. She actually wanted the cloak back already, the cloak was something special for her, and she always felt uncomfortable when she wasn't wearing it.
Liya already liked this woman, mainly because she was an elf too, but still she saw grief and bitterness in the Aruven's eyes and she was curious why.
Aruven looks at Liya for a while and then hands the cloak over. She was obviously very attached to it, and the guards would probably get here any minute now. She was warmed up, that was all that mattered. "Yeah, they'll be here any minute now, I guess."
She sighs as she thinks about the question. Yes, she was tired. She'd been thinking a lot lately, mostly about how she was ever going to repay all the debts, and what Ryan would've done if he'd still been alive. "It was quite a long trip indeed, but I'm used to travelling. I'm tired because I've been worrying a lot lately."
She puts on her wristbands and sighs again as the cold metal touches her skin.

Thousandson finds himself a good sturdy rock and takes a seat on it. He looks over the lot in front of him. A few humans, elves, some fancy water humans. He laughs to himself about those in front of him being cold. His rather large build and beard stave off the cold perfectly. Reacheing back he pulls out a small flask and takes a small swig. Heck if he were cold that stuff of his would put an end to that quickly. He continues to wait.

Liya grabs the cloak from Aruven's hands and quickly puts it back on.
The light cloak rests comfortable on her shoulders, it warms her up again, she had becomed a bit cold already.
She decides to put the hood of the cloak back on, always had she traveled in that fashion, and she felt comfartable having the hood covering her head in shadows.
"I understand, I have been traveling for over a year now. Many times I have been thinking about my family, I miss them much, but I partially learned myself to put the thoughts aside." she told Aruven.
Aruven, she was indeed a very interesting woman, Liya was glad to have her on her side.
She noticed how cold her hands were, she shivered, Should have taken my gloves to this place ..., she thought.
Without further attention to her cold hands, she had felt worse, Liya looked around the place ...
At this remark, Thellotar turn sharply sideways. "A year? That's nothing!" He laughed. "Look pal, I've been traveling since before I remember. I have no home or family. My friends are but the sun, the moon, and the rain." At this, his eyes became rather distant, yet focused in thought.
Suddenly, he became rather impatient. He bickered under his breath, "Are the guards coming? I didn't come here to freeze to death!" Patience was not his specialty.
Sammy walks over to the three who are talking. Thellotar's story fills him with fear. He is strongly gripping the aqiual made necklace around his neck with his right hand. He is waving his left hand around to control the wind around Aruven and Liya. He is trying to make it slighlty warmer, but it only works slightly (or at least stop the cold wind) "Hello, I'm Samuel, but my friends call me Sammy" He stuck out his hand for someone to shake.
"Sammy..." Thellotar notices the fear in Sammy. "Nervous are you?" Seizing his hand, Thellotar clenched it tightly and shook it. "I'm Thellotar, warrior of the weather. Where are you from?"
Krensae stops his strumming as he gets near the group of five and puts his harp back in its case. He stands a little off, but close enough for his cocked ear to catch their words on the wind.

Aruven smiles. A year was nothing for her. She'd been travelling around for years, maybe decades, with the only stops in between a month or so in which she'd work to get some money. She hadn't seen her family in decades, she suddenly realized.
"I must've been travelling around for decades. I can't remember how long exactly, and it doesn't really matter as well, in my eyes. "
She suddenly notices the Aquial standing near them. She feel his eyes focussing on them and sighs. "A moment please." She says as she walks towards the Aquial. "Hi there," Aruven says with a smile on her face. "I saw you playing on that harp of yours, and I was wondering how long you've been playing."

OOC Samual/Videojuegos and Thellotar/darksys92: how can you know my char is female?
She has her cloak on which hide her female shapes from all eyes, and her head is shadowed by the hood of her cloak so you can't see that either.
So she must appear as a male traveller to you.
And also, you can't barely hear the words because she controls her voice so she speaks just loud enough for only Aruven to hear.
Thellotar might have seen Liya taking of her cloak, but Sammy didn't. So might it not be rather confusing for Thellotar because he just saw that happen from the corner of his eyes?
Liya looked to the other recruits around, some humans and aquials, and a dwarf, which wasn't paying much attention to the others it seems.
People didn't pay too much attention to her, or Aruven, but she felt the cold wind around them disappear.
The new one had done that, the aquial that had just arrived. He didn't have to do that for me, but Aruven can use it, she thought with a smile.
Seeing Aruven head for the aquial with the harp she knew that Aruven could handle things herself, so she looked around for someone else to talk with.
Liya decided to meet this new one, the Aquial, he seemed rather friendly. What was his name? O yeah ... Sammy I think ..., she thought, yes it's Sammy.
She walked to him and extended her hand by meening of greeting.
She noticed her hood was still on and it would be confusing to hear a woman speak from under it while you thought it was a man, so she took it of, revealing her young but beautiful face.
"Hi I'm Liya, and you are ... Sammy right?" Liya told the aquial as she stepped in front of him ...
Janon came up to the back of the group of rookies, munching on some berries he'd stopped to pick. Good, I didn't miss anything. He scanned the crowd, noting one man taller than him, but much thinner. There was an elf woman his height, along with a thin cloaked figure who was probably either another woman or another elf. A trio of the water-men stood nearby, one much taller than the others. Janon then noticed a dwarf sitting on rock. Sensible, reliable people. He looked around for a rock, considering sitting himself, but then decided to remain standing so he could see when the group starting moving again.
"Ah not long enough to be a bard, yet one must pass the time in some way. My name is Krensae; Good to meet ye." Krensane bows slightly and holds out his hand to shake.

Haveing finished his grumbling he again just begins to sit and wait. He notices how all the others are congregating but for now he isn't really interested in talk although he finds this human Thellotar interesting. OOC to Landil: You've got a good point, but that's sort of Thellotar's character; he's sharp and aware. He would probably notice them talking, especially b/c he wasn't really involved in anything else.
