My thanks again to the administrators, who agreed to post this update.
Unless anyone has been living under a rock for the past 11 weeks, we're all aware that Wizards of the Coast initiated legal action against me and ten unknown entities on January 19th. A news announcement on February 18th updated the situation.
I'm here to announce that earlier this week, Wizards and I signed a settlement agreement which will end the legal action being taken against me. I'm not allowed to discuss the specific terms of the agreement. However, you will notice obvious changes in my unofficial roles on this website. Please note my signature, below. I'm no longer interested in hearing any information about Wizards' products that aren't already publicly available. I'll continue to be a moderator, and I'll continue to be an active member of MTG Salvation.
I'm not here to badmouth anyone and I'm happy to put this behind me. I continue to appreciate Wizards for putting out a game that I've enjoyed for almost ten years, and hope to enjoy for many more.
A humongous, enthusiastic, heartfelt thanks goes out to Jay Shergill (Haloscope on the forums) for his involvement in this case. My wife and I can't thank him enough for all the time and effort he put into drafting documents, explaining legal terms to me, and negotiating in my defense. He could have very well spent that time and energy taking a paying client, or getting caught up on sleep! I'm so thankful to Jay for appearing during a dark and bewildering time for me, and offering his competent help. It was invaluable to have a lawyer on my side who not only understood the game and company who makes it, but also already knew about me and the history behind the case. I have no idea where this would have gone if I hadn't found him. Thank you, Jay!
Thank you also to every single person who supported me with words of encouragement, speaking out on forums and petitions for what they felt was right, writing or emailing those involved, and sending thoughts and prayers for my family and I in the past 11 weeks. I may have been publicly near silent since it all began, but you can bet I was reading every single post, PM, email, IM, and signature that was made on the topic. Thank you everyone!
You'll see me around the forums on a more regular basis again, and Jay is willing to help answer questions in this thread, should there be any.
Jeah i guess im getting spam warning for lack of content in post but it is worth it

The Sage is occupied with the unspoken
and acts without effort.
Teaching without verbosity,
producing without possessing,
creating without regard to result,
claiming nothing,
the Sage has nothing to lose.
So did Hasbro requested any amount of money to be paid? I know you are not supposed to discuss specific terms of the agreement, so if you can't, its fine with me.
Hooray for a peaceful settlement. This should be the rightful way.
Quote from Aaron Forsythe on Guildpact: Twenty Questions »
When Guildpact was handed over from design, it also had seven gold rares per guild,... and that the seventh gold rare in each guild was less important to the set than the Nephilim. So each guild is down a rare in this set.
Gruul, Izzet and Orzhov. Officially screwed by WOTC.
Unfortunate that you can't run the rumor mill anymore. The communities of MtG worldwide shall miss your tremendous contributions to the game. However, I'm glad (and the rest of us hanging by our fingernails) that you're safe and not paying ridiculous amounts to WotC. We'll be seeing you in the rumor mill (and hoping you have some kind of successor in mind ;))!

If there was a way to get Magic for free, do you really think I'd have spent so much time sacrificing children to my dark gods? For cards, I mean. Obviously there'd still be sacrifices. A hobby's a hobby.
Hey Daron,
Glad to hear this was resolved in a way that lessened your discomfort and, quite clearly, reduced any further hardship that this litigation may have placed upon your real, everyday life.
Hope to see you at the prerelease!
Cheers.
Click here to let Mark Rosewater know how stupid it is that they're going to call "In Play" the "Battlefield."
And copy this into your sig to spread the word.
Anyways, congratulations on putting this legal fiasco behind you. It's a shame we can no longer have the rumors/spoils of new sets, but it won't kill us all to wait a few weeks to see the new cards so you can stay out of trouble.
Well I'm glad it's all over for you, R_E! Thanks to Jay, too, for his help. I hope the settlement wasn't too bad and good luck readjusting to a normal life.
P.S. Any chance of posting decklists for the documents you drafted?
What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.
Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
So did Hasbro requested any amount of money to be paid? I know you are not supposed to discuss specific terms of the agreement, so if you can't, its fine with me.
Hi B&B,
Actually, that's exactly the kind of thing we can't discuss. Sorry!

Hey NB,
Um, I guess, if you really want some of them. They're really just not that interesting. I think MillMaster has many of them already. Anything in particular you want to see?

Glad to hear you are past it, no matter what the terms were. You have my sympathy for having to go through it at all, and my thanks for your work on the site
Congrats Rancored_Elf! Glad everything worked out fine. Pity you can't run the rumor mill anymore, but hey, I'd rather have you be okay than to have spoilers!

Wrath of God couldn't be more religious if the picture was Jesus smacking demons with a jug of Holy Water.
