Heh, if I punished members? Do you think they'd punish members for spamming here? I really, really doubt it. I think Scott would laugh until he died. Honestly I don't care what happens on MTGnews at this point. My home is here now, and I want nothing to do with MTGnews anymore. The only reason I even want the MTGnews Discussion forum is because people need to know what's really going on.

So now you are lowering yourself to his level. If he doens't ban people who come here and spam, and we ban people who go there and spam, who is going to look good to the remaining vets over at 'news? The person with rationality, or the person being vindictive?
I'm not lowering myself to his level. My point is I don't CARE what happens over at MTGnews. It's not my forum. If people spam it to death, it's not my fault, it's not my forum, it's none of my concern. I've said it once, and I'll say it again, what people do over there is over there, what people do over here is over here. As long as they're behaving on my forum thats all that matters to me. I have enough to do and be concerned with besides some petty spam attack someone here is doing on another forum I'm not even part of or have any desire to be affiliated with. I'm not being the immature one in taking that stance, either, so don't even bother trying to say that. I'm standing out of the way and letting what happens happen. Anything that happens over there is a result of Scott's actions. If you all don't like it, then do something about it and quit whining to me for something I don't have control over anyway. Even if I did punish the spammers I don't know why you all think it'd stop them. Perhaps you should quit trying to come crying to me and blaming me for not doing things in your winter of discontent with the way things are over at MTGnews. I'm done with this argument. It's not up to me to take care of your problems.
Well, he payed money to own the site, so he owns it. If he wishes to ban people for using the letter "e" he has the right to do so. Instead of complaining, collect money to buy back the MTGnews site or something. Kapitalism works that way.
In the mean while, word of mouth will get people to come here anyways. You commies

But you care about this forum, don't you? Because if you don't ban our members that break rules on other forums, then we'll gain a reputation as a bunch of lunatics run amoc. How you deal with these members spamming MTGnews is going to directly affect what people think of these boards.

another very good point. It is his site, he may do as he pleases, no matter who it pisses off.
well anyway, as much fun as this has all been, im gonna disconnect my laptop from the internet, take it into my room and watch my eddie izzard DVD (thats one funny Transvestite).
As soon as I read this thread, I went over and put the link in my signature. Just because they don't want me to, and it's childish to censor it. I imagine many other users did the same.
Now I know that's childish of me, too, but quite frankly, I don't give a damn. I am a childish person, after all. I know it will neither hurt nor help this community, nor will it theirs (as if they were strictly separated, dah), but I just felt like doing it, and somehow I feel better now.
Wow. So, now you get banned. And, if in the future, we need some people over there to aruge our point, people who arne't banned, where will you be? At the side-lines, because you had to poke the dragon.

Few will want to join a forum where many of the members deliberately break rules of another forum out of spite. Those who do join, will have just as little respect. We can be a better forum than that.
Apparently there are a few of you that are somewhat inventive out there, so I guess I will have to further clarify the rules on censored words:
Linking to any site, either directly or indirectly (and we all know what indirectly means, whether "random" or not) that contained a censored word in the title will be considered evading.
At this point, I will tolerate little in the way of rules bending on this. It will be my last post on the matter. I am very serious in this matter.
And now, a poem: I'm pretty sure whats had to be said has been said in this thread, therefore I will take it out and leave it dead, because I dont like the path toward which its being led. Thread closed. - TNK

but scott is not the example we want to follow, right. we want to do things better than scott, and react to things better than scott.

I still find the whole think *utterly* stupid.
As a point in case, what would he have done if the website URL was
'www.magic.com' - which has no website on it currently, so may or may not be a valid URL.
Ban the word magic?
Well, it seems that way. I agree that it's really stupid. A day ago, it was alright to have the link in your sig. Now, it's censored. :/
