I came up with my name at a time when I really was a kleptomaniac. I thought that just plain "Kleptomaniac" was just that, a little too plain. So I merged it with maniacal, as in laughter. i only later discovered that it is an actual word! But I use it for email, MySpace, XBox Live, and here, as well as several other places. It's me!
Well, as I read through those rules, I realize that I break a few of those rules. I use a bit of leet-speak in my name; the one, which I'm damn proud of. Because I'm number one, ****er!
Actually, I came up with this name about four years ago. I saw the UT player Fatal1ty, liked his name, and decided to come up with a name of my own that used a small amount of leet without being excessive. It started as H1gH_J@cK, if you remember me from years past, but I changed it after I realized that my current name just looks so much better. Go ahead and hate me for my leet-esque name if you will, but I like to think I'm an upstanding contributor to this site. -Jack

It's just a guide, and personally, your name isn't very hard on the eyes as opposed to like |-|1j4c|x or something like that.
Uh i guess this is the thread to post the stories behind our usernames? "Frengers" is an album by the Danish band Mew and since i am but one i made it Frenger
Media is not making me steal. But in a way is like the story of the very hot girl with the short skirt teasing the old sick guy with a history of rape.
Find a Nifty Word - This is how some people do it. They scour a dictionary or thesaurus and look for an odd, yet pleasing word, then make an alteration or two, or perhaps none at all. What's left is an interesting concept that catches people's attention as they read your name. The name Ziggurat is far more interesting than HockeyFan. It evokes a certain air of mystery, whereas hockey fans are as common as seagulls at a McDonalds parking lot.
Aphasia is a medical term for the inability to produce and/or comprehend language due to brain injury. Heard the word and fell in love with how it sounds.
Megiddo... The history of the word is much more interesting than what I derived the username from. Yes, I named myself after an attack in a video game.
I use this for the two forums I post(ed) on. One is this and the other shall not be named.

Can we have Megiddo removed from the forum forever please?
i'm pretty sure i can find your ***** online within 3 minutes
My IRL friends have called me BGS (Big Gay Seth) for years. It started when there was another Seth in the group I was hanging out with around 2001-2002. Somewhere along the way it became an online handle and at some point I settled on iamBGS for new registrations. Trackers, gmail, some forums, etc. BGS also lends itself to some seemingly egomaniacal phrases such as "What would Begis do?" as well as the self-descriptive adjective of "BGSque" (bee-jee-esk).
I love me! 'cause someone's gotta.

Rules Advisor and Generally Happy Person
iamBGS on MTGO, strictly casual (Standard, Commander, mine is Oros, the Avenger and an occasional draft to get new cards. Your spare commons are also welcome! (kidding!...mostly)
The first time I logged on the internet, I tried to sign up for a forum...I don't recall which. I tried every username I could think of, and all were taken. Finally, being a teeny, tiny bit of a smartass, I put in "Guess." Sure enough, it worked, and I used it ever since. The Giga came in after ANOTHER forum I was a part of wiped it's boards, and I had to re-register. Giga sounded nice, and was thusly appended to my former username.
I use this username strictly for Magic forums (including the one at Wizards.com). For other forums, I have my other names Too simple, I have to say, but hey, it has its reminding purposes
I pretty much use this name for everything and it has become representative of me..... I guess. I tried to remember how I thought of it and I believe I was looking around the internet and checked out information on the constellation Draco. I believe I saw this name labeling one of the stars in Draco and was like "that sounds cool."
Never did this before but I Googled both Thubinn and Thubin. Thubin came back as a actual name so I am kind of disappointed, But I Googled Thubinn and It pretty much only came back as posts on Sally.
I found the name Pharien in the back of Dungeons & Dragons' Hero Builder's Guidebook. They said it was Dwarven, but it sounds kind of Human to me, possibly Half-Elven?

I used it at the magicthegathering forum first. I was trying to think of some name, but everytime it was being taken. I had a fish tank next to my computer, and on top of that, a can of fishfood. So yeah, I used it there, here, and a couple other places. Not that exciting.

You don't need the most expensive cards to win games, but it helps.
Madding Azaram is a lead character in a series I'm writing. It's strictly original, but I wouldn't be heart-broken if I saw the first name somewhere online. It's a big world, afterall.
I use this name all over the internet, anybody who thinks hard will probably remember me from somewhere, if MTG is involved.
I've used this name since 80-something when I was involved in the demo-scene on C64. Just had to keep it. Unfortunatly the handle is often used when I try to register on something (mtgnews, mtgo, boards etc), so when mtgsalvations came up I was quick to grab the nick I've been known by for almost 20 years now.
Where it came from? Well it had to be something explosive (hence fire), and I think I was inspired by firebird (the company), hence hawk (also it had a noblistic overwatching feeling to it). Most importantly it had to be 8 letters (those who programmed C64 should feel a small smile coming on their faces now)
A secret? There is no "mrpopolike1", because that name sounds really stupid. "mrpopolike" is worse.
I came up with my name after forgetting the name of a previous account to a site when I was... 10, I think? I kept trying all these names that I thought were original, and they all turned out to be taken. "You know what? Mr. Popo likes the number 2, how's about that?" And thus, I was born. Named, of course, after the Ice Climber (and don't let no one tell you no diff'rent, y'hear?).
uh oh...looks like I seemed to have violated something. Sorry, I was reading LoTR some time ago, a long time ago, the name ecthelion stuck so I decided to use it. Well, I added v2 out of whim so sue me. hahaha. Sorry, it stuck and became my user name all around now.
My username comes from the fact that I'm infatuated with lightning and thunderstorms. I've been using the same name since I was like 10, it's kinda grown on me. I think it's a good username :).
I used this name is Maplestory. It's a fusion of Cagnazzo, the water guy, and Azura, the healer guy from FF4. Pretty nifty. I think it's been okay so far. Everyone calls me "Cag" for some reason...
When my original Cagnazzura account was hacked, my second account was Kagnazzura. Points for originality.
Anyhow, I am a big enemy of numbers in names. I've never, ever, EVER had a number in a username anywhere. At least, from where I remember. Maybe when I was 8 and on NeoPets... (remembers Lupe2649)

My username came about when I was 12 and I got a computer for the first time...my cousin was trying to come up with an AIM s/n for me, and she was like...don't you have ANY nicknames? and I didn't, but my brother was flipping through channels in the other room, and I heard greymon say his name then he turned the channel and I heard the Beverly Hills, 90210 theme, so I just smashed them together...now its everything, my mtgsally username, aim, yahoo, Magic Online, its always been this.
