It is a red deck. I don't know what other description you need. Your deck has pink sleeves and you need a polo with its collar popped to pilot this deck well. Duck lips and iPhone bathroom pics optional.
Seems like the best meta call to me to play red. Fae, 4/5CC, and Jund all do poorly against it. I'm a fan of running Ball Lightnings and Hell's Thunders though. They seem to important at dealing a lot of damage to skip. A friend is playing a version of red I made for him to good success against every deck even ww.
I like this deck a lot, and does great against almost every other deck. I see no bad match ups (not even WW), but there some cards that become auto lose. Specially Wurmcoil Engine. I hate that card! My list:
I do agree that boggart ram gang sucks though. It is simply killed too easily. The 3 drop should be 4 flame javelin (just awesome vs mistbind and great burn in general) and a mix of hell's thunder and ball lightning. Thunder is great vs counters and ball tramples over tokens etc at least, boggart ram gang simply trades with removal, vendilion clique, thrinax, BBE, mistbind etc and that's that.
The best version splashes for green and/or black though, the new duals simply make that too easy and the manlands are about as strong as teetering peaks.
You are fast and virtually unencumbered by Anethemancer. Your mana base is awesome because you have one color.
Why no Flamekin Harbinger? Its a 1/1 for R which prolly sucks but with all the ball lightnings and hell's thunders running around it seems like it would be good in this deck archetype. Puncture Bolt and Magma Spray can deal with the stupid persist dudes. I'm also thinking that a 4 pack of Guttural Response sounds almost mandatory in the board.
I don't understand how this deck isn't doing well...
Two copies of RDW top eighted the PTQ in San Diego this past weekend, they were very well positioned for the tournament. Once Wizards reports the tournament results I am sure this deck will get a bit more credit.
This deck is bad becaue of burrenton forge tender. Thats according to all the pros who mindlessly parrot one another in a borg-like hivemind babble. Except the decks that would play forgetender, kithkin, UW lark and such and such really don't exist.

Burrenton Forge Tender and Kor Firewalker can be played around, sure they're a bit annoying, but still they can be beaten.

Whenever something goes wrong in the storyline just remember: Bolas did it.
Karn isn't a Planeswalker anymore. Get over it.

Forge Tender yes, Firewalker.. Not so much. Firewalker plus anything reasonable to back it up is very difficult for red decks to beat. However Forge Tender usually just serves as an on board counterspell to Searing Blaze or Flame Javelin.

I think BFTs interaction with Volcanic Fallout is really important against decks like 4cc, where the 4cc player is attempting to wipe the board to avoid dying and BFT prevents that.
Against RDW I do not see that situation coming up as often, especially involving lists that run Plated Geopedes alongside the Figure of Destinys and Goblin Guides (like mine).
I haven't played at all against Kithkin or other WW aggro though, and I am sure those matches play out a bit differently than what I am used to playing against (Merfolk).
I just realized though that BFT is pretty good at shutting down Manabarbs for a turn, for those of you who play those out of the board.
T1 White is not a splash. Steppe Lynx is for Boros or Mono White, not Red. If you want to add all those cards in as a "splash" you might as well run Boros. That's not a bad thing but that's definitely not a splash you're suggesting.
Ajani Vengeant and PtE splashes happened before but once you get there you run the risk of ruining your T3 triple R. You can say it shouldn't happen but it does, and it's always during a key game. Murphy's Law of Magic :s

i did a list almost similar than your for this saturday PTQ at Montreal. Except -4 Arc Trail +2 Garruk Wildspeaker +2 Figure of Destiny -1 Flame Javelin +1 Land. And i don't play tectonic edge. I know it ETBT but the Ragine Ravine are pretty good for me to finish my opponent. Splashing green a RDW seem like a good idea IMO see this
I would like to know your sideboard plan for
Jund
Scapeshift
G/WTrap
Faeries
Vivid control
i know alot of mono red player are playing Smash to Smithereen for artifact there is also Mark of Mutiny, Guttural Responce, Combust, Manabarb, and even Dragon Claw for Mirror. i just dont know what to put in my sideboard.

No, but I played him in the 3rd round. I could tell you some of what he has, but I honestly don't think the list is super great.

xCC Control is way too slow, so that's an easy match up. The Leyline of Punishments comes into play if I see the opponent has Wurmcoil Engine. Faeries is another easy match up, and Volcanic Fallout comes as it does against other critters strategies (like WW and Merfolk). Against Jund and Scapeshift, mana denial strategy comes into play. I haven't faced any Trap decks yet.
Is leyline of punishment necessary? Has anyone had results with it? I'm hopefully going to play red in atlanta. I think a lot of people are underestimating it. I like hell's thunder a lot. I don't know why the list in the op isn't running any. Anyone testing ball lightning?
Ball lightning is => Ball lightning
if it pass, its awesome, if not, its sad... i board them out against control and Faeries.
Leyline is your way to win against Lifegain! you cant afford to let them win life.
Great for Wurmcoil Engine, Baneslayer Angel, Kor Firewalker/Burrenton Forge-Tender, Obstinate Baloth,
i just hope saturday to not come across Doran because i have like NOTHING against it and if one doran land the table its almost auto-lose game 1. Ball Lightning and Hellspark Elemental are pretty bad against him. I dont want to put Combust in SB just for him. And him not sure about the adding Smash to Smitherrens well at least it beat Wall of Tanglecord(Faeries)... and i dont think i will see alot of Tempered Steel deck...

I like the thought of a green splash. Naturalize out the board seems strong against white leyline and wall of tanglecord. This and bloodbraid is a house.....or so i hear.
Does anyone have the list that won San Diego? I can't find it anywhere -.- I'll be running it this weekend...I'm thinking about adding Mark of Mutiny in the SB...the look on some peoples faces would be priceless.
I don't think his list was that great, but he beat me so I guess I can't say too many bad things about it. He was playing Ball Lightnings and Hell's Thunders main, and board he had Ratchet Bombs and Arc Trails. Everything else I saw in his list looked pretty typical.
I think the maindeck is pretty solid, the only changes I would really consider would be -1 Ram Gang for an Arc Trail or a Koth. I found the Ramg Gangs to be too slow in multiples, and the only games I lost (RDW and Elfball) they were stuck in my hand when I didn't have enough time to cast them.
As for the sideboard I would cut the Tunnel Ignus's for basically anything. They were pretty useless since there were a lot fewer Primeval Titans than I was anticipating. Everything else in the board was solid. Against Fae I smashed three Wall of Tanglecords to smithereens, so even if the Esper artifact deck is losing popularity Smash is still a fine card to have just in case.
What are people thinking for the mirror? With this deck growing in popularity, I want to be prepared to face it. Dragon's Claw is an option. I've also seen SBs using Magma Spray, and I'm assuming that would be for the mirror as another way to burn out creatures and get rid of Hellspark Elemental.

Or worse off: Volcanic Fallout.
Just have a Leyline of Punishment on the field when you use Volcanic Fallout. Then it's useless.
Furthermore if you have a Progenitus on the field when you use fallout with your leyline, you can win in 2 turns!

I've been tinkering with other decks, but liked the looks of this one. I've played it the past couple of days on MTGO with lots of success.
I want to add that Arc Trial is such a great overlooked card. It normally is card advantage, as also are Hellspark Elemental, Hell's Thunder and Bloodbraid Elf, so this deck is very unusual for a red deck.
About Smash to Smitherness, I think Naturalize is a better option as Pyromancer Ascension decks are raising on popularity, too.
