seems like a good choice its used in type 1 why not here ? i guess the reason iona is used is well it can stop a major amout of spells and has pretty good defensive ability
yea, but against zoo you declare white with iona so they cant path her, and you don't shut down much else, it seems a dude with shroud would have much the same effect, and against Ux decks hes unblockable

Iona shuts down decks. Some decks absolutely stop b/c of her.
Mono Red is one but the others can just be stopped by naming white or black b/c of thier removal choices and decks.
With the rise of Rubin Zoo decks I think that Malfegor needs to be at least play tested.
Baneslayer Can win the race against almost any deck (It beat progenitus for cryin' out loud) So having removal for him, that's also great against most zoo decks and hypergenesis can't be that bad, it also has great synergy with the deck
Is there anyway to fit Goyf in here. I know that will sound like a noob, which is fine, because I am to extended and most of these cards. It just seems that this deck is a perfect fit for him as he would be large right away.

I dont think Goyf is right for this deck, he's far too vanilla. After all, the deck is supposed to function as a combo deck rather than an aggro deck. Granted, he will get big, its just the other stuff off of dread return is bigger and better.
4 Bloodghast + 4 Dakmor Salvage + 4 Drowned Rusalka + Fetches has been really good. There are many instant speed tricks you can pull off to try and navigate through the hate.
Loam is gone because it was sometimes really awkward casting it. Your mana is better spent doing other things early on. Salvage does it for free. You often don't need to regrow 3 lands; it only takes one to go off with Bloodghast. Also because they are lands, I find I'm taking a few less mulligans.
I have won multiple games by milling my opponent with 2x Crab + Glimpse. This is definitely possible post board when your opponent dilutes their deck and mulligans aggressively.
Sphinx of Lost Truths should probably be back in the deck as things do get stuck in my hand. I have Dread Returned a Drowned Rusalka a few times just to unclog. That's awkward as well though.
I cut Dryad Arbor because it loses most of its power without Loam. It felt really gimmicky anyway and was very rarely necessary when going off. This is especially true now that there are more Bloodghasts.
I hate Tombstalker. Either you don't draw it, your opponent has Leyline, or it gets Pathed. I think in 100% of the games where I boarded it in I wished I just had Echoing Truth instead.
Dakmor Salvage seems to be bad all around i rather get a grave troll and dredge 6 then 2 and i think loam is far superior because you get 3 lands back and dredge more of it, i dont see many spells worth playing after turn 3 if your not player hyper.

The choice isn't between Troll and Salvage, it's between Loam and Salvage. If you need land, Dredging Troll isn't going to help. And most times you don't need 3 lands, you just need 1 to go. Salvage also allows you to keep a 1 land + Rusalka hand in certain matchups and go off by picking up Salvage when you dredge on upkeep. And finally, this really isn't a turn 3 combo or bust deck. If the game goes long, you need to be putting down a Stinkweed Imp every turn until you can muster a win through either beatdowns, Iona, or Hardcast Grave-Troll.
Yeah, Needle is the easy option there. The trap is much more painful.
Nix can be good against both, a question I have been asking myself is : How consistent is the deck? i know it's more likely to mulligan with this deck and that it sometimes can beat itself, but does this happen a lot?
So what about the trap? And it seems like Leyline of the Void would be a huge problem too. It seems really tough for this deck to win games 2 and 3
leyline is actually okay to deal with since you got echoing truth sb. it's better than tormod yet not unsolvable. imo trap is more annoying. i guess you have to play nix or siezes to counter it.

You lose cards forever to it and generally you want to be able to play land.
If you didn't have Hedron Crab, I'd probably go nuts over Mox. But with Hedron Crab at 1 without nixing your CA, I'm more inclined to go with it than Chrome Mox.
I don't like it very much, but I could understand someone trying to play with it.
I really think we need to get a primer on this deck, I wanna do it but I just flat out don't get half the sideboard, and I've never played it utside of goldfishing, so....

one thing i didn't like was the choice of Iona as the central fattie, is there a better option? empyrial archangel?
shroud and they cant race it.
Thanks Darth Monkey
