the only thin is this deck is gonna rotate out because of the new extended rules i think it could possibly survive maybe with chandra's spitfire as a replacement for wee dragonauts and maybe something else i'm so excited for whoever found out flamekin harbinger that's just what this deck needed as i was maybe even considering muddle the mixture but not attacking with kiln fiend till the 5th turn hurts badly. also what do you guys think of delay?...... if the deck works right they should be dead before the spell returns.....btu being 2 mana kinda hurts in this deck i wish daze would be reprinted it's amazing in this deck

Delay sounds fine. It gives you exactly what you need - time. You just need to keep Kiln alive for the first three turns to win.

Yep, you draw twice. But you have to deal damage to them, which is fairly hard on the "weak" 2/1 body.
It might not be that hard if you use distortion strike and/or colossal might to get something through. Each spell adds one charge counter so you get to replace however many cards you use. That doesn't seem too bad.
Is there any room for counter back up? or maybe a transformative sideboard of some sort. It just seems to be succeptable to control or just about every burn spell if your not holding vines. Even if it is just negate to defend against removal.
Yeah, I figured that if you go Distortion Strike, Double Cleave then you'll find it hard to lose. The problem with counter back ups is that I'm running Violent Outburst. The cascade means you can't run counters under 3cmc... so unless you want to run cancel...
Outburst seems too good to drop, as its a double trigger for Kiln Fiend most of the time and gives a little pump. A transformative sideboard would be interesting... take out Outburst and add in Dispel or Negate or both.

hey though you guys have been talking about going with green or cutting counter spells those decks need some form of protection keeping it in u/b here what i'm thinking of changing
i added cursecatcher because playing kiln fiend turn 2 is soo risky because they may have a path to exile waiting or something else and i find myself wishing i had an untapped mana and cursecatcher helps with this alot and easily replaces 2 dispel
Hey, I'm not planning on playing this deck so I just look at it from time to time. With that being said has anyone mentioned Chandra's Spitfire? It's a 1/3 flier that looks like it should go in this deck as well. May actually be better to build around then Kiln Field. Because you can play cards like Ember Hauler, Prodigal Pyromancer, Earthquake etc for some control aspect. Dunno. Just thought I would throw that out there.

I don't think it will replace Kiln anytime soon, because that extra turn is just too much time to waste. It is still vulnerable to everything Kiln is, and it can't attack until turn four.
We do get a new red ritual though, so it will find spots in the deck.

so, first: tons of people keep recommending to play cards that are illegal (namely the ritual cards)
second: i'm assuming the deck HAS to operate as an all-in attack that involves giving kiln shroud, evasion, and atleast 20 power. This involves 7 spells. Does that at all seem reasonable? Most of these cards were standard legal, yet this deck never popped up, why would it in ext?

you can assume. or you can learn to read? the deck is all about turn 3-4. it's rather clear. it's just about making it consistent. and if you'll notice the need to aggressively mull for your kill con. so no it isn't a "must have perfect 7 cards" combo.
dragonnauts and doublecleave do not a deck make. kiln, fetchlands, deprive and the other new spells are very solid for this deck. were there a plethora of 1 mana U counters that would fit right into a deck like this in rav? lorwyn?
you don't seem to understand that this deck draws essentially a lot of solid 1cc or 2cc instants over the past few standards. so that's why it wasn't a real deck when partial pieces of the deck were standard legal. i mean LOL WHUT?
besides, no one here is proclaiming this deck as the 2nd coming of anything. they just workin on it. and i must admit i like what i see.

chandra's spitfire
yes someone has in fact previously mentioned this but i'm not sure this deck has a place for it considering you want to win on turn 3-4 or you don't win at all it could be a decent replacement for wee dragonauts though the deck would most likely be made into a mono red deck with almost strictly burn spells and board wipes. it could possibly be done but the whole build would need a massive make over which isn't exactly what I'm looking for. but thanks anyways

You know that thing along the top of the site under the advertisements? It says "Magic 2011 Spoiler, and if you don't click me there is something wrong with you". Yeah, it has these cards that aren't out yet. Isn't that cool?
To save you the suspense, or to ruin the surprise for you, we get a red Ritual in M11. So, it actually isn't illegal, unless they ban it when it enters Standard. We also have Simian Spirit Guide, which isn't banned either.
*Obviously math isn't your strong point, or you don't understand how Double Strike works.
**On that same note, should we add more ways to grant Double Strike?
***Every spell in Wizards was in Standard, yet it never popped up. Maybe the fact that Laboratory was in Onslaught and Vendilion was in Lorwyn had something to do with it.

Wait for them to cast something with Manabarbs in play and then fling your Spitfire away. If it's not enough, Summons next turn. Many ways to kill, semi-focused...
Yeah, it works well with everything in the deck and can become an easy win condition. I love it with Manabarbs, as each opponent's tap of mana gives the Spitfire +3/+0.
Fling is a great boon to this deck because it reads "deal 5 damage" when you have Kiln Fiend down; maybe more.
Actually, it reads "Deal 1 or more".
*Remember, the sacrifice is an additional cost, so Fiend wouldn't get a bonus from casting it. By the time it's ability would go on the stack, it is already long gone. Basically, it's ability never triggers because by the time it would, it is dead.

i thinkreverberate is ecclent in here despite what you say and fling isn't that great because unless you have other spells it's deal 1 damage to target creature or player while with reverberate i can copy a counter spell for protection copy a brute force for +12/+6 or the best decision is to copy manamorphose and produce 2 draw a card so i could in fact best turn play being
2nd turn
kiln fiend
3rd turn
manamorphose
reverberate manamorphose
manamorphose
reverberate manamorphose
manamorphose
reverberate manamorphose
manamorphose
reverberate manamorphose
distortion strike
double cleave
attack for 64 damage if my math is correct
reverberate may possibly have a place in here but we will see
Maybe I'm missing something..but doesn't it take 4 mana to cast Manamorphose and Reverberate it? You don't get your two mana from Manamorphose until it resolves, thus it is no longer on the stack to be copied. All in all...I think the deck wants as few 2-mana spells as possible. Since it seems you are trying to go off turn 3-4...that's 3-4 mana available, Manamorphose helps with the storm...but you should prob focus on 1-mana spells as to give you the best chance of being able to counter/redirect a threatening spell.
