Caw blade made Standard unfun coz it dominated the field. Decks designed to beat Caw blade would be terrible against other decks.
And Caw blade gains more weapons in extend, e.g Elspeth version 1 which provides endless targets for swords at the same time gaining loyalty. Is there any competitive deck in Extended that can keep Caw blade in check, especially after rotation?
Shouldn't Jund have a theoretically better match up?
They have SB hate like Manic Vandal which can be cascaded into to pop the equipmet as well as Terminate and Maelstrom Pulse to kill Jace, Elspeth and Mystic before a Batterskull can hit the field. Also Thought Hemmorage on a Jace or Stoneforge can be game ending and that comes in G2.
Although Spreading Seas and Tectonic Edge can be rough, they shouldn't be game-ending for a Jund player to work around.
Jund isn't as consistent. Jund on a good day can beat really any deck ever, but its mana issues and randomness due to relying on cascade make it not favored in the matchup imo.
For midrange answers I think Naya would be better. If the format keeps the same rotation rules this fall, I won't be surprised to see Naya decks packing 4x pridemage 4x stoneforge mystic doing well.

I had a discussion last night in my playgroup about it and we came to the conclusion that Jund will be played most because it is easy to learn and it ruled standard, Bant-Blade will be really good, but has a lot of SB hate for it and then Naya or Grixis could be a top contender.
Yeah, the same thing happened this past season. Jund was played 2nd most behind Fae, but had the lowest win ratio of any top deck (I think at GP Atlanta alone it had about a 35% win rate which is pretty telling). It didn't win any major events and no changes or "tech" made it more consistent, not even pitching Demigod to get Demigod. It's still a junk pile that gets lucky sometimes and either doesn't hit its colors or cascades into Terminate with no targets on board other times.
