The one thing I don't really get is, does having a violent alternate personality count as a superpower? That's not even a mutation, that's a symptom of a childhood trauma...
No, that's not a superpower. That's why I believe that she is a toned down hulk. I believe she has superstrength in the alternate personality.
@Stormbind - That's my impression about Hiro; his future self seems to have gained much more specific control over his powers. My friend had another idea though, which seems very plausable as well...
When future Hiro appeared near power copy dudes (Sorry, I can't remember his name for the life of me) location on the subway; the copy dude copied Hiro's power and he froze time, and Hiro was able to control it enough that he could "slip in" to the frozen timeline
I personally believe in my idea, but my friends is interesting too.
Btw, Anyone else notice that, inregards to Future Hiro, he appearently found a way to freeze time except for himself and other people.
Is it possible for him to time-JUMP with others?
Also, is it possible for him to manipulate space/time to create copies of himself? It is something in the veils of T/S manipulation.
Also, he needs a weapon... soon.
Lastly, im lead to believe that he only has limited control of time stopping, power that increases with each use.
no think about it it seems to me Hiro know who he needed to contact first.
he knows Pete is a copycat so he can jump time and contact pete while time is suspended , at least that is my thought on that

Well, the assumption is that Future Hiro is from the Future ;).
Hence he would know all the current heroes. And something that was spoiled was that Peter would be confused as whether to be good or evil.
If that is the true assumption, Future Peter is evil and it could be that F.Hiro contacted him in order to prevent him from getting evil. Also, the NBC title is "Save the cheerleader, save the world"
Agian, The future could be that the cheerleader died to Syler, or whoever, and without her was unable to stop X from happening.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is why i hate time/Space Paradoxes.

"The Critics always said that we'd only have a black president when pigs flu"...
And, given the person who is causing the time conundrum, it's entirely possible, since
Hiro has already started to change to future by jumping back and forth in thime. And it hasn't seemed to create too much of a paradoix. That is, unfortunately, if this attempt is successful. It's entirely possible that the heroes survive the nuke, and continue to fight whatever caused it. (Money is still on Sylar.)
Anyone see on attack of the show like this weeke where they were taling on the feed about the actor who plays hiro? he's an actual office worker for lucas light and magic i think they said.

It's my opinion that it wasn't Sylar that would set off the bomb, but someone trying to stop him.
"Save the cheerleader, save the world."
Now, New York being nuked would suck, probably be the worst not-war event of all time. But... it wouldn't be the literal end of the world.
On the other hand, Sylar can apparently absorb people's powers on a permanent basis. He's got telekinesis, and can somehow survive several bullets to the chest.
Now, if he could already regenerate, it wouldn't matter much if he got the power to regenerate... again. So, his ability to survive being shot must have to do with something else. So... near invulnerability + regen might mean a nuke might be the only thing that would stop him... or, maybe he even survives that, and goes on a killing spree with all his new powers.
Invulnerability, telekinesis, flight, time stopping and even traveling, the ability to predict the future, and the desire to kill lots of people... that could be the end of the world, there.

Banana of the Month Feb '05 Cool stuff here.
I'm not sure why everyone is so quick to assume Sylar survived those bullets because of any abilities. Kevlar does the job just fine. I don't honestly believe this is the case, but I'm just saying we can't really take it for granted what exactly Sylar is capable of. So far only telekinesis is at all a given so for all we know, he survived the bullets because of a telekinetic suit of armor (so to speak).

Because in comic books, instead of something mundane(kevlar) being used by a superperson, something insane works.

lol. "My one weakness is bullets. Not stationary mind you. Speeding bullets that I'm not faster than. Fortunately... I'm immune to velocity."
Phew!
I only saw one episode so far so I don't know anything about Sylar. Is that the cheerleader's dad?
Oh and StormBlind: Hiro might be able to affect time and everything but his power of time manipulation doesn't affect him. He still knows everything he knew. Peter is a copycat (AND HOT)! So chances are that he wasn't affected by Hiro's time stopping because (like Synch) he's copying Hiro's ability and is thus unaffected by it. If peter stays around Hiro long enough it's conceivable that Peter will also learn how to jump through time.
I would say that Hiro knew who to go back in time to visit because he's from the future. I mean it's not like he stopped the entire world and went searching for the one guy that was unaffected by the time manipulation.
The question is that if Hiro went back in time when New York was bombed then where's the second copy of Hiro from the current timeline? Or did he just reverse time? If so it means that in the future Hiro can actually displace himself in time rather than just reverse time itself.
If Hiro can control time then perhaps this Sylar has manipulation over Space. Predicting the future, hyper regeneration, manipulating time, telepathy, manipulating space, copying abilities. I doubt seriously that Sylar eats powers. If sylar does have a copycat ability then that would mean that in the future Peter turns evil. Uses Hiro's power to travel back in time. Goes back in time and becomes Sylar.
Heres an interesting question. If Peter copies hiro's ability and say jumps into the future, but doesnt take hiro with him, couldnt peter be lost in that future till he finds hiro again?

I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
Because in comic books, instead of something mundane(kevlar) being used by a superperson, something insane works.
Oddly enough, this isn't a comic book, it's a television show. And one that is very rooted in reality thus far. Well, tv reality at least, where everyone's hot and contrivances propel the plot. These people have special abilities, yes, but the show is still set in our world. It's not set in the world of comics (though the show is quite obviously inspired by it) where things are bigger and flashier and the powers are extraordinary and your powers are all you need to handle any situation.
Plus, I just like the idea of an antagonist with so many powers who needs to wear kevlar.
I'm not sure why everyone is so quick to assume Sylar survived those bullets because of any abilities. Kevlar does the job just fine. So far only telekinesis is at all a given so for all we know, he survived the bullets because of a telekinetic suit of armor (so to speak).
Remember, he froze that body in the first episode solid? That's at least two powers, and he's got to be taking the brains for some reason.
Besides, even if it was the telekinesis protecting him from the bullets, he's still got at least 3 ways to protect himself from damage: telekinesis, kevlar, and regen, if he steals that power. That's pretty near invulnerable, there.
Btw, i maintain that Hiro is the strongest person cept maybe Peter. Imagine being able to stop time THEN take brains... oh yeah... thats right
Exactly... if it was just any old power pushing him over the edge, Hiro's would kick more ass. But, if the power that specifically would make him destroy the world was regen, well...
I doubt seriously that Sylar eats powers. If sylar does have a copycat ability then that would mean that in the future Peter turns evil. Uses Hiro's power to travel back in time. Goes back in time and becomes Sylar.
The difference is, Peter gains powers temporarily, just by being near someone. Sylar gains them permanently, by eating someone's brains. Plus, he learned his powers by that one guy's dad showing him how, not by hanging out with Hiro. Learning a new way to absorb powers permanently, going evil, then going back in time and pretending he's forgotten everything for ten years just seems a bit farfetched to me.
Besides... if he did that, he'd already have the regen power, so why would he need it?
I think the reason he might be tempted to be evil is because, he gains powers by being near people with powers. Who's got the most powers for him to copy? Sylar.
Remember, he froze that body in the first episode solid?
Actually, I do remember that. Kinda hard to forget the man-cicle with his head popped open like a cookie jar. I just wasn't counting powers we only infer Sylar has. We didn't see him using any ice powers, we just assume he has them because of the crime scene. And I wouldn't classify that as a given.
I'd only classify abilities we've seen Sylar exhibit as givens at this point, and even telekinesis is disputed since Magneto powers are also a viable explanation.

I hope that isn't the case. That would be really lame.
Also, another thing about Niki's power, the second most mysterious ability. Ideas about split personality/she-hulk type abilities are all good, but one important detail doesn't fit there. In the first episode, when she woke up and the mobsters were all torn apart around her, she was almost totally clean. Her reflection, however, was splattered in blood. It really seems like they are actually two different entities.

But in the elevator it was in her. It referred to Micah, who is too adorable btw, as "our son". Nikki reminds me of Phoenix in a way. Jean Gray always doubted herself and her power and so her subconscious created the Phoenix, a personality full of fire and confidence. Maybe Nikki's mind did the same thing. Nikki seems prone to getting into messes and her alter ego is a sort of janitor, cleaning up the messes and taking revenge whenever possible. What if Nikki's alter ego killed her husbands crew because deep down she hated them and to protect her he skipped town to take any heat off of her?

He made the womans hand move, *was holding a gun*.
Stopped the bullets *metal bullets*
And made a super jump *metal shoes?*
It eitherway makes sense for telekenisis/metal manipulation.
Doesnt explain the freezing tho.
