My favorite is by far Futurama. I absolutely love anything the Zapper says, and it has the best one liners around.
For instance:
In the game of chess, you must never let your adversary see your pieces.
All you have to do is hit the bullseye and the dominoes come tumbling down like a house of cards. Checkmate.
Jace on the other hand gives you card advantage for no life cost. On the contrary, Jace can actually take some damage for you. I'd think that makes him better than Arena.
i like family guy the best for its completely random jokes and the DID THEY JUST SAY THAT???? factor.... i know south park has it too and is my close 2nd.....
but to quote the dumbest thing i've ever heard..(and quite possibly the funniest)
Lois: He just walked right off that cliff.
Peter: Obviously Lois, Catholics don't believe in gravity
American Dad! is garbage. The rest of them all have their niches in society, with Family Guy being proof of unknown, deliberate interference in Seth MacFarlane's would-be flight on a plane that hit a building.

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):
1.Futurama - One of the best animated shows I can think of. Great characters with good plotlines, well timed jokes and just the right amount of seriousness.
2.South Park - Very good show, I almost never watch it though.
3.Family Guy - Jokes are too obvious, characters are stale. I'm almost ashamed to say that I enjoy watching the show, but the random humor is funny nevertheless.
4.Simpsons - Great in the beginning, but it just isn't funny anymore.
5.American Dad - Family Guy's retarded little brother. Absolute crap.
The only one of the five I watch often is the Simpsons, so that gets my vote for that. However, I would say that despite the fact that some of the jokes used by the new Simpsons episodes aren't that complex, its satire of American life is still there and presented better than any of the other shows.
American Dad has its good points, but they haven't diversified enough to make it interesting.
I rarely watch Futurama, which is sad because I've heard great things about it.
Family Guy's no longer funny for me most of the time. The jokes are sometimes good and sometimes terrible, and watching the show makes me feel like I'm playing humor Russian Roulette: sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you don't walk away from it feeling like you enjoyed it... for fairly obvious reasons.
South Park's really good, and I love watching it when I get the chance, but I usually don't, which is a real shame.
personaly i find futurama to be the best. gotta love bender bending rodregiez.lol
i just dont like american dad, its just family guy(which i love also) washed down in republican juices.
ex:
family guy-Brian the dog "whos leg do you have to hump to get a dry martinie around here?"
american dad-roger "whos ass to you need to prob to get a glass of ..." i forgot what he says but it was a alcholeic drink.
Talking currently/recently, its close between South Park and Futurama. South Park has moments of genuine BRILLIANCE, somehow parodying a big news issue, some several pop culture references, and itself all at once (for example, the epsiode that parodied Lord of the Rings, The Last Starfighter, and Keanu Reeves' typecasting in the light of the Terry Scaivo (or however it was spelled) deal), but also has just episodes of random crudity. Futurama is a lot more consistant, the only of these shows with real continuity and character development that lasts past the end of an episode.
The Simpsons is also a valid choice, for roughly the 3rd-6th season, though they long ago passed into formula (however, the show is still noteworthy as a wonderful cultural artifact).
Family Guy was amazing before it was canceled the first two times; now that its back, it's amusing but not amazingly so. It gives the impression of trying to hard.
American Dad feels like all the jokes Family Guy didn't use over the years becasue they were too dumb, combined with every possible opportunity to bash Republicans, just on account. Family Guy may not be satisfying, but American Dad is downright depressing. Please people, don't watch or even talk about this show, that only encourages them to keep making it (and thus, that is all I shall say on the matter).
Am I the only person anywhere who thinks that Family Guy is somehow less funny, more random, and more stupid than even the new Simpsons? Seriously, Family Guy's jokes are so crudely obvious that it takes an autistic toddler to miss them. The show is so totally lacking in originality that it has to resort to non-sequitur flashbacks which do nothing to make it any more funny
QFT.Family guy is just really, really dull. I can't believe people are talking about how the simpsons now 'spends all this time forcing obvious jokes down your throat' and like family guy. It's one big set of obvious throat-forced jokes. And it is a crappy knock-off of the simpons at best.Southpark probably has the highest peak-funniness of any show, but is woefully inconsistent. Very few episodes are wall-to-wall funny and mostly they suffer on rewatching. Futurama, on the other hand, has some of the most absurdly funny moments and (nearly) all the episodes are solidly funny even on rewatching. Personally I think season three and four of futurama are better than any two seasons of the simpsons - and any two seasons of the simpsons (even recent ones) are better than any 2 seasons of the other three options.
I cant believe how many people dont like Family Guy. Maybe my humor tends to lean towards randomness, so the flashbacks, obscure references and bits such as Chris falling into Ah ha's "take on me" video at the supermarket are hilarious.

I'm a big fan of Family Guy, honestly, but I'm starting to think that they shouldn't have brought it back. Like, the first three seasons were amazing. Virtually every episode was hilarious. But since it returned, it's been alot less consistent..they still have some ridiculously funny ones, but, they have some episodes that I think are just lame.
I like Futurama and SP as well. Futurama because the humor is a little more subtle, and the show at least attempts to have some continuity. And I love SP because it deals with tons of real life stuff, and it's not afraid to make fun of anything..itself included. Sometimes it's just a little too crude, IMO.
American Dad is just retarded. Even when it is funny, it's only in a 'that would have been funnier on family guy' sort of way. I love the people that think that American Dad actually promotes Republicans...in reality, the show is a complete and utter mockery of the Republican mentality.
"Hello! I've come to serenade you. I can't play guitar. I can't play this accordion either, but I thought it'd be less obvious."

Futurama > South Park > Family Guy > Simpsons > American Dad.
Still, even though it's by far the unfunniest of the five, I have to say I'm amazed at how much AD has improved since its first episodes. Even my grandma's cremation was more funny than those! I still laugh more during five minutes of any of the other shows than I do during an entire season of AD, but at least I'm laughing occasionally now.

Lois: So doctor, is Peter healthy?
Doctor: My goodness, you'll be dead within a month.
Peter: What?
Doctor (revealing comic he was reading): Oh, Hagar the Horrible, if you keep up that lifestyle of pillaging and eating giant turkey legs, you'll be dead within a month. Now, onto you.
Peter: So, what do you think? Pretty healthy, eh?
Doctor: Well, Mr. Griffin, let's take a look at your physical results. Argh! There's a spider in here. Now, here we go. Mr Griffin, you're going to expire in a month.
Peter/Lois: Argh!
Doctor: This is your driver's licence, isn't it? Now, unfortunately, I'm afraid you're going to die...
Peter: Argh!
Doctor: ...when you watch these Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts.
Lois: Will you just tell us how Peter's health is?!
Doctor: Ah, Mr. Griffin, I'm not quite sure how to say this. Kim Bassinger? Bass singer? Bassinger? But now, onto the cancer.
Lois: Oh my goodness!
Doctor: You are a Cancer, right? You were born in July? Now onto these test results. My, they're much worse than I thought.
Peter/Lois: Oh!
Doctor: My son got a D minus on his history test. Now Mr Griffin, that liver's got to come out.
Lois: What?!
Doctor: It's been in the microwave for three minutes, it'll get dry. Now-
Lois: Please, please, we can't take any more schtick.. Please just tell us, is Peter healthy?
Doctor: Oh, yeah, he's fine, he's just really fat.
Don't remember, however I took it from www.familyguyquotes.com
(and I did saw the real thing; seeing it is much fannier.)
BTW, here are my ratings:
1) Family Guy
2) Futurama
3) The Simpsons
4) Southaprk
5) American dad
(however I do like AD, it's just inferior to the others.)
To Kroen: Man, that is one of the so many reasons why I love family guy.
Ever since watching Family Guy, the other comedy shows just don't work for me anymore. All I can think of when they are trying to make a joke is Stewie's following comment:
"Ha ha ha! Oh gosh that's funny! That's really funny! Do you write your own material? Do you? Because that is so fresh. You are the weakest link goodbye. You know, I've, I've never heard anyone make that joke before. Hmm. You're the first. I've never heard anyone reference, reference that outside the program before. Because that's what she says on the show right? Isn't it? You are the weakest link goodbye. And, and yet you've taken that and used it out of context to insult me in this everyday situation. God what a clever, smart girl you must be, to come up with a joke like that all by yourself. That's so fresh too. Any, any Titanic jokes you want to throw at me too as long as we're hitting these phenomena at the height of their popularity. God you're so funny!"
And watching Family Guy makes me laugh from the beginning of the show to the end of the show. My chin even aches from all that laughing. And the silly random songs from the past makes me giggle more.
Southpark is definitely on the bottom of my list, followed by American Dad on the 4th. Futurama and Simpsons are nearly the same rank.
Quote from Aaron Forsythe on Guildpact: Twenty Questions »
When Guildpact was handed over from design, it also had seven gold rares per guild,... and that the seventh gold rare in each guild was less important to the set than the Nephilim. So each guild is down a rare in this set.
Gruul, Izzet and Orzhov. Officially screwed by WOTC.
And I can't not love it, because the episode about Fry's dog is the only time a cartoon has ever made me tear up. Which doesn't even embarrass me.
Good to know I'm not alone. I watched it for the first time with my girlfriend, and she sobbed like mad in the end. I almost got there, but managed to hold it.
The one with Fry's brother is at least as awesome. I really didn't see that end coming, and once again almost cracked down on tears.
Quote from Tanthalas »
See, to me that illustrates Family Guy's biggest problem. They often tend to stretch jokes out for too long, when they'd be better cut a few lines shorter.
Although I remembering laughing my ass off when I watched the doctor dialogue, I tend to agree with you. Stewie's monologue quoted by Bumps and Bloops is a very good example of this IMO. Sometimes it gets really old, and sometimes it seems like they don't know the meaning of subtlety, and end up kind of 'explaining the joke'.
For instance:
In the game of chess, you must never let your adversary see your pieces.
All you have to do is hit the bullseye and the dominoes come tumbling down like a house of cards. Checkmate.
And the best one liner. Ever.:
Excuse me, I thought you was corn.
PS: I really dislike South Park. Boo me, I know.

Gruul, Izzet and Orzhov. Officially screwed by WOTC.
1. Futurama - Funny, every episode, consistent with the jokes and storylines. The Simpsons, but better.
2. Simpson - the original animated sitcom, funny but doesn't push the evelope as much.
3. Family Guy - some episodes are funny as hell, but sometimes they take it too far and the joke just fails.
4. South Park - Funny at times when it is smart but when they go lowbrow I lose all interest.
5. American Dad - haven't watched much but to me it looks like family guy younger.
The one with Fry's brother is at least as awesome. I really didn't see that end coming, and once again almost cracked down on tears.
