For me it's between Futurama and South Park. They're both made of awesome and win as far as I'm concerned. I like how Futurama actually has important continuity, doesn't go for pure comedy all the time, and how you grow to really care about the characters. South Park makes me laugh for it's willingness to do absolutely anything to get a laugh- including being extremely intelligent and extremely lowbrow. Sometimes watching SP just seems like I'm watching a thinly disguised political article though, so I vote for Futurama.
Futurama has always been pretty cool. I like the subtlety of its humor, and its plotline. Plus, it's not only humor - episodes like the one with Fry's old dog, or with the story of Fry's older brother, almost got me on the verge of tears!
Family Guy and American Dad are also very funny. I love the randomness in Family Guy. American Dad is kinda growing old on me though.
South Park is funny as hell and cool but, most importantly, it somehow manages to always stay fresh.
It's South Park for me, but they're all very close. Final standings:
1) South Park
2) Futurama
3) Simpsons
4) Family Guy
5) American Dad
What I can't stand at all is King of the Hill. It's not even remotely funny or amusing.

Of those options, I watch everything except South Park. However, by far, my favorite is Futurama. It used to be Simpsons, but they've been going down hill lately. I love the subtlety in the Futurama humor. Heck, I'm still finding new jokes while watching reruns every night.

If you're town and I'm mafia, you've already lost. You just don't know it yet.
South Park, because it is fresh every episode, and has the best timing.
[puts on flame suit] South Park is a wretched disgrace to animation, humor, and humanity as a whole.
You are wrong. Plain and simple.

The Simpsons used to be great, but then it started to really suck... they spell out the jokes for you on screen, they pack them in to the 20 minutes (-10 minutes through commercials) they have without any regard for timing or relevance ("This rope was woven out of handlebar mustaches!"), Homer got rediculously stupid/lazy to the point that its not funny anymore ("I don't want to go all the way upstairs to get gloves, so I'm going to sandblast my fingerprints off instead."), but slowly its starting to get a bit funny again. Its just not very original anymore.

Getting the last word does not mean that you win the argument.
Am I the only person anywhere who thinks that Family Guy is somehow less funny, more random, and more stupid than even the new Simpsons? Seriously, Family Guy's jokes are so crudely obvious that it takes an autistic toddler to miss them. The show is so totally lacking in originality that it has to resort to non-sequitur flashbacks which do nothing to make it any more funny.
Plus, the animation is terrible.
I voted for the Simpsons, assuming you meant the first few seasons. Otherwise, I'd vote for South Park (though it does crutch on crude humor a little much).
Any thoughts?

Same. Though I give the edge to South Park for its awesome ability to be current, something the other 'toons lack. I love that they can lampoon a big news story literally the week in happens. And do it with intellegence you wouldn't expect from an otherwise crude and lowbrow show. And it's just straight-up funnier than the rest.
Though I do have to give Futurama some love. It's easily the most underappreciated of the four (I don't count American Dad for a second, it doesn't deserve to sit with the big boys). And it's also the one with real stories, actual plotlines and sympathetic characters. And I can't not love it, because the episode about Fry's dog is the only time a cartoon has ever made me tear up. Which doesn't even embarrass me.
I personally have to say Family guy.
for so long I had been a loyal fan of the Simpsons and south park, even futurama. But Family guy came along and redefined the genre in my opinion. Plus I think that the Simpsons is getting stale after so long being on TV, IMHO.
It was sad that when fry finally got leela to like him the show was over (yes, I know there'll be more episodes+a movie [episdoes 2008, movie 2007] but who can wait that long?)
For me? South Park, hands down. Period. I worship MMatt Stone and Trey Parker as gods. I almost got to meet Matt Stone. When I didn't, I sat in my room, with teh door locked.

Really? Cool!

And about the episodes- I don't rememver where I found it, but it being said a lot (alsaw in this forum and in official sites).
For me, Family Guy just got lame after the 10,000th Lois hating Peter, making up after a while. Simpsons did it a million times, but I liked the situations better.
I love Futurama. Simpsons-Style humor but better presented.

Family Guy is kinda stupid. But extremely funny.
Futurama, however, rules all.
