Hey, I am wondering what this movie studio/producer/distributor name is. When movies open up, there is this girl and she is drumming. She is drumming on one of the marching band drums. I can't think of any of the movies otherwise I would just look it up and I have googled everything I can think of. Can some one please help me out?
yeah - obviously I disagree with you, John. Spam Warning!.....Amazing - even in a forum where posts don't count, there's spam. That proves that getting rid of the post-count won't help getting rid of spam! Thans for this excellent example! - Craven

I have also seen their logo in theaters but it still might be a random indie company.
At least I can say this is not true. I'd say it's sort of the equivalent of how Lionsgate and The Weinsten Company used to be: quite underground and somehow indie, yet potentially huge and progressively becoming a major company. Yes, I think it's a one-word only. Also, it may not be American. Kinda reminds me of the company with the last name "Free".
I meant that it's a person's name. Last name "Free", something like "Scott Free", but it's not that. The logo is like a bird, who used to be a man, in an original drawing style, that starts to fly and becomes the aforementioned... raven?
That said, I think the drum-playing girl IS in the very logo of this mystery film company. It's first an animation that later freezes into the logo. The style's a little clichéd, but it's awesome, I tell you! *continues investigation... should have remembered the name by now*
Also, the movies I've seen from that company are not exactly terrible, IIRC.
So it's vaguely indie but kinda major, the name is one word but it's also a person's name, the logo is a flying bird man but also a drumming girl .... what?

At this point, I'm honestly confused.
Nonono, I'm sorry.:D The two-named "name of a person" with a bird is a different one.
JohnJones (I obviously have a distant relative named like that:p) was talking about one that has a one-word name... perhaps a foreign-sounding one, IIRC? If not, then it was a verb, and one that isn't very widely used... am I too wrong here? I'm pretty sure I've seen more than one movie from that studio. From Blockbuster. From the "new releases" section.
Happens to be I read this thread and then saw a movie with that drumming girl. It's Mandate Pictures, so you were close.
It opens with a couple of people running toward the screen with some animals in the background , then the screen fades to black and zooms out to show the drumming girl.

Archatmos
Excellion
Fracture: Israfiel (WBR), Wujal (URG), Valedon (GUB), Amduat (BGW), Paladris (RWU)
Collision (Set Two of the Fracture Block)
Quest for the Forsaken (Set Two of the Excellion Block)
Katingal: Plane of Chains
The girl has blonde hair and I believe blue eyes. I think she is wearing a red dress but I could be mistaken.
Best I can think of is to search these one by one. Unless one catches your eye.

Nice Wikipedia page. It DOES have good movies, and it's owned by Lions Gate.
