I don't have time to play many games (busy with work, etc etc), but every now and then I'm looking for a bit of a break. I'm wondering if you guys have some good recommendations for me....either a simple 1 player game or fun multiplayer games. Thanks!
What I have (and like):
Mario Sunshine
Mario Golf
Double Dash
SSMB
Zelda Collector's Edition
Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2 (good stuff)
I've played Metroid Prime 1 & 2 a bit and Windwaker, but my only problem with those are that I don't really have the time to focus on playing the same game every day or every few days...if I don't play for a week or so, I pretty much forget what the hell I was doing in the game and I lose all motivation to keep going (lame?)
Games I am considering:
Twilight Princess
Paper Mario
Gauntlet: Dark Legacy (was a fan of Gauntlet Legends for N64, so I wonder how this is)
Pikmin (or Pikmin2, which I hear is better...but too childish?)
Rogue Squadron 2
...whatever else you guys think
Twilight Princess is awesome, and i have two copies it's a fantastic game however, and if you want a copy i suggest you get it. I'm re-playing OoT then will transition into TP again.

Skies of Arcadia: Legends is definitely a great game. Tales of Symphonia is a good one. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is another fun rhomp. Resident Evil 0 who doesn't like Resident Evil?
if you like GBA games, try to get the GameBoy Adaptor for the 'cube... let's you play all GB games via your 'Cube.

Are the Resident Evil games really that good? I've read reviews and tried to watch some Youtube gameplay, but I still can't get a feel for the game...I've neer really played anything similar to it before.
Tales of Symphonia, because it's possibly my favorite RPG ever. I've probably clocked more hours there than any other game I own.
Gauntlet Legends: Dark Legacy is a fun spin on the whole GL series, giving four more areas than the original (pretty sure a remake with more of the Dreamcast/Arcade version).
Ikaruga, if you can find it, is surprisingly addictive for a space-shooter/bullet-hell game.
The Megaman classics collection Rocks (bad I know).
I personally loved Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles when I played it with my friends (this sentiment is not widely shared), plus its easy to drop and pick up thanks to its very modular gameplay.
Resident Evil 4 is great, plus, who doesnt live head shotting zombies, er, whatevers.
Windwaker is by far the best game on the Cube or any system ever. See avatar for bias.
Tales of Symphonia is awesome. Play it. But it is very, very long.
Star Fox Assult is OK. Star Fox Adventures SUCKS.
Edit: yes the RE games really are that good. I personally HATE zombie/horror games in general, but I love RE.
Pikmin is better than Pikmin 2, but both are good. Twilight Princess is awesome, metroid primes are amazing. Gauntlet's always fun, as is Paper Mario.
No way! Pikmin 2 is definitely better. No time limit and way longer levels.

hey i have managed to evolve my axolotls by feeding them thyroid glands the thyroxine contained in these gland is enough to change these water dwelling creatures into land based creatures

Tay, that's not evolution. It's metamorphosis. Evolution means descent with heritable modification – individuals cannot evolve, unless they're Pokemon.

Aside from the great games already mentioned, I'm a big fan of Luigi's Mansion. It's a fun game, and they did a great job encouraging you to seek the actually challenging higher score echelons.
I thought Rogue Squadron 2 was fairly good, but suspect I wouldn't like it much if not for Rogue Squadron. It's not as strong as the first.
I also think Pikmin was better than Pikmin 2, partially because of the time limit. I agree that it's a little too punishing, but I prefer that to having none of it.

My anecdotal evidence disagrees with yours! EXPLAIN THAT!
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is okay, if you can find it.
Tales of Symphonia is pretty much a must have as it is one of the few RPG's on the console... however it is awesome.
Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 are amazing games.
Megaman X Collection is really good as well, if your into that. The difficulty can be easier if you want it to be due to generous powerups. Barring the terrible port of X6, its really good. (not that X6 was that good to begin with)
A perfect game if you can only pick it up once or twice a week is...
Animal Crossing. Seriously, the game was made to be only picked up once or twice a week. It seems really kiddish and probably aimed at teenage girls, but it's a really fun game. And if you live in an area (room mates, siblings) where other people are going to pick up the game, it gets even better.
Has no one said Eternal Darkness yet? That game was probably my favorite GC game.
I'm saddened by the massive lack of Eternal Darkness love here. Why? It's an AMAZING game. Probably the best on the GC, and that's including RE4. It's really sad that there's no sequel to the game being made, but I guess I can see why not since the game isn't really all that open-ended in its storyline. But don't take my word for it. Take an actual game reviewer's word for it as well.

Go get Tales of Symphonia, which is an amazing game in and of itself.
This! I've played it so much the disk has cracks in it and I can't believe it still works. If it does go though, even though I've been playing it for 4 years, I'll buy it again in an instant.
The only thing that's ever stopped me playing it was the sequel, though it's nowhere near as good.
Lost Kingdoms is a personal favourite of mine, just if you do get it bear in mind that it lasts about 10 hours even with the sidequests. I can complete it in under and hour and a half. It is however, both a real time RPG and a TCG and for that alone it has my vote (though clearly not over ToS).
I'm saddened by the massive lack of Eternal Darkness love here. Why? It's an AMAZING game.
i tried play it, but i got to a point where i didn't have anything to fend off a zombie thing, while playing as a monk or something. i quit the game and never looked back.
here's a rare one that's a fun little gem: Cubivore: Survival of the Fittest. you play as a single-limbed, though amply adaptable, predatory cubivore- your goal is to became the top of the food chain- a 9-limbed flesh-bound cubivore. As you evolve, you gain different forms (basically, your 'limbs' are planks stuck to your main body. as you evolve, the planks grow in number and arrange themselves differently.) But evolving isn't easy, you have to color coordinate your limbs- there are three types of colors: dark, light, and 'rare' and you need all possible combinations to become the Ultimate Cubivore...
if you want to relieve some stress, try Alien Hominid, i think it started off as a flash game that got popular enough for console release... You play as a savage alien trying to escape from earth after crash landing. You avoid MiB, russian commies, alien fanatics and who knows what else- with not but your laser blaster, and your alien teeth as you can leap onto humans- and bite off their heads!!!
if you've played Metal Slug, you'd be comfortable with Alien Hominid.

Has anyone here played Odama, and is it any good?
Also, I too would like to know how the Gamecube remakes of the previous Resident Evils came out.
Resident Evil 4 is an ABSOLUTE must have. It's easily one of the best games ever made.
Twilight Princess if you don't already have it for the Wii.
Metroid Prime
Also, haven't played Viewtiful Joe and Pikmin, but heard amazing things.
No way! Pikmin 2 is definitely better. No time limit and way longer levels.

Luigi's Mansion.
I really enjoyed the game, even though most reviewers have panned it. I guess it might not be for everyone.

Me too! I love this game.
It's one you definitely need to check out.
And ofc the blockbuster list: RE4, Windwaker, Metroid Prime(s) (though if you're using Wii BC you might as well just get the MP collection)...
Everything in this thread pretty much rocks.
