Anybody else getting this game? I know for sure that I am (I won't be online till May 5th, though), and if other MTGS members are getting it, perhaps we could start our own guild or at the least tackle some missions with each other.
For those who don't know, Guild Wars is a MMORPG with no subscription fee, excellent graphics, and it plays less like a traditional MMORPG like EQ or WoW and more like the game we all love: Magic. Combat is primarily skill-based, with abilities and strategy (like MTG) taking precedence over experience points and levels.
I'm probably going to be a base class Ranger, with a secondary class of Elementalist or Mesmer, possibly even Monk.
If I get my internet back, I'll definitely get it. Got $50 saved up ...
I'll be an Mesmer/Ranger, so I can slow people, hit them with arrows and run away.

I've heard the Mesmer is an advanced class that's very hard to master. If you're a mesmer, I suggest making that your secondary class.
I've already decided on Ranger/Elementalist for my combination.
Depending on my spending money, I will probably get Anarchy Online, Guild Wars, or WoW. I would prefer WoW as I have played it at friends house and most my friends play it. Most pvp games in all mmorpgs usually degenerate into what is basically "sneakers", "hunters", and "tanks". I have yet to see a game break this formula.

You're obviously an ignorant conservative. I blame your hill-billy Mom and Dad.
How so? It is online. It has very many people playing it. It is an RPG. Also, D1 and D2 are both MMORPG. Just because it has no subscription fee does not make it not an MMORPG.
This game actually looks very good. I am seriously considering buying the game. From the looks of it, i might be a Ranger/Monk. Just sit back, behind everyone eles, and shoot arrows and heal when nessacary(sp?).
Anyway, i think an MTGS clan would be cool, and would definately join.

Well, I picked it up. Unfortunately, I'm having some crash problems, so I can't really get into it that well, but hopefully I can fix those soon.
A few good things about it. Drop rates are high. As in you're more likely not to get an item. Quests are actually useful, in that many of them are quick to finish, and give decent reward.
Oh, and if we do decide to do a Salvation clan, let's not call it "MTGS" :D. The clan name shows up next to your character name (such as John Doe [CLAN]).
Makkert:
1) I think it's about every 6 months, give or take.
2) Less than the original, probably.
3) They should be local retail.
1) how often will expansions appear?
2) how much will expansions cost?
3) where will expansions be availble? local retail? or do we need creditcards to buy online?
1) Every 6-9 Months
2) "Competitively Priced" (what ever that means)
3) no clue
Also, they said that you do not have to buy the expansion packs to continue playing. they just allow you to have access to more quests/maps/characters/skills etc.
Well, the game has a problem with Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controllers, which causes the game to crash whenever you try doing anything with items (sell, trash, equip, etc.) and the Blue Screen of Deathtm to pop-up. Hopefully there's a fairly easy way to fix the problem. Otherwise...there goes 50 bucks down the drain.
Just picked mine up today and it is PRETTY! Still have yet to delve deeper into the game but it's currently sucking hours away from my life, not that that's a bad thing...

This is a great game. Including that there is no monthly fees, it's even better. If anyone wants to find me I'm after the searing and I have a level 8 E/N named Vankar Margikari (last name not too sure, made it up on the spot).
well.. my copy will take another week to arrive.. two tops.. currently thinking using the elementalist as basic.. and still considering between mesmer, necro or hunter as the second..
btw.. anybody got the collector's ed.?? is it worthy??

The guild is just me, i made it just before i logged off last night. I only play PvE as well (for now at least), so the more the marrier. If you do play PvP, thats fine to, dont mind at all, the more the marrier!
On a side note, anyone willing to trade your bones for my granet(SP?) slabs??

This is a sig. Yes it is.
I usually like going for the damage-dealing classes, so I'll probably use an Elementalist or Warrior.
