The old one on news just was supposed to be about WWE. This one that I am starting this one on salvation as a forum for all the major (or semi-major) promotions, basically WWE, NWA-TNA, and ROH.
[EDIT: You are especially invited to post if you are a fan of ROH. I've never seen any of it, but I have heard great stuff about it.]
Feel free to post about anything wrestling about any wrestler, upcoming events, or a storyline/character you'd like to see happen (or eliminated, aka Heidenreich and Snitsky).
I'll start it off with my predictions for this Sunday's overpriced WWE PPV, New Year's Revolution. Seriously, they're charging 35 bucks for this crud.
Jerry Lawler v. Mohammed Hassan
I got a bad feeling Lawler will get the 1-2-3 in this one, and it will not be a very good match. Fortunately or unfortunately, the worst match is now..............
Kane v. Gene Snitsky
They give us a weapons match at Taboo Tuesday and now they're supposed to settle this in a regular match. I hope Kane wins and we never see Snits again.
Lita v. Trish Stratus for the Women's Title
This will not be as good or as entertaining as the one they had on free TV a few weeks back. Lita retains so Trish can win it back at Mania.
Shelton Benjamin v. Maven for the Intercontinental Title
Maven!?!!?!
Maven is getting a high profile title match!?! What, Val Venis wasn't available. Steven Richards break his neck!?!? Maven!?!?!??!!
Shelton better win this, for his sake and everyone else's
Eugene & Regal v. Christian & Tomko for the World Tag Titles
Regal and Eugene retain. Why isn't Christian facing Benjamin for the IC title again in a rematch?
The Elimination Chamber for the World Title --- Triple H v. Edge v. Batista v. Chris Benoit v. Chris Jericho v. Randy Orton
I'll get straight to the end. Trips gets the World Title back after he pins Orton at the end.
I'd rather see any other two be the last two, but considering who Trips is and how Orton is treated like he's some kind of deity, that'll be the last two and we all will be disappointed.
WWE has gone WAY too over the edge with Jerry Lawler v. Mohammed Hassan. Lately, I have been hating how WWE does the most stupid topics, like getting Lita pregnent... basically one of the worst top 3 gimmicks EVER in W.W.E. history!
They base Triple H around the World heavyweight title ever since the split back in 02'. And once Triple H stops wrestling in the future, he's practically going to run that company because he's married to the Bosses daughter in real life.
There are just not plenty but A LOT of underrated superstars. I'm quite happy they put Maven in some of the spotlight, same with Rhyno the past few monthes.
But the past few years of WWE have been... meh.
TNA is growing bigger and bigger everyday, considering TONS of people are quitting WWE.
I hope Muhammad Hassan beats Jerry Lawler. Hassan is impressive on the stick and I hope he can wrestle as well (However, Daivari has a cooler finisher.). Hassan will most likely win.
I hope Kane kills Snitsky and sends him back to OVW. Horseface sucks on the mic and in the ring. Kane will most likely win.
I hope Shelton beats Maven. Maven needs to develop a flashier moveset, develop his character, and get new theme music. Shelton will win this match.
I hope Lita doesn't kill herself at NYR. They had one of the greatest American women's wrestling matches on RAW, and I hope they do a repeat performance. 50/50 split here.
I hope Eugene and Regal retain the tag titles. They have a hot comedy act, and Christian needs to prime himself for a summer push (wishful thinking, I know). Eugene and Regal will win if WWE is smart, probably by heel miscommunication.
The EC:
Who I hope will win: Chris Benoit. Randy Orton's push failed, Batista is on a hot streak but isn't ready for a World Title, Chris Jericho is mired in the midcard. He, Edge, and HHH are the only real contenders I see.
Who will win: Triple H, to set up the WM main event.
I'll say this about Muhammed Hassan: they are using him to his fullest heat-generating extent. Did anyone hear the crowd's reaction when he was choking out JR on RAW this past Monday. They were going berzerk over it. Regardless of whether you're a heel or face, a reaction as strong as that is a good sign that the worker's doing his job to the fullest extent. Now, I've yet to see him in the ring, but I've heard many good things about his style and presence, so I'm looking forward to seeing him crush Lawler at NYR, even though I'll kinda be pulling for Lawler :D.
While I'm on the subject of New Year's Revolution, I'll toss in my predictions on the other matches as well:
Kane vs. Snitsky: This one's easy. They never tacked on an stipulation whatsoever, which gives them the chance to have a shaky finish (like a DQ or countout) that sets up the REAL blowoff between the two (and hopefully the demoting of Snitsky to OVW).
Winner: No Contest
Trish vs. Lita: Now, I would love for my favorite Diva to win back the title, but Lita just got the belt, and hotshotting it would strip the belt of the little credit is has. Lita retains here in a decent women's match.
Winner: Lita
Eugene and Regal vs. Capt. Charisma and Tyson Tomko: I think Eugene's pretty cool, but he'll never get a title past the Tag belts with his current "wrestling savant" gimmick. Meanwhile, Christian should be getting better treatment from Vince and Co. and I think he should be an upper-midcard title contender. The only person who has anything to gain from a Regal/Eugene loss here would be Tomko, who's barely wrestled on TV. Thus, he hasn't shown us that he can prove himself. I'm picking Eugene and Regal to retain. But will someone PLEASE fix the RAW tag division?
Winners: Regal/Eugene
Shelton Benjamin vs. Maven: If Maven's heel character had been built up for a few solid months of victories and good promos, perhaps even a lower midcard angle to start him off, I would say he's not only a lock to win the belt, but deserving of it too. However, this is not the case at all. Maven's been heel for what, a month? I'm not looking forward to this match, and since it's a Shelton Benjamin match, I'm surprised at myself in this case :D. I hope Shelton retains here and goes on to bigger and better things, but I have a bad gut feeling that Maven's cheating to win the title. The only good outcome of this is that it can set up a WMXXI rematch between the two.
Winner: Maven
OK, I know this match isn't on the card, but since they ALWAYS add a Rhyno/Hurricane/Rosey Match onto a RAW PPV, I'll guess that Rosey/Hurricane/Rhyno squishes Simon Dean in a 0-star "classic".
Winner: Rosey/Hurricane/Rhyno
The ELIMINATION CHAMBER:
OK, we all know who's NOT winning: Benoit, Jericho, and Edge. I can say that right off the bat. Benoit, even though I love his work, won't get a second chance as long as there are guys who look like Batista and Snitsky around. Same goes for Jericho. Edge will get screwed by Shawn Michaels, leading to a WMXXI match between the two. This leaves the Nose, Batista, and Orton. Personally, I would love if Batista won it here (lesser of three evils I suppose), since he's getting face pops from the crowd, and because he has improved so greatly in the past year alone. He's a deserving guy right now, UNLIKE a certain Nose we all know and hate. If Batista won it here, Trips would have it back by the Royal Rumble most likely. It sickens me to think like that, but it's just WWE logic: Trips gets the belt no matter what. Since the World Title's existed, a year hasn't gone by without HHH being the champ at least once. I really don't want Orton to win here though, plus he's probably gonna win the belt at WrestleMania in LA. So even though I want Batista to win, I'm going to say Trips gets the belt back for the billionth time.
Winner: Triple H
Well, that's all the matches for the card, so I'm signing off for now.
-MV2 :fingers:
BTW, anyone else hear about the new RoH champ (It's kinda old news, but hey, its a good conversation subject), Austin Aries??
I used to watch GLOW (gorgeous ladies of wrestling) when I was a kid. At the current time, I feel I have better things to do than watch men in tights run around and grab each other. I will grant, however, that the interviews and such are very humurous but I can't watch the actual "events" take place.
Orton-Trips really isn't going to be the main event at WM21.
They fight at the Rumble for the World Title, and unless they're doing another triple threat. I know last year's Benoit-Trips-HBK was great, but I really don't want another triple threat.
The card so far is leaps and bounds better than last year's Royal Rumble. Then again, that might just be because Hardcore Holly isn't getting a WWE title shot.
So far........
RAW: Edge v. Shawn Michaels -- Both are also in the Royal Rumble match itself, which is different from recent years. My guess is HBK wins the match just to keep his ego stroked.
RAW: Trips v. Orton for the World Title -- Well, as I said, this more than likely isn't the WM main event if they're giving it to us now. Since I believe now that Trips will likely be facing Batista at Wrestlemania, I don't think it will be a title match. As weird as it sounds, I think Orton might get the title back and even go into Wrestlemania as champion. I might be reaching with that, but it's possible.
SMACKDOWN: Undertaker v. Heidenreich in a Casket Match -- The biggest duh match of the night. At least UT isn't going isn't going to be the 30th entrant into the Rumble again. UT wins in a borderline slaughter. If there is any justice, this will start the night but that honor probably goes to Edge-HBK.
SMACKDOWN: JBL v. Big Show v. Angle in a triple threat for the WWE Title -- JBL keeps his near miraculous win streak alive by squeaking out of this one by picking up the scraps of Show and Angle beating the tar out of each other and by massive cheating by Orlando. Not that there is anything wrong with that.........haha
The Royal Rumble match -- Oddly, we can look to the result of the Edge-HBK match for the winner of this thing. I think that the loser of that match will go on to win the Royal Rumble. Therefore, Edge wins the Rumble and goes on to Wrestlemania. At least this isn't as obvious as last year's Rumble where we knew it was either going to be Benoit or Goldberg winning it. Now it can be darn near anyone.............well, anyone near the top of the card......or Cena if he wins his Royal Rumble qualifying match (he hasn't "qualified" as of this post).
WWE has been lacking lately. I've been playing my ps2 during Monday, and I plan on doing that until every game I have recieved has been beaten. So far, I've only beaten X-men legends, and I am totally sucking at Def Jam fight for NY.
I think Canada has the greatest wreslting fans. In one of the newsletters I get via my email, they said at Tonights Smackdown(which is taped on Tuesdays) they had to edit the fans chants to Brian Hebner as he ref'd. Brian Hebner is the son of Earl Hebner, who ref'd the infamous 'Montreal screwjob'. Thats pretty funny.

I hope it doesn't happen, but all rumors are pointing to Snitsky helping Heidenreich win the casket match, which will in turn set up a Gene Snitsky/Heidenreich vs. Kane/Undertaker tag match at Wrestlemania.
rumor has it that brock lesnar is gonna be the 30th entry in the rumble. What do ya'll think about that? I personally hope so, samckdown needs all the help it can get
rumor has it that brock lesnar is gonna be the 30th entry in the rumble. What do ya'll think about that? I personally hope so, samckdown needs all the help it can get
Maybe. Wasnt their a rumor he came back cos' the NFL wasnt working with him as great as he thought it would be?
Rumble predictions:
Edge vs HBK:
Edge. I've always been an edge-head and defiantly want him to win this match.
JBL vs Angle vs Big Show:
We all know J.B.L. is going to keep is sadly. I want Angle to win though.
Undertaker vs Heidenreich:
Undertaker but then again the WWE writers always do stupid things like make the wrong person win for stupid gimmicks and story lines, so Heidenreich might win, but I want taker' to win.
HHH vs Orton:
HHH defiantly. I want orton to win, but their keeping HHH champ and probably making Batita win the rumble so they face at W.M.21
The Rumble:
If you read my last one on HHH Vs. Orton, must I explain again? Plain and simple: Batista
I know to a near certainty that JBL is keeping the gold, mainly because the venue for No Way Out has already advertised JBL v. Big Show for the WWE Title in a Barbed Wire Cage match as the main event. OOPS, SNAFU
It is possible that Lesnar will be the last Smackdown particpant. WWE has only released 29 of 30 wrestlers to be in the Royal Rumble match (15 from RAW, 14 for Smackdown). I don't think it will be Brock, because it's probably better served to advertise him as being there. As sad as it is, there are fans who still want to see him. Hell, I want to see him, but only if he wants to be there. NOT because he wants a big fat paycheck. Then again, it could be the Undertaker. He's gotta win one eventually, as many times as he's come in #30.

You can call this a Spam or a Flame but I honestly do not care. This thread should be called "Pro Fakers Thread". Why do people like wrestling? It is all predecided and none of it is even real. You think people actully get banged up with chairs and thown into fences and then get back up and do it again next week? I doubt it! Someone tell me why you like wrestling even when you know it is fake.
P.S. If you say to look at girls in thongs and whatnot that is alright, but no other exceptions
OK then, why even bother posting? If you don't like something, don't bother discussing it.
Yes, it's fake and pre-determined. So what? It's entertainment. Nobody complains that the people who get shot in soap operas aren't really dead, or that the policemen in CSI don't come round and solve their problems. Just because something isn't real doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. And although it's predetermined and rehearsed, it still takes amazing athletic ability to do what they do.
Oh, and how do you fake getting thrown into a fence? It's not like it can be made of something collapsible, because that's what the fans lean on. Yeah, the chairs they use are plastic, but that's still got to hurt a lot, being hit hard over the head.
Well you gave a answer as harsh as it may be. You make good points but I still just do not understand why organizers and promoters keep going on saying it is fake. When you watch CSI or a Soap they do not try and tell you it is real. Also it is based on realistic situations....Well Soaps are not but then again I do not watch them either.
I trained as a wrestler for over TWO YEARS, and I might be a pro wrestler today if i didn't damn near break my neck. While the outcomes of matches/gimmicks are predetermined and somewhat ridiculous, I can assure you that the injuries are real. The athletic ability is real. Fans don't come to the shows or watch on TV to see the storylines/bad actors/goofy gimmicks, they come to see a good wrestling show. The storylines may bring people in, but the wrestling is what hooks them.
And until about 10-12 years ago, promoters went on about it as being REAL, denying that ouucomes are fake. One day, Vince McMahon in his infinite wisdom decided to come right out and say, "Yeah, it's fake. It's entertainment. What? You didn't know that?" That was the official beginning of the "Attitude" era, where guys named the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin became household names. NOw, eveyone knows that the matches are predetermined and guess what, no one cares.
Pro wrestling is designed to have and show "a suspension of disbelief." There are some dumb gimmicks right now for that. We have a superhero (Hurricane), a fitness trainer (Simon Dean), and a few others. They are mainly comedy acts, whether Greg Helms (Hurricane), Mike Bucci (Simon Dean), and the rest want to admit it or not.
As far as your comment goes about seeing girls in thongs, there are far better outlets for that.
As a fan and a former wrestler, I'm personally insulted by what you said. You have every right to feel the way you do, but don't come on this thread to bash the rest of us about it. IF you want, you can make an anti-wrestling thread and go to town on it.
There is one sure-fire solution though. If you don't like wrestling or its fans, there isn't anything forcing you to post on this thread or even watch it on TV. We are fans of the business and the sport of wrestling (and it is a sport), and nothing you say can change that. [/rant]

I am sorry, maybe I was not clear enough. I have nothing agiasnt Wrestling as a sport. Hign school Wrestling and the like is a great sopt that takes much skill and practice. I admire them. However professinal Wrestling like the WWE and whatnot are the ones I dislike as those are fake. Once again I apoligize if I was unclear.
@Darksteel Underpants: I fully agree wholeheartedly with everything you said there. Preach on dude :D.
@SorryGuy: We watch pro-wrestling because it's a form of "escape" from reality, just as a movie is. Every Monday and Thursday night, for 2 hours each, WWE fans are able to sit down, relax, and have fun. Yes, McMahon's decision to come right out and say "the outcomes are fake" is debatable, but I'd still be entertained just as much (barring any more horrible storylines *cough*Katie Vick*cough*) if he hadn't. Those people who watch it with a jaded attitude and keep asking "why?" shouldn't complain. I hate reality TV shows, but instead of constantly asking "why?", I change the channel. The superstars go out there and, like them or not, bust their @$$es for every fan out there, from a packed crowd of 20,000 to a barn that seats 150. If you don't like the storylines, at least admire the athleticism and the will to sacrifice any given body part for devoted fans, not to mention the lost time with families. There are guys out there who not only missed the births of their children, but other momentous occasions in their kids' lives as well. All for the sake of putting on a show to entertain others. They get about a week or two off every year, that's it. Basically, the WWE is there for its fans every week, whether a war is going on, or a vast political scandal has been uncovered. In fact, as a devoted fan myself, I can remember finding out events in the news through watching wrestling as a 3 year old. So please, if you don't like what you see, don't insult the wrestlers or fans, just change the channel and stop complaining.
-MV2 :fingers:
EDIT: *reads sorryguy's post*. Pro-wrestling may have fixed outcomes, but tell me: when a 250 lb. guy lifts a 470 lb guy on his shoulders, is he faking the lift? Think about what the word fake means, and also what context it's used in describing WWE. And for pete's sake, don't go into a thread marked "Pro-Wrestling" and insult the sport and its fans. It's like a metal fan going into a dance club and whining about the techno. It's a moot point buddy.
I really dont bother entering this debate. Its just grown men beating each other up.. oooh! so fun ^^ Id rather watch something fun.. like sheep herding..

* At the end, Cena and Batista went over the rope and hit the floor "together" (Batista hit the ground first, but let's keep that quiet ;)). Vince McMahon came out and ordered a restart, which Batista won. Apparently they were never meant to both go out, and Vince booked the restart on the fly. Hey, now Cena's got a good reason to go after the title and to turn heel. Face Batista to Smackdown, heel Cena to Raw would do nicely, thanks.
Heel Cena to RAW? You're killing me.
With no Cena there is little or no reason to watch Smackdown.
Since I don't have cable Cena leaving Smackdown will be devastating.

Legacy love.

P.S. If you say to look at girls in thongs and whatnot that is alright, but no other exceptions
[/rant]

Just add me on msn if you have any questions or just want to talk
Heel Cena to RAW? You're killing me.
With no Cena there is little or no reason to watch Smackdown.
Since I don't have cable Cena leaving Smackdown will be devastating.
