Right now, there aren't really any fights to be too terribly excited about. The Elite XC fights are sub par.. especially the CBS card on the 4. The Bisping-Leben card is..eh. Only fight interest is the Main Event, in which I think Leben bust Bisping's brit ass up. The Silva-Cote fight is gonna suck. The Spider is gonna whoop Cote ass in less then 90 seconds. The Rest of that card rocks.
The Fight Night last Wedsenday was pretty Nice. All the fights were solid. Fight of the night was probably the Mac Danzig-Clay Guida fight. That was a fight between two bad ass fighters. That was heart, ladies and Gentlemen.
not looking forward to Lesner Couture fight??..i didnt read the other pages so it might have been thouroghly debated
but i think thatll be a great test to see how explosive and powerful Lesnar really is...as much as a dick that he looked to be in his last fight, he looked like he overmatched just about anyone...but i wont put anything past Couture, sure he may be old, but that guy has vast experience and can actually fight unlike another old guy (Shamrock)..
that fight should be well worth it
best fight ive ever seen was the WEC fight up in Sacramento when Pulver vs. Faber...and the bantamweight fight between the Japanese guy and Torres, wow what a lucky fight i got to go see(first one ever in person)...but that Liddell vs. Rashad fight was just such a good KO that it competes with when Crocop got KTFO and looked like he twisted his leg in 2
i surely hope to see Kimbo destroy Shamrock, i just hate Shamrock- he lost all credit from me when he went to WWF

Say, I say the end of the fight, briefly, but what did Brock do in his last fight to earn the "dick"appellation? Just curious, as I've really enjoyed Lesnar's work in the WWE and his ascent in MMA. Does anyone else think it's early to offer him a shot at the title? And does anyone else think that the UFC is kinda hoping Brock wins it? I just get the feeling. In any case, can't wait to see it. I got Lesnar. I'd really like to see it go into the later rounds though, just to see how Brock handles it, his conditioning, etc.

Got some spare time, check out my blog, it's my first one, but it's pretty fun so far. Thanks! http://agentbill.blogspot.com/
did you see the endless taunting he was doing to his opponent? even after the fight was over he was mocking the guy on the ground...the funny part is that im a Lesnar fan and would like to see nothing else than for him to win the title, hes just a freakish being.
i think at his weight class and his talent it might be a little early but in the end its all about money and he can sure bring it in for the UFC..why wouldnt the UFC want him to win, he might as well be there golden boy now that liddell is dropping off the ranks quite a bit..Brock is just a freak that can outmuscle just about anyone and is as explosive a fighter for his size that ive seen: if he can only find a real ground game outside wrestling

Look, Lesnar is a beast, but 2 things on him. First of all, He talked **** about Fedor(Fedor would tear him up, probably in less then 2 minutes). Second, He has fought 3 times, 2 of which were REAL opponents. Did you see what Mir did to him? He should NOT be fighting for the title. The reason he is? Money. Dana White is more interested in putting out a marketable product then a legitimate one. Another HUGE reason is that White and the UFC has 3 good Heavyweights, 2 of which are slated to fight for the Interim Belt. So Couture can't fight Nog or Mir. That pretty much leaves...Fabricio Werdum or Gabrial Gonzaga..which are not Household names. Cheick Kono just lost to Herring and Herring Just lost to Brock. So the choices were Brock, Werdum, or Gonzaga. Obviously you know who is gonna sell(mainly due to the aged WWF fans who have actually discovered real fighting). The only thing that Brock "Roids" Lesnar has in his favor is that no body can knock him out(beside Fedor). "The Natural" is going to have to get on the ground( not hard against Lesnar) and submit him from the bottom like Mir did. That is Lesnar's only weakness. His ground Jiu-Jitsu skills are questionable. oh and In case you didn't know. Couture is alot better then both Mir and Heath Herring.
But ya. The summary of above. Brock Lesnar is the only popular Heavyweight able to fight Couture( Nog and Mir coaching TUF). Couture submits Lesnar from the bottom.
As for the Yoshiro Maeda vs Miguel Torres. I watched that fight live. OMG. Such a good fight. The Pulver vs Faber fight was also amazing. Most memorable fight I ever saw Live was UFC 48. When Mir broke Tim Sylvia's Arm.
Well... Kimbo Slice just got KTFO in 14 seconds by some replacement fighter named Seth Petruzelli who replaced Ken Shamrock hours before the fight.
What a way to have all that you built just come crashing down like that. Kimbo billed himself as being able to take on anyone at anytime... but he got exposed in 14 seconds... not that he wasn't exposed to anybody with half an understanding of MMA.

No offense, but is this truly a victory for MMA fans? Or just for UFC junkies.
Truth be told, Kimbo is/was never really a good fighter when it comes to a real mma fight. But he served a purpose: his "hype" machine got people tuned in for elite's mmam coverage including the other mma fights. So people got to see the other fights on the card, and might decide to look at mma in the future (or buy ppv mma events).
Kimbo never really was meant to get already MMA fans into watching the show, but rather to get new fans into watching MMA.
At this point, his allure is more or less gone and Elite's sole attraction for non mainstream fans is Gina Carano, whose star power will likely last one more fight (I expect her to lose to cyborg in the inevitable next fight). And even then, a female fighter won't draw in as many non fans as a big guy like Slice would.
If UFC had a network deal then this wouldn't be as big a deal, but truth be told, it probably would benefit from Elite's CBS broadcasts (and Kimbo) doing well, despite what Dana white might say.

It is from the standpoint that anyone who knows even the slightest bit about MMA knew Kimbo was a fraud. I KNEW he wasn't a good fighter and was just tired of hearing all the undeserved hype. The guy was just to draw a crowd, hence my "propaganda" comment. I like MMA in general whether it's Elite XC, WEC, the former Pride, Dream, Affliction, or the UFC. Kimbo losing is a victory for fans like myself who appreciate REAL MMA fighters, not an overglorified publicity stunt who made a name for himself off of youtube viewers and cupcakes.

What does that mean? Fine, you were rooting against him. Great. But for the sport in general, it was probably a negative result. You might not want to admit that, but even "overglorified publicity stunt"s do have their place in publicizing the sport.

Wow, I was so excited about that match that I watched the replay of UFC 86 on Spike, which I'm assuming was a very deliberate move by Dana White to steal some of EliteXC's thunder.

Kimbo is not a MMA fighter. He's a street fighter. I (and fans like myself) appreciate fighters who actually put in work in all aspects of the game and earn their name and spot with hard work as opposed to those like Kimbo who get it off of reputation and hype (youtube). I understand why they were doing it and I understand it's place, but that doesn't mean I have to respect his ability or how he got where he is. His loss doesn't hurt MMA nearly as much as it hurts Elite XC but even with him they were struggling.
Yeah I'm kind of embarrassed for Kimbo. He didn't even really look like he got hit that hard by any of those punches. In the end he didn't look like he knew how to defend himself. If he had any kind of ground game at all he would have survived that.
