RANT RANT RANT. Way to many devations from the original story lines to be pulled off. OMG, ok so the movie was fine for about the first hour and then when they did the whole board thing I just relized how bad the rest of the movie was gona be. Sadly it was worse than I had expected even. Doom coming back was fine cause he does hundreds of times, it was how that pissed me off. But not showing a real form of galactis, and making surfer lose his powers off the board were just plain upseting. Let alone at the end of the movie he still summons his board even though he is not spose to have powers without it..... Either way how they averted galactis this time was fine but the non comic reader is not going to understand they galactis wasn't destroyed just blackholed away. Which is fine seeing how he comes back multiple times and they just chase him off or teleport him away some how every time.
And alba's asking the director to "dirty her character up" did let her acting show through more it was nice to see it.

I will play what wins, not what is convenient. Personal preference is nothing, The win is all that matters. I will netdeck at every opportunity, but I will not let that stifle my creativity. Style points do not appear on tournament reports. A good deck with an incompetent pilot is nothing more than a dressed up match win. I will crush my opponent mercilessly, and expect no less from him. Victory is its own reward, The prize is just a bonus.
Legacy is dying
I didn't like it. I didn't hate it but I expected to feel more of one emotion than the other. Glad I only paid 4 dollars to watch it.
Also, Galactus is NOT a giant cloud in this movie. In fact he's IN the cloud. You can see his headdress in the shadow it casts on Saturn. You can also see his face in the cloud when silver surfer explodes to kill Galactus.
At least that's what I got from it.
I did thoroughly enjoy Chris Evans once again portraying the hot and sometimes shirtless Human Torch. Honestly the only redeeming part I found in the movie
I liked it quite a bit. It wasn't very comic-y but I enjoyed it as an explode-a-fest.
I didn't approve of the way they portrayed Galactus, since I love the "big man in space with a purple helmet" look, but that's just me. I did love the Surfer though. Whoever that actor was, they did it damn well. I can only hope the Surfer movie is with that actor.!
Talk about bad, johnny geting all 4 powers? WTH was that?
agreed fishbourne was a great casting job

This movie pissed me off more than anything. Here's why:
I really got pissed off when the FantastiCar was unveiled only to show huge frigging Dodge logos all over it! "Hemi?" "Of course!" Tell me, what the hell on earth does an internal combustion engine actually DO when the car can FREAKING FLY!? Oh, and the Surfer losing his powers cause he lost his board, WTF??? His powers come from the cosmos themselves, that's why he's known as having the POWER COSMIC. Last I checked, Cosmic =/= from his damn surfboard! Lastly, I was really looking forward to actually seeing the REAL Galactus, not some freaking cosmic cloud. Ooohhh, what's it gonna do, make me choke on dust? And how does a cloud eat a planet anyway? If it's true that Galactus is actually hidden somewhere in the cloud, I might suck it up and check it out again. Seeing that cloud made me walk out of the theater. Actually, I walked out when Galactus was destroyed, which CAN'T HAPPEN! He eats planets for meals, but the Surfer just exploded and killed him? I DON'T THINK SO! Oh, and as for Alba requesting that her character get "dirtied up," I didn't see any of that. She was pretty much spending the whole movie whining about how she would never have a normal life and everything.
Here's hoping that there's a Silver Surfer movie where the characters are acuratly portrayed.

Did anyone else notice there was more chemistry between Johnny Storm and Sue Storm than there was between Sue and Reed? that was kinda awkward feeling. Especially when there should have been more chemistry between Reed and Johnny >_<...erm......yeah
I didn't like Alba as the invisible woman. She doesn't look like Johnny's sister at all and I think they cast Johnny correctly.
I think you are Biased blue, and just jealous his sister can get closer to him than you ever could :-P
Though I admit, there was one scene where it really felt like they were going to kiss...and it seemed a natural enough thing it wouldn't have bothered me at all.

See that's what I mean. They seemed more natural together than Reed and Sue and not in a brother sister kind of way. If seeing them do incestual things doesn't make you uncomfortable then you're either "pro incest" or they've got way more chemistry than they're supposed to.
I saw it opening day. The last time I was so bored at the movies was during the first Fantastic Four. Don't know why I thought it would be any better this time; I've learned my lesson.

Not necessairly "pro" but not morally against it. I could open a huge discussion and debate on it but this is the entertainment section, not debate and such a talk would likely lead to warnings and such. PM me if you want elaboration and we will keep this on topic.
@Galactus : They definately managed to keep him looking believable to the layman/non fan and at the same time drop a few hints for the real fans. I am seeing the Cloud as his ship/home. As i stated, we should "see" more of him in the Surfer movie.
This Movie made Doom seem more like Doom. The first one, he was really underplayed. This one, he actually did what I believe Doom would do;
Try to recruit/con Surfer, Failing that try and destroy him, side with humanity to save the world (his home) and once he feels it is safe backstab everyone for cosmic power.
I agree with Sakura about the Doom part. That's exactly what he would have done.
I saw it a couple days ago, and I have to say, I thouroughly enjoyed it. My only real complaints are the following:
The fight with Doom really didn't last long at all. I seriously think he would have put up more of a fight than that.
The surfer is a telletubby!
If the SS could do that to Galactus the whole time, why would he wait for some random girl to say "You always have a choice"?
Those are my only complaints. Otherwise, I found it very enjoyable and an overall good movie. And let me also say, I am biased AGAINST the FF. I really don't like them.
Because he did not actually destroy him. All he did was send him away, which likely made him really mad. I would imagine the G man would be heading for Noran's home now, which gives us plot for the Surfer movie. Probably Surfer trying to stop Galactus from devouring his home, with flashbacks to when he made the original agreement.
I do not like the FF much either, except Franklin. He is awesomeness with feet.

Thats just the actor. I love the way Doom was written. I hate the actor. It seems they had to make an excuse to show how pretty his face is, so wrote some face time for him. I did not like that too much. I also hate how he sounds exactly the same in his armor as he does out of it, and whether flesh or metal. Yet Thing has a different voice?!?
Even Johnies voice didn't change when he had Thing's powers.
Don't read this unless you believe me, because I'm going to spoil a lot of stuff.
First of all, the acting: watching Jessica Alba play anyone with a brain is hard to believe, watching her try to display emotion is physically painful.
The black general guy comes in with the ability to play one emotion, apparently, and they don't let up through the whole movie. This may be more of a writing issue, actually, but when the biggest interpersonal drama in the whole show (disregarding the Sue/Reed relationship, which was actually completely irrelevant to the plot) is based off a minor character whose name is only mentioned once, you'd think it would be because he was capable of pulling it off believably. No dice.
Actually, Sue can hardly be blamed for not having chemistry with Reed, though. He's the most boring person imaginable. The only reason I'm not calling him a worse actor than Sue is because his character is actually supposed to be dull.
Second of all, the writing: there are so many idiotic things about this movie that I'm sure I've only managed to remember a few. To start with, though, the Surfer comes back and the first thing he does is accidentally revive Doom. Come. On. Can you honestly not come up with a better scenario than that? Then Doom, with his Latverian technology manages to instantly track down the Surfer when everyone else is scrambling to do exactly the same thing with far more resources. How? It's a plot device, right. I even suppose that that part is forgivable. But then we get to the really impressive part, where I become convinced that the only reason this movie got made was so that Doom could come back, and they hired writers who could completely skim over how that happened so that Doom could have as much face time as possible. He talks with Surfer, who gets angry and blasts him, and somehow, this magically, unexplainably, screamingly bad writing causes him to heal completely back to flesh, without affecting his powers at all.
Speaking of stupid effects that the Surfer's ability had, he affects Johnny's ability when he comes into contact with him so that he switched powers with everyone else when he touched them, and yet somehow, this effect is not repeated anywhere else in the movie. Plot device, okay, whatever. The really great thing is that the only explanation we get of any kind is that the Surfer gives off radiation 'similar to the kind that gave us our powers.' Woohoo! Now we know everything we need to use this tremendous coincidence to our advantage when Doom becomes all powerful, by all of us touching Johnny at once! Wait...what?
Surfer's powers get very little treatment by sense anyway. Apparently, Surfer looks like he does whether he's away from the board or not. The board just makes him look shiny. It doesn't affect how Doom looks, though. And can you explain exactly how Doom managed to figure out how to control the board without ever getting closer than 10 feet from it. Would it have been so unreasonable to actually give him 10 minutes to study it before he went on a rampage with perfect control over all its powers?
And when he killed the general, what were we supposed to feel? The only thing the general had done was be unpleasant and hostile, so were we supposed to cheer for Doom? The general had no redeeming qualities for us to reflect on. In fact, the whole situation is the general's fault in the first place, because he's the one who invited Doom onto the project. (Speaking of which, that was never explained. Doom just showed up with his absolute trust. I guess the best explanation is that he hates Reed, so doing insanely idiotic things just to spite him makes sense.)
Don't even get me started on the whole marriage issue. Sue and Reed are gonna get married, right? That's a major part of the plot, right? So why does it have absolutely no impact on the plot? That's just bad writing. If it had never happened, all the explosions would have happened in exactly the same way.
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.
'Welcome to Mafia Salvation', it said, 'Population: 3,660.' And someone, they never figured out who, had painted on the sign in red letters: '1,831 to lynch.'

Take a risk boys, geeze.
I don't find his face that pretty. Cole is no Cupid.
Anyone else get a darth sidious vibe from those scenes?
Doom seemed highly irrelevant in this movie even with such an important role

I did... for sure. In fact, I even turned to my fiance and asked him if Emperor Palpatine had stumbled in to the wrong movie?
I also think Sue and Johnny's chemistry was downright freaky.

Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared...saying don't be afraid
Come on baby...and she had no fear
And she ran to him...then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodby...she had become like they are
She had taken his hand...she had become like they are
Come on baby...don't fear the reaper

Not the greatest movie, but better than people are giving it credit for. The things I did not think I would like, I actually enjoyed.
The ending has a feeling of "wow, this ending did not test well, lets redo it at the last minute."
They did that in the first one, the original ending was different.
