Thanks for reading my 100 Greatest Guitarists of all time, if you can I would like some feedback thx.

Not to say that I agree with this list but discuss all the same.
I don't see B.B. King on the list, which kinda deflates it.

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
67. Tom Morello - Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave
I dare say he should be ranked considerably higher on the list. The techniques he came up with in RATM within the constraints of "live recording" are fascinating.
And this list is seriously devoid of some notable blues players like B.B. King and Robert Johnson.
As for King Crimson putting two people on this list: I saw them live as part of the HORDE Festival in '96 (which included some great performances by Rusted Root, Lenny Kravitz, and Blues Traveler) and they were unlistenable.

As I said, the list isn't correct persay. If you look, (some of) you guys are seing biased to the type of music you like. This guy is trying to be as non-biased as possible. Ok, he might not like Jazz, but for a list of the top 100 (which are always hard to make ) guitarist of all time, this is more then decent.
I mean, I still think that the guitarists of Phish should be there, but this is a start. Maybe you guys could post your revised top 100 with your favorite gutarists?
I honestly can't think of 100 guitarists I'd even feel like ranking... but I can definitely say that my top 20 would only contain about FIVE of the guys in his top 20.

Jeff Beck at #3. Give me a ****ing breaking. I'd place Michael Hedges in that spot. And my dog can play a better guitar than Robbie Krieger (though my dog is pretty talented, even without thumbs). Anyway Kreiger sucks in a bad, bad ass-sucking way.
And as much as I liked Rush in middle school, Lifeson has no place on that list. Though seeing Steve Howe at #20 makes me smile. 8^)
Phil Keaggy is intersting at #12. Because he is unbelievably amazing, certainly not better than Hedges, but damn good. But I still don't know in which universe he's better than say Buckethead or Knopfler.
A. I agree with the top two, though I think they should be reversed.
B. Johnny Lang isn't on that list. Johnny freaking Lang isn't in the top 100 listed in that list, but freaking Prince is at 63? That's just silly. Listen to Smokin' by Lang, then we'll talk.
I just realized somebody else absent from this list that really deserves a place: Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac. His playing as of late is as good as, if not better, then Mac in their heyday. Just listen to his solo version of "Big Love" on The Dance and tell me how somebody can play that song using only two hands.

He's an incredible accoustic guitarist. I have his cd Intuite, and you'd think there are multiple ppl playing. Nope, just him.
Bensusan is amazing. It is a shame he was omitted, but the list obv had a strong rock-bias to it. I have several of his cds too, and it sounds like several people are playing because he occasionally overdubs solo, or more commonly, plays against loops created by his JamMan or other gear that creates (long) delay effects.
As I noted earlier, Phil Keaggy made the list, if you haven't heard him, I'm sure you'd dig him too. Really amazing acoustic stuff--though Keaggy's an awesome electric player too.
I, as well, find it bone-chilling that B.B. King is not on this list. Then again, I would like to see what criteria was used. While King isn't the greatest Technically, the emotions he can get out of Luceille has left me breathless on more than one occasion..
Jimmy Page and Jimmy Hendrix should be switched. As well as Stevie Ray Vaughn and Joe Satriani. While Summer Song by Joe is one of my favorite all time riffs, it doesn't even compare to anything Stevie has done, especially Vaughn's rendition of Little Wing.
I'm surprised Rik Emmit (Triumph) didn't get a mention. Is Mike Campbell (Petty and the Heartbreakers) on that list? The solo from "Running Down a Dream" is, imho, one of the best ever.

Magic is a battlefield now? I thought Love was a battlefield.... wait Mark Rosewater is Pat Benatar?

Agreed.
And as far as I'm concerned, Beck and Clapton can be dropped altogether. Blaspheme though that may sound, they're so freaking boring.

Interesting list...I don't agree with all of it though...

1. Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman (Slayer)
2. Kirk Hammet (Metallica)
3. Dimebag Darrell (Pantera, Damage Plan, etc.)
4. Tom Morello (Ratm, Audioslave)
5. Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance (Avenged Sevenfold)
(It's not that I am such a fan, but he is seen as one of the greates jazz guitarists ever).
These are the decks that I have constructed, and are ready to play:
01. Ankh Sligh to be exact.
