not one mention of shadowfist... that's a shame, because shadowfist was a great game... actually i think they are stillmaking the game so maybe the past tense is wrong there...
games i've played (used to be a member of New England Playtesters Association):
Ultimate Combat (still have playtest versions of the cards with squared corners)
Illuminati
Galactic Empires
Mythos
Rage
Wyvern (almost the worst game ever...)
Redemption (the worst game ever)
Spellfire
On The Edge (great game)
Shadowfist (great game)
Jyhad (which became Vampire: The Etrnal Struggle, which is one of the best CCG games ever made. still has a good player base in many areas of the world.)
there are probably about a dozen others that i'm fogetting the names of...
i really wish there was a market for any of those games other than Jyhad (already selling those cards off...)...

That's not true :smile2:. Yes the company that makes shadowfist still makes it, they came out with the latest expansion late last year and are making a huge(i believe 500 or so cards) set for this summer. It's being made so you can now draft Shadowfist.
So has anyone tried out Anachronism yet? I kind of laughed at it earlier but it's a pretty great game.

The History Channel produced game? While I haven't tried it out for myself, it does seem to be interesting at least. The one thing I do have to note about the game without trying it however is how heavy the actual card stock is. It's literally a block of cardboard. That makes me assume that the game doesn't involve shuffling, as doing so would most likely cause the cards to break or crimp down the center...
I definitely do want to find out a bit more about the game though. I'll probably read up on the rules sometime this weekend.
My main game is Magic. I've previously played:
Pokemon: First tcg i've ever owned. My decks were horrible, but after 2 years of Magic, making decks that were good or synergetic was easier. i also played it on the GBC; it was hellava lotta fun.
Yu-Gi-Oh: my cousin has like 2 starter decks so occasionally, if there was nothing to do, we would make two smaller decks and play with those.
Vs. System: I just know the jist of the rules, i've played like 1 semi-game and it was pretty fun.
DualMaster: i read the rules for this game; at least there's no mana screw. Like i said before, simple tcg's are easier after gaining some Magic experience.
These are the only ones i have any knowledge about. :/
Games I have played at some point in time:
MTG(duh)
Yugioh(I made some nice cash off of selling the stuff after it began to die. I got most of the stuff cheap anyway, so a free $100 is nice).
Pokemon(Most of us started off playing this, as did I, and graduated into more advanced stuff like MTG. There was too much luck involved, which is probably why it's dead now)
VS System(I would play more, but there isn;t much a community for it around here, which suprises me)
Warlord
Cyberpunk
Wheel of Time CCG
MLB Showdown
Duel Masters
I believe that's it. I like variety, but MTG is still the King of the CCG world.
I played Pokemon back when every playable card was a freaking bomb. Professor Oak was a one-sided Wheel of Fortune. Pokemon games back then ended faster than the Tolarian Academy games of PTQ Rome back then. Whoever went first won. Period.
I also have played Yu-Gi-Oh. My younger sister continues to do so.
Mostly, it's Magic, Magic, and then Magic.
For the record, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh aren't dead, they're just not as big as they were a few years ago. This is especially true for Pokemon after WotC sold the rights to the CCG to Nintendo.

Trikings is making the game, and their website has all the information on the game including the rules. The game only really takes about a few minutes to read and understand. The card stock is indeed much thicker(mainly because you warrior is actually moving on a 3x3 grid) and your 'deck' is only 4 cards for each warrior you use. Lots of dice rolling involved as well.

its actually a 4x4 grid and the game is totally addicting. Anachronism comes out next month or so, awesome stuff... My friends and i play it currently, I actually started a Anachron thread itself, If you want to talk strategy or rules please post there 8^)
I have and always will play magic. But besides Magic I played:
Digimon- My Second most favortive CCG Ever sadly only had 2 set in english.
Pokemon- Still have most of my Second Collection
Yu-Gi-Oh- Nobody played magic in school until I taught a friend
Anachronism- Hey Free From Inquest
I can't nobody else here never play Digimon.... That't kind of sad for me

Next to magic I play Duelmasters, which is a neat game, and Call of Cthulhu CCG ( http://www.cthulhuccg.com/ ) which is REALLY REALLY good. V:TeS, Neopets, YGO... you name it, I have played it.
But I REALLY like Cthulhu: Pretty cards, dark theme, and a darn good system humming underneath.
Arkham, the 1920's. Investigators battle horrors from beyond time and space, risking life and sanity while conspiracies of cultists and malign servitors seek gateways for their outer gods to return...
Soon, the stars will be right! Great Cthulhu shall rise!
