It's looking more and more like Trump vs. Bernie. I can't believe it is going to be another one of those "vote for the Democrat or be racist" elections. We've just come off two of those in a row and honestly Bernie scares me a lot more than Barack Obama ever did. How many pairs of candidates have there been in our peace-time history that could create the kind of wide-spread antagonism among the people that these two are capable of? Once or twice before the civil war, that's all I can think of.

Bernie terrifies the ***** out of me.Not because of his socialist agenda. I can live with that. I already pay a crap ton of taxes and I'd be fine with taking advantage of the things he wants to make happen, as I'd be paying for them anyways (most likely).
It's the political correct, safe space, hug box that he's pushing. Completely ignoring the radicalism of his supporters and their relentless assault against the first ammednment sets a precedent. And not to mention how he wants to open the borders up and take in refugees. It's like his supporters are completely ignoring what's happening in Europe (They are.) Because they really believe that a large group of people who were raised entirely different than the West, with entirely different values, would just come here and assimilate and not do exactly what they are doing in Germany, Sweden, Paris, etc here in America. SJW's are so incredibly disconnected from reality it's honestly amazing.
Also, the whole fire arms thing. First step in a Totalitarian society starts with education (Which is why I want common core repealed so badly). Once the guns start getting taken away, well..

Can't follow with you there. Sander's main audience are white college students and working class folks. Clinton's the one that draws on the black vote - hence her victories in the South. Sanders might be a self-identifying socialist, but there are conservatives that absolute loathe Hillary Clinton.
Sorry, I should have said "A decent paycheck". Go look it up yourself, I'm not uninformed. It's one of the many reasons I don't like him, having come from nothing and made a decent living for myself at 26 while not running around advocating communist agenda's to help myself off the backs of those who work hard.
You know who else came from nothing? Bernie. Then he went on to become the mayor of his city, got elected to the US Senate running as an Independent and became one of the most well respected US Senators with the highest approval rating in the entire country. It's sad that you somehow think that because you got a decent job in your mid-twenties that you can look down your nose at this man.
Trump turned $1mil into billions. Bernie has been making six figures for 30 years and has a net worth of a round $400k. No thanks, I'll stick with Donald on knowing how to handle the economics of the greatest nation on the planet.
Business does not equal economics. Trump knows nothing of economics. His policies prove that. Recall his studies were in real estate. I'll take the honest candidate with an extensive political career over a professional liar/thief any day of the week. The funniest part is that you believe him when he says he is worth Billions. His name as a brand (which he also inherited) is worth 3 billion but his personal worth is only around 250 million, but does that even matter when he accumulates his wealth through scams. Is this really the person you want with the launch codes?
The presidential candidate for the Republican party needs to be two things. The first is that he needs to be electable. The second is that he needs to be someone who can bring the country together to unify as opposed to bringing more divisiveness.
Not really sure how Trump is going to claim that.
So the Republican candidate needs to bring people together, like Obama did?
Trump loves America. He wants we the people to win. I hope that meritocracy reigns supreme in this galaxy from now till infinity, meaning that the era of participation trophies is over. Asians have their test scores lowered while blacks are increased, so that the % of races getting into Universities is "fair" around the country. That is a racist as firk policy right there!! That kind of "thinking" needs to stop, and fast. For this country to be great again, we need the best people in the most important positions. I don't care about skin color or gender or age or religion or sexual preference or etc... I just want the best people possible taking care of me and my loved ones at the bank, in the hospital, on boats, in government, on farms, roads, planes etc. All of this special attention for as many possible "victim" groups they can fabricate is, has been, and will always be pure BS!! Treat everyone great, unless they are a total jerk. Then just avoid that person if at all possible.

But, to blame him entirely for the events of tonight is like blaming a car for running someone over and the driver having no fault.
I don't think anybody here is doing that. Obviously, any participant in violence is responsible for their own actions. When Trump supporters have taken swings at demonstrators, they are at fault for that too. However, the fact that Trump is standing up there at the podium and literally saying, "Punch that guy in the face", is still pretty damn abominable.
You say you care about free speech, but you're supporting a man who is openly calling for political violence. It's like you said:

Nah, I'm not talking about the black vote, though I do believe that Bernie is making gains there of late. I'm talking about the Democrat gaining the anti-racist vote by default. And not in the usual way, but by contrast to their over the top opponent.

Are you implying that being a public servant isn't work? I certainly never implied that you didn't work for what you've achieved. The fact that he didn't get rich off his political career doing favors for the wealthy, and that the approval of his constituents is through the roof, should tell you how hard he works for the people he represents and the kind of human being he is.

Government controlled education is already a massive failure. How anyone thinks giving even more control on education to the government via free-community college is beyond me. And we wonder why nearly all college freshman are democrats. This ties into the whole conspiracy theory that Democrats want to open the borders to 'recruit more democrats', as immigrants tend to side with democrats heavily. With the exception of Indians, which isn't really all that shocking considering how conservative their culture is. I don't care for conspiracy theories, however, but this one seems to make a little bit of sense at least.
I wonder how you would react if a big adult male began swearing at you, and then pushed or hit your significant other. Would you fight back? Or is that always abominable?
I'm a hardcore Trump support, dude. I own merchandise and participate in campaigns in real life and on social media as well as go door to door to speak with people and convince the to vote for Trump. That being said, Trump has people in his rallies yelling "White power" at protestors along with actually assaulting other protesters. And to answer your question, I have a Concealed Weapons Permit for a reason. I don't have to fight anyone. I'm not intimidating at all physically. I don't put myself into situations where violence can happen to me for this reason alone. If someone is getting in my face I walk away. It's not worth it to me. I can tell you a story about a good friend of mine who didn't do this and spent 7 years of his life in prison for manslaughter. Violence is never worth it.

Protesters at Trump rallies have become increasingly aggressive and rude in recent weeks. The media whines and complains when a protester is hit or knocked down, and consistently fails to mention that the protesters almost always start the violence. Screaming and swearing and wearing vulgar shirts is an attempt to intimidate, silence, and/or censor. Free speech OUTSIDE the venue is appropriate, including passionate chanting and clever/strong signs and such.
So trump can say rude hateful messages and its okay but if one of his protesters says anything his supporters don't like then its a free invitation to punch them from behind? I'm not following your logic mate.
When did I recommend punching someone from behind--or any other direction/location--because of a political disagreement? You are not following my logic because YOU made up a straw man. That tactic never works on me, fyi.
Free speech means you allow people to say things that you don't like. Protesters INSIDE a Trump rally do not have the right to try and silence or shut down the event. Disrupting a rally is rude at the very least, and almost always against the law. Exercise free speech OUTSIDE. Show some class INSIDE.
I consider almost everything Obama--and all the other establishment Rs and Ds--stand for to be somewhere between foolish and treasonous. "Vote the bums out" is a WAY better response than intimidation, censorship, and/or violence.
Trump did not turn $1 million into billions. Trump received a $1,000,000 loan from his father. But then he became the president of his father's real estate company, worth hundreds of millions. He then grew that value at a rate a little less than if he had liquidated the company and left the money untouched in an index fund.
Am I supposed to be impressed by this? If you took a second Donald Trump, and he never touched the money he inherited, then he'd be just as rich as the real Donald Trump! This is the business acumen you want running the country?
My "fight back" comment was not addressed to you. I concur 100% with your answer though. I CCW when I work in Seattle, and randomly in other cities too.

You're moving your goalposts. Now the hypothetical protester is starting the fight. But that's not what has actually been happening. This protester threw no punches according to the security personnel who escorted him out.

The level of crony capitalism is, IMO, approaching treasonous levels on both "sides" of the aisle. I won't ever need to prove it in court. Reality will set in before that could ever happen.

Yes, if he just put his inheritance in the bank it would clearly be worth the nearly $10 billion in assets he's worth today. He didn't do anything but go around banging super models in the mean time. Come on, dude.
I know you hate him. I get it. We can still be friends. I have plenty of Bernie supporting friends. MTG caters to college aged males, after all. My point is he has struggled with his business endeavors, it's been really up and down. He has failed quite a lot. He rose from that, be it through scams like you say, though Trump University being the only one I can find actual proof of, or hard work and business deals.
He wrote arguably the book on business. I'd like you to do something for me and watch this video. It's Trump in 88' talking to Oprah. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEPs17_AkTI
After watching that, tell me how you feel?
That is what consistency looks like. I wish he still spoke like this. Idk' if its old aged or a rehearsed and practiced way of speaking. But, if he spoke this way still we'd all be having a very different conversation.

1) I assure you that the protesters are NOT hypothetical.
2) Fights have been started by both sides, as I already stated.
3) Trump supporters have yet to show up by the 100s or 1000s and try to stop anyone else's rally.

5) You still have not apologized for stating that I approve of violence against innocent folks.

According to this article, he should've not done anything but go around banging super models; he'd be richer, anyway. I'd do as I tend to do - someone starts something, I finish it.
What I do find alluring about Trump's campaign (aside from how this election cycle will go down in the history books) is that he's very frank about how the political system works in the states. I get the impression that he knows how to work the system, navigate it, and get results from it. That's what would push my over to his side. If he came up with some definitive proof of what I'm detecting from his campaign, I'd probably go for him over an idealist like Bernie or someone that wants to pick fights with everyone overseas like Hillary. Don't get me started on Tricky Ted.

I appreciate it too. I'm trying my best not to get angry as I get attacked on all sides on this forum. The amount of critical thinking and fat checking I've had to do here has been pretty eye opening and I think I'm better for it.
The thing about sources is, and I've said this before in this thread, is that I can find X+1 articles agreeing with me to your X articles. That doesn't make me right. Nor does it make me wrong. It makes me able to copy and paste a survey written by bias'd journalists and economics.
When you are forced to provide citations for literally everything a lot of the times I find that I'm just showing articles written by pro-Conservative/GOP/Trump authors and putting them against the literal opposite. It's really frustrating because it's hard to figure out who is actually right.
I've used Bernie's policies as a very real clear cut example of this. The right says he's a disaster, the left says he's a disaster, and the far left says he's the second coming of christ. You can see the exact opposite for Trump in that the right thinks he's a disaster, the far right think's he's a total disaster and moderate articles consider him the next revolutionary.
It's head scratching and mind boggling.
There are a few very skilled debates in these threads. Highroller being someone I hate seeing replying to me because I know I'm going to likely lose every single interaction. And that's okay. I'm humble enough to admit I can actually be wrong, and even more humble to say I actually believe he is more intelligent than I am. It happens. It's all in good fun. I've held back calling a few people here Cucks more times than I can count now just as I'm sure they've held back calling me a bigot. No one's perfect.

Treat everyone great, unless they are a total jerk. Then just avoid that person if at all possible.
Corrupt politicians get filthy rich by dividing us up, and manipulating us into hating the other. They are the chief problem. Take the red pill. Escape!
I didn't 'manage' anything. I worked my ass off for it.

Nah, I'm not talking about the black vote, though I do believe that Bernie is making gains there of late. I'm talking about the Democrat gaining the anti-racist vote by default. And not in the usual way, but by contrast to their over the top opponent.
'Whatever' about taxes. The threat of a universal higher education program would be among my chief concerns for some of the reasons you detail in your post.

While Trump's hair is oddly straw-colored, I'm afraid he is a very real man.

2) Fights have been started by both sides, as I already stated.
3) Trump supporters have yet to show up by the 100s or 1000s and try to stop anyone else's rally.
4) One example does NOT prove that all other protesters are innocent.
5) You still have not apologized for stating that I approve of violence against innocent folks.
6) I have the right to defend me and mine from attack. Trump believes people have a right to self defense. Win.
It's not okay when either side starts a fight. But only one side has a candidate for the office of President of the United States standing on stage and saying, "knock the crap out of them".
Which does absolutely nothing to excuse their behavior at their own rallies.
It is not my intention to prove that all protesters are innocent. It is my intention to prove that Trump is whipping his supporters into a violent frenzy. And even one example of violence is one example too many.
I have not stated that you approve of violence against innocent folks. But I have stated, and provided video evidence to support, that Donald Trump approves of violence against innocent folks.
What exactly of yours is a man shouting "Black lives matter!" attacking?
