I don't believe that anyone's rights or freedoms are violated simply through listening and investigation (except on paper). Without whistle blowers, you'd never even know. And if you're NOT part of a terrorist cell making regular communications to known terrorists, or whatever illegal activity, then you really have nothing to worry about. I also don't think we should immediately extend those same constitutional rights to people coming INTO the country.

The Constitution happens to be written on paper. And it says,

So yes, your "belief" notwithstanding, warrantless searches do violate people's rights.

I have actually been waiting on this ever since I found out that both Trump and Cruz were running. Trump has returned to birthism by questioning Cruz's status as a natural born citizen. He was actually rather low key about it and only suggested that if Cruz wins the nomination he might have problems when people challenge his eligibility due to his birth in Canada.

Muslim isn't a race, unless by 'Muslim' we are actually talking about 'people from countries that are dominantly Muslim'.
Islam is a belief system, which means it is actually liable to be fairly criticised as a thing. It is theoretically possible for their to be a justifiable policy of banning Muslim immigration. However, there are no good reasons why ALL Muslims should be treated as such, which makes Trump's idea bigoted whether it is talking about people with Muslim related ethnicity or just Muslims.
If stopping terrorism is your goal, then you should be supporting gun control, counter-terrorism funding, NSA funding or somesuch. It is quite possible for a person ALREADY IN AMERICA to become a Muslim radical, immigration is not the issue here.
About cultural control, this is essentially just hypocrisy. 'Decades ago when we arrived, killed the Native American Culture and took over their country, that was fine, but if Muslim culture takes over now that's so bad and stuff' is not a good argument. Cultures change, deal with it. It's not fair for one culture to decide what cultures are allowed in society. If you're problem with Muslim culture is laws or belief related, then that's not a problem with Immigration but one you have with certain ideas. I don't believe that anyone's rights or freedoms are violated simply through listening and investigation (except on paper). Without whistle blowers, you'd never even know. And if you're NOT part of a terrorist cell making regular communications to known terrorists, or whatever illegal activity, then you really have nothing to worry about. I also don't think we should immediately extend those same constitutional rights to people coming INTO the country.

He has done a complete 180 on gun control, having formerly made statements in favor of an assault weapons ban and lengthened background checks. And he promises to "make America great again" while spitting on the principles that are what actually made America great. This is a country of immigrants -- you can't coherently claim to be standing for this country while standing against immigration. And this is a country of traders -- you can't coherently claim to be standing for this country while standing against free trade.
They also didn't like black people. Because they were racist. But enough of them were enough aware of this country's higher ideals that when they erected the Statue of Liberty, it was not with a stop sign and an inscription of "Go away, brown people." The question here is simple: are you for that American ideal, or against it?

Polling on Trump's muslim ban is all over the place, with numbers as low as 25% or as high as 55%, often with huge support among Republicans. I'm not sure this is a dying idea - it's really the core philosophy of a large swath of right-wing America.
Age of consent is a problem in most places, because sex is that complicated. For example, there was a young white girl under the age of consent, went to a party, had sex with a black man and he was sent to jail for a long time because he was the adult and was lied to by the girl about her age.
Then we have issues with child pornography. A dastardly and ruinous problem, until you have the teenager flashing her breasts on a picture, sending it to her boyfriend and today on a sex offender list as a pedophile for distributing child pornography.
Equally in this country we had teenagers get married and start households and be successfully independent. Which adds an additional problem to traditional concepts on sexuality that we used to have versus that of today. Especially whenever a college education no longer guarantees a good job.

It will die in the sense that it will never come to pass because it contradicts the constitution and the fundamental principles of America. But it will not die in the sense that there will always be a huge number of people who don't believe in American values and support it.

Of course you're allowed to say it (and indeed, you just did). Other people, in turn, are allowed to use their speech to respond to your speech; for example, to say "That's racist". I don't think Highroller proved your point - he didn't say you weren't allowed to say what you said, he just said it was racist.
Muslim isn't a race, unless by 'Muslim' we are actually talking about 'people from countries that are dominantly Muslim'.
Islam is a belief system, which means it is actually liable to be fairly criticised as a thing. It is theoretically possible for their to be a justifiable policy of banning Muslim immigration. However, there are no good reasons why ALL Muslims should be treated as such, which makes Trump's idea bigoted whether it is talking about people with Muslim related ethnicity or just Muslims.
If stopping terrorism is your goal, then you should be supporting gun control, counter-terrorism funding, NSA funding or somesuch. It is quite possible for a person ALREADY IN AMERICA to become a Muslim radical, immigration is not the issue here.
About cultural control, this is essentially just hypocrisy. 'Decades ago when we arrived, killed the Native American Culture and took over their country, that was fine, but if Muslim culture takes over now that's so bad and stuff' is not a good argument. Cultures change, deal with it. It's not fair for one culture to decide what cultures are allowed in society. If you're problem with Muslim culture is laws or belief related, then that's not a problem with Immigration but one you have with certain ideas. Letting people who follow such ideas into your country is not going to stop you from preventing such ideas to spread.

So Sanders, a person who advocates that wealth should be more evenly distributed, is a thief? What, because rich people always deserve to have as much money as they do, and it's not fair for more of it to be given to the poor?
Also, using evil to describe people is not something that lends credibility to your argument unless the person in question has actually done terrible things like murder. You might disagree with them, but makes you think they are not simply misguided, but in fact malicious unless they have done something that is pretty unambiguously bad?

War in the middle east is at least somewhat necessary, that part of the world really needs to improve it's standards and that's not happening on it's own, some intervention is required.
They don't 'work for' anybody, they are influenced by institutional power, yes, but their responsibility is to the people. I understand that democracy is far from perfect, but it's still a thing.

So, no government then? Tax is necessary for government, government is necessary for control, else what you have is total anarchy. Total anarchy is not sustainable- the business will simply become the new government. There will always be people who seek control, and others who wish to be controlled so that there is order in their lives.
Yeah, that will help the poor . Taking the deep plunge into capitalism is going to create more exploitative businesses. It's why most countries are more socialist and less capitalist now than they were at the start of the 20th century.

Given that that is what firearms retailers are required to do now, and all he's doing is clarifying that this applies to gun shows and internet sales as well, scaremongering about this seems like mountain-out-of-molehill material.
