Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
Debate is not a place for "post your thoughts"; that can be done anywhere. Unless there's a premise for debate, I'm going to start closing threads.

I think the problem is tht you phrase your OP's so that there isn't anything to debate. "Post opinions here" isn't exactly a debatable thesis statement.
As for the topic, generally I'd say astrology is bunk. Though the personality profile for Pisces (my sign) up at astrologycom.com is very, very accurate. Not that that gives any more merit to astrology, but it was cetainly col to read when I found it and realized how spot-on it is. I would never plan my life arund what my chart said, but astrology can be a fun little distraction. So my take is junk, but with a side of "it's fun and does no harm so why not?".
Well, let's see what my horoscope is, and you tell me.
from yahoo:
daily work,
it's a good day to use that brain you're so famous for to explore new ideas for approaching potential clients. Communication will come naturally to you and messaging will be effortless.
Alright, well what my day entails is my last day at my boring hotel job, which is really slow. And at the hotel I don't care about approaching new clients, and since it's so slow, I practically never see anyone.
I'm pretty certain no one is going to be defending astrology, but it's predictions are so vague and generic that it has no purpose.
It does work. Its just that the Universe is expanding, causing the celestial bodies to change their configuration... 'n stuff. So Astrology needs a revision to keep up with the changing stars.

on a more rational side - I doubt that astrology as presented in the papers has any bearing or relevance, as simple logic dictates that there are about 500,000,000 people with each sign.
On a less generalized level, however, it may or may not have validity - I don't think it's a testable hypotheosis, actually.
Thus, the only horoscopes I will follow are those contained in The Onion.
Astrology can be fun. I like to listen to it when it is benificial. But I don't base my life on it or anything.

Stop making threads, and lurk in this forum to understand how the forum actually works, instead of assuming you know how it works, posting a thread with little to no content or argument behind it, then getting mad at the mods for closing it. Also, the stars have aligned in such a way to tell me that this thread is going to be closed.

Deso, seriously, that's going to be a flame warning. Don't respond to criticism with flames.
Alfred was (albeit rudely) trying to give you some pointers so that your threads won't start getting closed. Which this one likely will very soon.
Astrology is hard to believe in, to be honest. It makes life alot less mysterious. However, if you pay close attention to real astrology(none of that horoscope at the grocery store nonsense), it does ring true, very often.
I think the book, The Dogs of Bable gives a pretty realistic evalutation of atrology, psychic readings, etc. . . The book alludes to the fact that fortune-telling is a multi-million dollar business because a common person with natural psycho-analytic abilities can make a living by giving advice without the need to substantiate his or her assertions.
The psychic can be a priest, a psychoanalyst, or a shoulder to cry on if need be. It fills a need. That is why I think such unscientific predictions\guidance continue to be sucessful throughout societies and history.
Also, I hope this thread is not locked, it is a pretty worthwhile question, just thread posters need to focus their questions/points a little before posting. But, if it is original like this thread, I think the rest of us can help elaborate a tad. My 10 cents.

But back to the discussion:
Time and Space are connected. So when planets and stars move, Time feels it. You know that light you see in the sky? From stars and things? Its millions of years old because light takes a while to get from place to place. Some of those stars are dead now. So its like we are all looking into the past. Or... into the future? Its Magick.

Well, not quite. It's physics ... which is for reals science. Well astrology isn't physics, but the phenomena you described certainly is. Looking at a star that's now dead but we still see it isn't magic.
Anyway, when having a serious discussion about astrology, I think it best if we all just assume the vague, newspaper-type astrology isn't the focus. Obviously that stuff is garbage, but 'real' astrology is often reasonably true (as Cyan said earlier).
For it to be "accurate" the astrologer has to take into account the exact time of your birth as well as the birth signs of your parents, among other factors.
I hope people realize that my posts here are... satire? sarcasm? something, I dunno. I don't seriously believe this stuff, I'm just playing Devil's Advocate... thing.

The only useful thing astrology has done is give rise to the legitimate science of astronomy.
Apart from that, it's a nice diversion for people who realize that's all it is. For people who unfortunately think it has some powers of divination, it is a money sink, a source of worry, and something that consumes far too much of their mental and emotional resources.
Perhaps I was too dismissive in my initial response.
I think Astrology has value in much the same way that things like Theosophy and New Criticism have value. It's wonderful as an idle sort of occupation, and can lead to very interesting stuff (though typically by coincidence), but as to whether or not the stars and such rule one's life, the answer, regrettably, is no.
That's more like it.

Then loom'd his streaming majesty From out that wine-dark fog, And spake he unto all our crew: "Go forth, and read my blog."
Well, in reading it it makes you at least think about your situation. Ofcourse there is the Chaos theory. But it states that the more you know, the less accurate the predictions will be. Oh, and ofcourse the sun and the moon have some effect on people (both the words Lunatic and Maniac are etymologicly linked to the moon)
Stars and planets wouldn't have any effect I think. But we scorpio's don't believe in astrology anyways.
Except ofcourse for the day the stars come right and the great old ones will awake from the bondage of the elder gods and will fill the world with death and insanity...
Arkham, the 1920's. Investigators battle horrors from beyond time and space, risking life and sanity while conspiracies of cultists and malign servitors seek gateways for their outer gods to return...
Soon, the stars will be right! Great Cthulhu shall rise!
Well, even as science expands and starts to color everything we interact with, it's good to have a few things that remain basically unsientific and illogical.
I don't pay too much attention to sun or moonrising or birthyear or verious other extrainius gobletygook, but both of my personaliy profiles for chinese and greek astrology are disturbingly accurate. I'll return later with examples and explanations.
