Curse you, Mr. Shiffrin, and your constant TvTropes references!!
I haven't played with Archenemy (and probably never will, since there's only so much hammed-up gloating a person can tolerate before it gets old), but in theory, to combat the perception of some players that the Archenemy is too weak, I like the "Archenemy life = 20*number of players" set-up. It seems fairer, especially as some of the schemes do absolutely nothing if played turn 1.
EDH is a little trickier; use "Archenemy life = 40*number of players", but keep the General damage the same. Five players with two creatures each have five times the damage output, but five players with a general each still need to accumulate 21 points of general damage individually, so they're no better off than working alone in that department. (I suppose that you could face a team of players whose decks are all designed to power-up one guy's general, but in that case you're probably better served by asking these fools why they content themselves with playing second fiddle to some shmuck with a shiny Mythic.)
In all seriousness, I have a question about the "Abandon" trigger for Nature Shields Its Own: "When you become the defending player (stupid PWs) for four or more attacking creatures, abandon this scheme at end of combat." Is this a state trigger? A regular delayed trigger? What happens if I Stifle it?
Wonderful references, but truly your masterstroke is making me realize how sad my life is for understanding all of them. You may have won the battle Mr. Shiffrin, but this is war >:U

"Throw enough goblins at any problem and it should go away. At the very least, there'll be fewer goblins."
Can you explain how the Mindslaver controls all three players turns?
Because Archenemy utilizes the "Shared Team Turns Option", the following rule applies:
805.8. If an effect gives a player an extra turn or adds a phase or step to that player’s turn, that player’s team takes the extra turn, phase, or step. If an effect causes a player to skip a step, phase, or turn, that player’s team does so. If a single effect causes more than one player on the same team to add or skip the same step, phase, or turn, that team adds or skips only that step, phase, or turn. If an effect causes a player to control another player’s turn, the controller of that effect controls the affected player’s team’s turn.
The effect of Mindslaver's abilities gives you control of one of the players for that player's turn, therefore you control the entire team's turn.
Very flavorful but all the autocard tags don't work because the schemes aren't in magiccards.info yet

Even if the author is silenced, the performance is stopped, the story will not end.
Whether it's a comedy or a tragedy, if there is cheering, the story will continue on.

Oh my gosh EPIC! Tons of references, and quite educational. My go-to the next time I play Archenemy!

Love the conan quote to open the Q & A! classic, one of my all time favorites!
well done...very old school
fun fact-it is Arnold's first line in his first Hollywood movie... (17 minutes into film)
for those of you unfamiliar with the movie it was his respose to the question

Not to be a stick in the mud but I look forward to these every week and was disappointed all the questions were either archenemy related or just jokes. I have to wait another week for *hopefully* non-variant questions.
Knowing that Planeswalker Archenemy is viable IS noteworthy, however.

Seeing as ARC was *just* released on Friday and we noted last week that it'd be the Archenemy Special this week... yes, you're being kinda stick-in-the-mud-dy ;P Next week will be back to normal, since it's not a new set's release special.
As another note, we tried EDH Archenemy and 21 general damage from a single general is definitely right, and 80 life might be too high to start with. Further testing is needed!

I wasn't very interested in playing archenemy; but if it allows you to quote slick movies, cackle maniacally, and wear the typical evil genius garb (i.e. lab coat, rubber gloves and goggles. And don't forget the stylish, yet comfortable, shoes) .... I'm in!
Quick question:
If I never submitted a CI question through the mail box, but one of my questions posted on the boards here was used, does that add to Gleemax power drain?
Oh no, did my asking of questions on this forum add to the power drain?
If the power drain is complete, I need to know because I only have a short moment to repent my disasterous...:o
