I was introduced to magic about 4 months ago. As soon as I jumped into the game, I immediately fell in love with it. I've nevertheless feel so attached to a game before.
But then, I went on a shopping spree for cards, spending hundreds of dollars on the best and most expensive cards for edh and standard. I became so addicted. Over the course of time, I spent over 4K but just can't help it. My parents have confiscated my credit cards and now our relationship is in turmoil.
So in your first four months of Magic ever, you spent over a thousand dollars a month (that was apparently not really your money) on it. You clearly have a problem with impulse control, which could be indicative of a clinical issue such as addiction. Please consult a psychological professional if at all possible and, yes, stop buying Magic cards.
Okay, TonyTiger, it sounds like you have some serious impulse control issues that you should speak to a professional about. It's something that tends to go untreated in people with nerdy hobbies where spending a lot of money isn't always something remarked on, but I've seen it really destroy people's lives. To the point where when faced with a choice between food and rent and a collectible they choose the collectible every time.
You need to got back and sell most, if not all of those cards. You should be able to pay back a fairly significant chunk of that money.
