I’m still a magic beginner I typically only play standard so I’m even more of a noob when it comes to pioneer.
Thune and Keranos are two of my favorite cards I was just curious if either have a place in Pioneer, and if it would be worth trying to build decks around then.
Both are powerful cards, but at the moment lack a proper home. Keranos, God of Storms could easily fit into a URx tempo deck or control strategy as a 1 of top end card, but those decks do not exist in the format just yet. Once more cards are banned he could come into play. Archangel Thune has the problem of being a 5 mana card that dies to removal and without Spike Feeder in the format to go infinite she's just not going to be enough.
First off, I’d play what you think is fun and worry about power later. Second, the format isn’t defined yet so it’s entirely possible both of those cards are playable. Mtggoldfish featureD a deck with Archangel of thune today.
I would definitely suggest decks plural as opposed to a single deck housing both of them, though if you can make that work more power to you.
For Keranos, izzet was viable in War of the Spark, so I don’t see why not.
As for Thune, there are a lot of people who hate on life gain. The amount of good lifegain, especially with overlooked cards like Fountain of Renewal and the planeswalker deck exclusive, but still very legal Twinblade Paladin is quite large. Is Serra Avatar legal in pioneer since it was reprinted in M13? Doesn’t matter because Ajani’s Pridemate and Sunbond are. Sunbond a Charmed Stray or the aft mentioned Twinblade Paladin and everything gets crazy. Run a single copy of Felidar Sovereign as if you see fit and of course your group o’ Thune and you should have one fine time.
EDIT:I meant Twinblade Paladin, not Silverblade Paladin. My bad.

Exemplar of Strength is the only card I could find that seems like it works in an almost comboy way with archangel of thune its not really a combo.
