Meteorite 5
Artifact
When Meteorite enters the battlefield, it deals 2 damage to target creature or player. T: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.
Seems decent for colors like Green, Blue, and White which could make use of the colorless burn damage. Burn a player, kill a weenie, or slap a planeswalker.
Incredibly solid card. Good draft pick no matter what your current pool looks like, and a very solid card in Sealed Deck. Probably the best uncommon in the set, as far as Limited purposes go.
It's pretty bad in draft. It would have been very solid at 4 or with 3 damage at 5. But as it is, it will float to the player desperate for removal or to the UR artifact deck. It just costs too much to ramp for most decks and the removal doesn't really kill much by that point.
It's worth noting that this does kill both of the common intimidate creatures and that all of the red removal requires only one colored mana.

It's not the best card ever but it's not bad either.
2 Damage is enough to kill important stuff such as small evasive creatures. In a set were even black have it's wind drake, I'm sure it is a important thing to do.
It's pretty bad. 5-mana ramp this weak is terrible. 5-mana removal this weak is bad. Put them in one package...and it still looks pretty unappealing. Most decks will not want this. I see two exceptions:
- The most likely is a 3+ color controlling deck that is playing for the long game. Here you probably get just enough value to make this worthwhile, as it gets you to your 6+ drops, casts your splash cards, and maybe helps you on the board a little too.
This seems pretty underrated for limited play. I'll be happy to take out my opponent's evasive creature on turn 5, then ramp into my promo/bomb a turn early.
Probably the most flavorful card in a flavor filled set.
It is excellent in Sealed where it provides small evasive/utility creature removal for any color and helps you with the usual 3rd color splashes.
In draft it's only so-so, ideally you'd want to be 3+ colors (maybe 2 with a few off color splashes) and be a slower stalling control/ramp style of deck. Other than that it's pretty much just a 23rd card in a removal light deck.
Incredibly bad in any format except draft, where it's still questionable. Unless you just like to run bad cards to do it.

"I'd say this about guarantees that it won't be up till this Friday, but considering the current track record, the ETA is now probably two weeks after the set has been out."

Not that I think the card is good, which it really isn't for constructed in any form but it could be a fun target for that ghost blinker guy in conspiracy. That's sorta reaching though as formats like that have access to thragtusk at the same cmc.
I do think its a fine draft pick, maybe 3rd or lower.
I played this card in my G/Wu sealed prerelease deck and not 1 time did I draw this card and not have a target for it on board. Chalk me up as someone who likes it in limited formats.

I also like a mana rock that hurts things. Pretty good!
Definitely enjoy the flavor too.
One that hits something from the heavens.
