So, this little beauty shows up and instantly I think its going to be undervalued and easily could form the backbone of a new midrange control build for standard..Thoughts and opinions?
It's a powerful spell, but it needs a bit more on the field. You'll still want field presence, so this would've gone great with, say, Young Pyromancer, but that's not going to be a possibility. It might be better in Modern, actually.

Ya, I really think the ability to give all your spells that extra reach is going to be strong. On one hand making your thoughtseize deal with a blocker/threat preemptively is nice, but making all your removal a bit better on their turn? sign me up. Right now I am testing a RUG and BUG version running almost no creatures (Sagu Mauler mainly) and things like Fated Intervention for some surprise meat and potato's.
Apart from tapping creatures and being an enchantment this is a very different beast than Glare of Subduel (or the original Opposition). Working off the back of spells instead of creatures and costing mana changes things a lot (the fact that they skip the untap step is a nice upgrade though).
I do really like this type of extra value engine and in a creature light deck this could provide a nice source of reusable quasi removal. The big downsides though are it's lack of immediate impact on the board (until you have 5 mana and a 1cc spell this isn't going to be doing anything the turn you use it) and the fact that as an enchantment it's going to be hit by a lot of the splash hatred for enchantments like Courser from Theros block.
I think that Jeskai's going to need a draw engine that can fuel the kinds of plays they want to make. I wonder of Military Intelligence can fill that role.
Unfortunately, the way Jeskai might want to defend itself (with defensive enchantments like this one and Circle of Flame, perhaps) is likely going to eat a bit of collateral enchantment hate.

I like the effect, and I especially like that planeswalkers trigger it, allowing them to help protect themselves for a turn. But I suspect the costs involved, and the overall lack of good cheap ways to trigger it in Standard, probably combine to keep it from seeing competitive play. MAYBE I could see it in a mostly creatureless build, especially one that wants the enchantment in play for some reason.
Its got potential in EDH though, where it could keep a general locked long term and there are a ton of ways to trigger it.
This would be hilarious yet obnoxious with azorius charm still in the format. But even without it, I'd say there's potential. Buying time in the early game is very critical for control now, since this formats wrath costs 1 more than we're used to.
On a note, that artwork is gorgeous, well done Magali Villeneuve!
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
I feel like there are so many cards in this set—including this one—whose power level is completely dependent on there being some cheap cantrips like Opt or the Shadowmoor wisps. I'm unusually excited to see the common dump this time around.
We don't have Young Pyromancer, but we DO have Akroan Crusader. Getting a 1/1 and tapping down a creature from casting Crowds Favor is a pretty cool plan I think.

so if i am that player do i get to sleep with his girlfriend ?
A creature this will fit beside is Frost Lynx. Could even put it in a WU Enchantment shell with Skybind and cheap enchantments for a lockdown deck. Lolz. Blink the Lynx or their lands and lock things down with a 2 for 1. (Enchantment as a spell to trigger Quiet Contemplation, second off Lynx ETB at EOT.)

I also think that Jeskai can keep a high noncreature count via Raise the Alarm and Triplicate Spirits.
Unfortunately, the way Jeskai might want to defend itself (with defensive enchantments like this one and Circle of Flame, perhaps) is likely going to eat a bit of collateral enchantment hate.
