This card has caught my attention from the visual spoiler.
Horizon Chimera
Casting Cost: 2GU
Creature - Chimera
Flash, flying, trample.
Whenever your draw a card, you gain 1 life.
This creature is essentially an improved version of assault zeppelid, in my mind, for its additional abilities over that creature. It may have lower toughness than does the zeppelid, but its additional abilities make it absolutely worth that drawback, in my mind, since blue/green is a color combination that typically has very little life-gaining effects. I do wish that this card had flavor text on it, but perhaps there was so much text on it, already, that WotC decided to forgo flavor text for it. What does everyone else say about this card?

Im not sure how to evaluate this card. its doing lots of things at once, it gains you life for cards drawn , so it makes sphinxes revelation better I guess, but it ussually dies as a surprise blocker. its abilities definitely capture the flavor of a magically created mutant.
probably not standard competitive but a beloved limited guy for sure.

a small sentence for you to read while you ignore my post.
I'm mostly evaluating this as an arguably better Nephalia Seakite with the perk that it may gain you a couple life. It might not be able to block as well, but it will certainly trade better! And if nothing else, it's a 4 life swing each turn.
It also plays fairly well with Evolve creatures - this turn 4 with a cloudfin, shambleshark and crocanura gets you a 3/4 flying, 4/3, 2/4 and 3/2 flying, plus a handful of lifegain. Maybe in a casual evolve deck?
The card is certainly not bulk; he's entering a standard environment with mana drain in his very colors. I could totally see the sphinx's rev decks switching from heavy control to more tempo based with this guy. The life gain here ought to make up for the loss of Thragtusk's life gain (for those decks that only really cared about the life gain). Not to mention Lingering Souls is the most intuitive counter to this card and it's rotating.
Every creature with flash is significantly better than it looks and this one is no different.
With the massive popularity of Magma Jet
I feel like creatures below 3 toughness should not be played unless it's very early or if you gain immediate benefits.

Anyone agree?
Although I guess it's different in limited.
that depends....
you'll not play 2 toughness guys in a deck with only a handful of creatures if targeted red removal becomes too popular, but in a deck with, let's say, 25 creatures, you'll play some that will be in burn range even at high mana costs if they provide value to your strategy.

I would agree if it didn't have flash. If you flash it in at the end of your opponent's turn and they magma jet it, they have 1 for 1'd you, but you untap with them down a burn spell and 2 mana to make it harder to interfere with whatever you do that turn. If they don't kill it, then you gain a life and get to swing with it.
I would have preferred that this creature have been a 2/3, rather than a 3/2, as I typically prefer creatures with high toughness over those with high power, so that it could survive greater dangers than it can now, since it currently can be destroyed by a single shock, while I believe that it should take at least a lightning bolt to destroy it.

I like it because at the end of the turn, I can flash it in when overeager players are tapped out and I'll just sneak it in and then gain 1 and beat you with it. Also, Simic Sneakers would run some form of control. I kinda want to see someone try to Revenge kill it with a Magma Jet.
The looks on their faces when it gets countered will be priceless...

Yeah because playing this and a counter going to be super easy -_-'
Shock and Jet are instant, meaning you will need to have a counter up the moment you play it. Syncopate won't do, so you need 7 mana to dissolve. Doesn't sound plausible or viable.
I forgot to mention that my current blue/green deck has many methods of card drawing (most notably Edric, Spymaster of Trest and Overbeing of Myth), so this card shall be an excellent addition to my deck with its life-gaining ability.

Well of lost dreams .I believe combos with this card well. Use your draw step to trigger then pay as much mana to draw cards.
Yes, that card is an excellent one with which to combine this card, since, unlike Drogskol Reaver, which creates an infinitely-repeating combo that causes its controller to lose the game unless they can disrupt it or have an effect that prevents them from losing, that card allows its controller to stop the combo when they wish to do so or when they have no mana remaining to continue it.

This plus archangel of thune plus fathom mage. Draw step, draw your card, then draw 30 more, put 30 counters on everything and swing. Or sphinx's revelation, since each card triggers chimera seperately you X+1 counters on everything.

That's definitely a pretty cool creature
Or you flash this in in response to your draw step with reaver and lab maniac on the field
Exactly what crossed my mind when I saw this guy, and I already love Zeppelid. Pre-ordered 4x.
He's a decent tempo guy in Constructed but just a total monster in Limited.

Beautiful art. Though I ain't sure if it'll make constructed. If the lifegain was instantaneous, it would be a hit.
4cmc cards usually have to make an immediate impact in standard; I guess it's merely relegated to a good first pick.
