Hey... In the Rumor Mill forum in the Izzet Guildmage section, somebody mentioned how you could go infinite damage with the Izzet Guildmage. If you didn't see it, here is how it works:
(With Izzet Mage already in play and five mana available, 3 of it red)
1. Play Lava Spike w/ Desperate Ritual spliced onto it.
2. With that on the stack, play Desperate Ritual.
3. Use the 3 mana from the Ritual to activate the Guildmage and copy the Lava Spike(w/ Ritual spliced on).
4. Do it as many times as you want, dealing 3 damage and making 3 mana each run.
I built a deck that sets this combo up and executes it as fast as possible.
Here's the list I made
8 Island
8 Mountain
4 (Izzet Dual)
4 Shivan Reef
4 Izzet Guildmage // Obvious
2 Tidings // For when you get stuck
3 Sensei's Divining Top // Help find pieces, great with all this shuffle
3 Telling Time // Dig for pieces
4 Seething Song // Allows you to go off earlier, or with less red sources
4 Lava Spike // Obvious
4 Muddle the Mixture // Transmute into Guildmage or Ritual
4 Dizzy Spell // Transmute into Lava Spike
4 Desperate Ritual //Obvious
4 Izzet Signet // A little needed accel
I goldfished 52 games and here are the turns it went off on:
Turn 3: 1 time (God hand)
Turn 4: 10 times
Turn 5: 20 times
Turn 6: 14 times
Turn 7: 3 times
Turn 8: 1 time
Turn 9: 1 time
Turn 10+: 2 times
Do you guys think this deck could be viable in T2 once GP is out?
btw... I'm new to these forums... so... err... hi.
This thread isn't breaking any forum rules so there's no need to lock it up. It's you that's keeping it alive by posting on it. Every time you post, it's bumped up to the top of the list. If you would let it go and instead bump your own thread, people would most assuredly post on yours. If you refrain from posting on this thread, it wil eventually sink down and be forgotten forever.
