I have tried running this as a creature heavy beatdown deck. It took me to a top 8 at FNM first night played then last FNM it took 2nd place.
If you would prefer to cut the black, I would recommend Voice of Resurgence it would pretty much do the same by giving sweeper protection. Though less interactions from the early drop humans.
