Seems like everywhere you go, it's commander - with very little 60 card multiplayer going on. That being said, I love the community on this board, and have had little success in advice when I've posted in commander.
I would like to build a Necrologia commander deck on the somewhat cheap-- something that makes big flashy plays rather than combos.
That's about all my monoblack multiplayer knowledge at the moment. I would love input on people's favorite cards (hopefully in the 0-$5 range) and pet synergies.
Cheers!
EDIT:
This is for commander, but I don't really have one in mind. Games are typically 4 or 5 man.
What about something like this? This is basically what I would build and play under those constraints. I would still buy a Cabal Coffers even I had to skip a lunch or two but otherwise this seems solid. I haven't bought cards in a long time so let me know if I screwed up on any of the prices. No idea if any of these cards spiked but when I bought them they were all under 5 bucks. I super ultra highly recommend Cabal Coffers even if you have to buy a highly played one for 15 bucks or something. It literally makes the deck twice as good. If you have to cut 3-4 $5.00 cards to add it, do it. Remove them for basic lands/cheap ramp/Nihil Spellbomb/etc. Go ahead and play cards like Wayfarer's Bauble and Armillary Sphere, they're totally fine and Coffers will win you significantly more games than a generic 5 drop value engine like Ob Nox. Otherwise I'll be a sad, sad panda if you exclude it :<.
I love it! This was exactly what I was looking for - make a ton of mana, drop bombs, and draw lots of cards!
What is the way to play Necrologia? You don't get a chance to play any cards - so is it the last card you play / do you want to jam it asap? Do you want to have Reliquary Tower in play first?

There's no special secrets or tech here; 5 mana to draw a ton of cards is great even if you're discarding most of them. Spellbook, Reliquary Tower, Library of Leng and Thought Vessel help but aren't needed. I don't wait until I have one or anything (but I won't complain if I do). I usually just cast it for x=10-15, sculpt a good a hand and fill my GY with goodies for things like Living Death. I didn't include Spellbook/Library of Leng in the deck that I posted but you easily could and they would be great so feel free to add them if you want all 4 "look ma no hand size" cards.
It doesn't have to the first/last card that you play. If you have "good" plays to make, feel free to make those first. That being said don't waste time on marginal plays if it's going to hinder your Sidisi -> Necrologia timing. After all, you don't need to get full value from your spells when you're drawing dozens of extras each game.
Sure, if you want. Of those I prefer reclamation since it's cheap and it's better with Crypt Ghast. That might sound silly but Crypt Ghast is the most important creature in the deck so I typically field spells that work best with it. That being said I prefer fielding cards like Balthor the Defiled, Living Death, Twilight's Call, etc. because they're significantly more relevant post Necrologia.

Do I want something like Phyrexian Reclamation / Whip of Erebos for recovering lost resources?
Thanks for taking the time!
