I am not sure what you're looking for here. Do you want aggro, control or combo?

My playgroup: four people total.
We use the Legacy B&R list.
My meta consists of combo, control and some aggro / midrange decks.
My group uses proxies, so budget is not an issue. Because of this, things can get out of hand.

Sorry it's so vague, I'm uncertain what I want and am open to ideas. I hope this clears up what I am looking for. Big creatures, cards with synergy, squirrels (best day ever is a squirrel token and might of oaks from urza's legacy).
Squirrels are gods to me. I would love to dragonshift an army of the little critters.
p.s. krosan beast is the biggest squirrel I know of but I don't know how to reliably get her threshold..... maybe squirrel mob instead??
p.p.s. not everything in the deck has to be squirrels. I'll definitely throw in my set of squirrel nests, but besides that its all fair game. Im just a little nuts about squirrels (pun!)
If you're set of squirrels, why RUG? Any reason why you'd want those colours?
And how important is ramp to you?
Good question. I suppose the answer to both is, I would be willing to drop U and R, and even ramp. If need be.
The reason why I chose these 3 colors is: I like what they represent in the magic universe. I also don't like what white and black represent.
Ramp was chosen because I enjoy powering out large spells like eternal dominion, primal surge, and especially X-spells like apocalypse hydra or earthquake. But I might not need the mana. Would fast aggro like goblins pose too much of a threat without ramp?
Those are good colors for cascade (though I prefer 5-color cascade myself.) Maelstrom Wanderer is awesome. Needs Shardless Agents, though.
Those cards are a little pricey for me. Bloodbraid elf may be do-able though. Is cascade good? It looks like an underwhelming ability to me, but I have never used it or seen it in play.
Does this need some form of "flicker" effect like astral slide (crappy card example, I know :p) to make the most of it? Or is cascade really worth the 1 shot?

Cascade doesn't work with flicker effects. You have to actually cast the spell.
The RUG version would have Epic Experiment and spells that put creature tokens into play such as Acorn Harvest and Hellion Eruption and whatnot. Anything else seems like it would be lackluster at best. Just play a ton of flashback spells such as Call of the Herd so that you can play normal Magic and grind people out over time. You'll want to play a bare minimum amount of non-instant/sorcery spells.
So you want to play Animar EDH in sixty card magic? If you can't get Living Wish, Gamble is amazing at grabing stuff, letting you play a virtual 8 Animar. Animar combo basically works by playing animar, and then playing lots of cheap cantripy creatures to quickly play the whole deck. Animar acts as the ramp, and it is in RUG colors by default. The deck typically ramps quickly into Soul of the Harvest to draw a bunch of cards so it can play them. The cards in betweem aren't particularly important.
Edit 2: Gamble was a buck last I checked. Living Wish was 10 dollars at the time. They did a price swap while I wasn't looking. The deck needs a tutor for Animar, and I do suggest Living Wish, but any tutor you have access to should suffice.
If you do decide use only creatures, Sages of the Anima is quite good. Make sure you have ways to fetch lands in other ways. But you should already have enough mana to play what you want, at that point.
Only as good as the stuff you're cascading into, which is very good in the right deck. Every cascade card basically has a random cheaper spell stapled to it. It doesn't work well with counterspells, but if you build your deck with cascading in mind it can range from sweet value to broken shenanigans.
Cascade is card advantage, but does demand you build a deck with cards that are relevant most of the time.
And... any cascade spell can hit Hypergenesis.
If you build Hypergenesis right, your threats will be a lot harder to deal with than the rest of the table's.
I built a Hypergenesis deck a while back for FFA use, it was a fun way to make my 3rd turn force everyones' plans pear-shaped. The plan was just using cheap cascade spells like Ardent Plea, Violent outburst etc. into Hyper and then landing whatever fatties from there.
...
I'm interested to hear what your R.U.G decks have been, and how they've worked out. I've researched myself into a standstill; no idea where to go.
Thank you!
p.s. I forgot to mention. Flavor and pretty pictures are key here. No ugly looking cards in my deck please
(ugly ex. stasis, sexy card art ex. mind unbound)
(boring ex. lightning bolt or kalonian tusker, flavorful fun ex. eternal dominion and squirrel nest)

Anything but combo.
Big, nasty creatures like Silvos, Rouge Elemental are good.
Synergy like pyrohemia with darksteel plate or braid of fire are great. squirrel nest and urban burgeoning is another

Sprout Swarm, Jade Mage, squirrel nest and the like.
Just read Quatermain's GW tokens thread: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=547840
Would love to make a R.U.G version

Hoping for a cure, or at least an outbreak.
Level 1 Judge (yay)
Brutalizer Exarch, Deceiver Exarch amd Tormentor Exarch give some options.
Run Flamekin Harbinger can fetch Animar, and also Maelstrom Wandere.

I topped it off with Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre.
Not Squirrel related, but whatever.

This is brilliant!
Still leaving room for Non-elemental cards. This doesn't have to be a tribal deck. Just steamrolling some ideas
I think I have the beginnings of a badass deck...
Thank you for the input everyone, I wasn't expecting this to result.
The Ignus + Animar combo could also fuel some nasty X-spells like Sprout Swarm or Apocalypse Hydra
