While this might not be very original or optimal strategy, I love Paradox Haze and I am trying to abuse it. Before I post a list, there are some cards I want to play no matter what since I've always wanted to try them out.
For protection, I like Energy Field + Wheel of Sun and Moon since I have very few cards going to the graveyard and I want a Wheel anyways since I tend to draw like a madman once the engine gets going.
I am on the fence about Academy Rector. He is annoying because he dies and gets rid of Energy Field and when I have Wheel of Sun and Moon he does nothing. The alternative would be Idyllic Tutor which is a decent card as well but doesn't stop people from attacking me as well as the Rector.
The Decree of Annihilation is a bit random, but if I ever get to 10 mana I can clear everything away except for my enchantments, and if I cast the epic spell, I can still cycle and clear all lands. Seems fine as a one of, but haven't drawn it enough to be conclusive yet.
Replenish is also great in case things go badly, but doesn't work well with Wheel once again.
Magus of the Abyss (great for killing Rector) or Sheoldred, Whispering One seem like shoe-ins. Sheoldred is probably better overall than decree, especially since you can bring back Rector to get more enchantments, and your lack of creatures may make Magus a danger to itself.

Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

Because he's the hero MTGS deserves, and the one it needs right now. So we'll global him. Because he can take it. Because he's not just our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. An expired rascal.

Yup, the Mirror-Sigils are in there. What I am currently unsure about right now are the Academy Rectors. The problem with them is that they go so poorly with Wheel of Sun and Moon and Energy Field.
If I do cut them, I would probably up the number of Hondens, but it doesn't seem right.
Tough spot!
In all honesty i would probably drop Energy Field to 3x instead of going the four full route and throwing in another Honden of Infinite Rage in it's place.
But if you decide to remove the Academy Rector's from the deck try this combination
2x Honden of Infinite Rage
1x Honden of Life's Web
1x Honden of Cleansing Fire
It's all about surviviability till you can drop the Haze's down on yourself.
For the exact reason you listed (survivability), I cannot see myself dropping an Energy Field as they make me essentially immune. Either way, I do feel I need another Honden of Infinite Rage as a relatively low drop.
4x Paradox Haze
1x Honden of Infinite Rage
1x Honden of Cleansing Fire
1x Honden of Night's Reach
1x Honden of Seeing Winds
1x Honden of Life's Web
1x Followed Footsteps
1x Mirror-Sigil Sergeant
2x Enduring Ideal
When you put all this into a deck, here is what I get:
4x Paradox Haze
1x Honden of Infinite Rage
1x Honden of Cleansing Fire
1x Honden of Night's Reach
2x Honden of Seeing Winds
1x Honden of Life's Web
2x Followed Footsteps
2x Mirror-Sigil Sergeant
4x Energy Field
2x Wheel of Sun and Moon
3x Oblivion Ring
Tutors: 8
2x Enduring Ideal
4x Academy Rector
2x Sterling Grove
Random: 3
2x Replenish
1x Decree of Annihilation
4x City of Brass
4x Reflecting Pool
4x Vivid Creek
4x Vivid Meadow
4x Island
6x Plains
