When I first saw Yisan, I figured he wouldn't be good. But I was definitely going to make him anyway, due to my love of bards. I started out just having Yisan grab whatever jank I had in my binder, not giving much thought to how good it was. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how good Yisan can be.
If you can keep him out for 2 turns, he can usually end the game. Of course, this means he's not nearly as competitive as other generals, so this still remains one of my decks for more casual matches.
There are also some pretty decent one-two punch synergies within the deck. For example: Wirewood Symbiote + Elvish Visionary = Decent untap/card draw engine
Damn, I used to own a Hibernation's End! I gave it away in one of the forum holiday exchanges. Ah well.
Wild Pair I'm iffy on. It costs a lot of mana and still needs more afterward to get rolling. I feel like it's a giant removal magnet.
Rings is tied up in another deck, unfortunately. I had Bracers in before, but I was unimpressed. It doesn't ramp up counters, sadly. It just doubles up each drop you get. So it lets you get 2 3-drops or 2 4-drops or whatever. Which always felt underwhelming.
Not sure what you meant by the Soul of the Harvest and Avenger of Zendikar/Hornet Queen "synergy" but I'm going to assume you are thinking you draw cards from the tokens Queen and Avenger generate, which you don't.
I played against a Yisan deck tonight. It did really cool infinite things with stuff like Seeker of Skybreak + Illusioner's Bracers + Priest of Titania for infinite mana, or a similar combo. I think the deck can really be mono-green combo pretty easily. The best part is that the above combo also searches for a bunch of cards out of your deck because after infinite mana you can untap Yisan with Seeker repeatedly.
That sounds really interesting. I've missed having combo decks since I took apart Krenko. Maybe I'll move in that direction, away from this more janky-but-fun build. Any more ideas?

There are also some pretty decent one-two punch synergies within the deck. For example:
Wirewood Symbiote + Elvish Visionary = Decent untap/card draw engine
Predator Ooze + "Devotion Matters" creature = Decent devotion count
Seedborn Muse + Soul of New Phyrexia = Indestructible every turn
Avenger of Zendikar/Hornet Queen + Craterhoof Behemoth = Win
Anyway, that's my build! Let me know what you think!
and like normal I hit enter before I can finish typing...
wild pair also seems like it could be good as you are toolboxing already.
rings of brighthearth and illusionist's bracers would also help you double counters
