I didn't have all the Stax pieces for this thing so instead I went for two of the Enchantments that are very asymmetrical with this lady in play being Eye of the Storm and Dream Halls.
A lot of control some dumb shenanigans with Polymorph being there are only 6 targets in the deck for it, Extra Turns made sense running Eye of the Storm and Dream Halls and Planeswalkers made sense alongside of those spells which built out of the rest of the list with a mountain of control.
The potential upsides of Rest in Peace generally overwhelm the fact that it can turn some parts of the deck off and Spellseeker or Snapcaster are not in here because I wanted to keep the targets down for Polymorphing. I have enough artifacts in the deck which will keep me away from playing Stony Silence and Null Rod.
I'm also assuming that your group doesn't like pure Armageddon effects? In conjunction with Lavinia, it's a nice way to make sure that your opponents can't really cast anything relevant at any time.
I think this is one of the few instances where I would actively recommend Lightning Greaves. I think protecting Lavinia will be important, and Greaves is the best way to do it. I've been thinking about a Control/Voltron list for Lavinia myself and I'll try and post a rough draft of it later.
The main problem that I see is that it's fairly easy to assemble some sort of hard lock with Lavinia in these colors. The main problem is closing out the game once this has been achieved. I like the Polymorph idea a lot, actually, but an equipment theme is probably a more realistic approach since it's better supported in these colors. Blackblade Reforged is probably going to be one of the fastest ways to close a game besides having really cool art.

They don't mind Geddons and there is definitely a version of this deck that makes the most of those effects. I imagine that deck is a harder stax and also much lower to the ground in terms of CMC. I am not running them because I don't like running all the mana rocks so I will let lands live for now who knows if this list even works we will have to wait and see (probably gonna proxy the Commander to play this weekend)
The sword and the boot are cards I had my eyes on and Lightning Greaves will probably sneak in here somewhere.
The reason I wouldn't necessarily run the sword is if this deck is working as intended then every instant and sorcery it casts will result in +1 turns and then the power of my board becomes less important in putting together a victory.
Really great deck (to play with and not against, at least ). From a rules perspective, Lavinia prevents opponents from casting copies of spells as well? Since they're technically free? How would/does that work?

She will only stop anything that says the word cast on it (Isochron Scepter) or the first spell if for example they have a Thousand-Year Storm in play.
There are a lot of decks that live in these cards and I am interested in seeing which one I will end up liking the most.
Rhystic Study was cut and won't end up in the deck ever because it allows opponents to get around Lavinia's second ability, the same is true for cards like Grand Arbiter, Thalia 1.0 and Thorn.

Rhystic Study doesn't make spells more expensive. It just puts a triggered ability onto the stack that says, "Pay 1 or I draw a card." It has nothing to do with actually raising the cost of the spell.

Right I was mistaking when Rhystic Study's tax was applied thanks for reply.

Really like what I see here.
I suppose your dislike for Knowledge Pool extends to Omen Machine as well?
Anyway, Delay is quite a hard counter with Lavinia and Release to the Wind becomes a really flexible answer.

Spell Queller seems awright. I've really loved it in Ephara even without any real action, but it becomes a potential wincon (2 damage in the air) here.
So this thing works (I proxied her and played some games), the problem is the way it is built up there it is a real drag to resolve.
Eye of the Storm is a really silly card when you it also shuts your opponents out of playing instants and sorceries (and when people tend to rely on those to get rid of enchantments)
I am probably not gonna play much more of it because the way to make that list better is adding more ways to sink mana like a Walking Ballista or a token maker
or a Aetherflux Reservoir style of win but I am tired of those right now. I definitely see the potential in her a bunch, the low curve hatebear deck with her in the lead is going to be a mother****er.

Oh and Archaeomancer Ghostly Flicker and Gilded Lotus create infinite Storm as the one infinite combo in the deck.
I do think Rest in Peace is sketchy in the list, nonbo with Academy Rector, Arena Rector, Mistveil Plains, Academy Ruins, Replenish, Mission Briefing, Archaeomancer, Dig Through Time.
The thing with Eye of the Storm is that you can lock games up pretty quick if you back it up with creature, artifact and enchantment hosers, to basically protect Lavinia, Azorius Renegade and Eye of the Storm.

It totally could, I just do not like that card at all.

Yeah she works with all the cards that traditionally lock with Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir because those effects tend to be free spells which she stops.
It is a little more open though because you can still break it with counter-proof spells and Ulamog cast triggers but that is true of most locks.
