SOOOO here's my decklist for a Gruul deck. I was trying to build an anti-ramp/control/toolbox deck (its the meta here ) and came up with this. The idea here is to tactically board-wipe and place aggro on the field (expected to be removed) so that you can end out on top in mid-game...at least that's what I was going for in my head.
So if you respond, please respond to these prompts.
1) Can anti-toolbox/ramp/control be done?
2) Am I doing it right? (right colors, commander, etc)
3) Suggestions
Note: I might do stax as a seperate thing, but I like this idea too
To tell you honestly, this list bites. Run mana rocks then blow-up lands so you won't be screwed unlike your opponents. Utilize more draw and card advantage like Mind's Eye & Garruk, Primal Hunter or this'll run out of steam easily. Birthing Pod & Mimic Vat are good options to spam ETB effects.

My playgroup is all response decks, if I did that, it'd work once or twice, then all my stuff would be blown up permanently. So your idea, honestly, isn't any good.
I'm trying to design a controlled explosion type deck that goes boom on my command, not when I've pumped out enough mana rocks.
versus responsive decks if you're trying to antitoolbox then Land Destruction and cards like Jester's Cap are what you need. Gruul really isn't the best colors to antitoolbox though, black would be, seconded by blue.

Yeah I had a Wrexial Deck, but it lacked power. It was definitely mean, exiling killing and stealing all sorts of stuff but never really won. Maybe I should just look into the old build again.
-1 Frenzied tilling for +1 Mwonvuli Acid-Moss (strictly better, get stomping ground if you want acid-moss to fetch red sources.
-1 Legion loyalist for +1 Sakura-tribe elder
-1 Dual Nature for +1 Beast within (Dual nature is universal, therefore awful. Beast within is incredible.
-1 Fervor for +1 Sarkhan Vol (Significantly better haste enabler with more versatility.)
-1 Natural balance for +1 Anything (Natural balance neuters your ability to ramp. You're in green, you have incredible ramp)
-1 conquering manticore for +1 Molten primordial. (Seems almost strictly better)
-1 vedalken orrery for +1 sol ring (trust me on this one)
-1 Runes of the deus for +1 Stranglehold (you wanted a deck that prevents ramping and toolbox/searching? Stranglehold stops most green ramp spells, solemn simulacrum and many other powerful ramp spells & any toolbox strategy ever.)
-1 word of seizing for +1 Chaos warp or aftershock (I'm not a huge fan of word of seizing. I'd personally rather a versatile removal spell.)
-1 Incendiary command for +1 chaos warp or aftershock (Incendiary command has always left much to be desired for me. I'd rather a versatile removal spell.)
-1 keeper of progenitus for +1 avenger of zendikar (you want to create an anti-ramp deck but you're universally ramping every player? Avenger of zendikar is the best green token producing card, period. Good with skullclamp, kikki, kamahl and a bunch of other cards in your list. A must have.)
A TON of other changes I'd make but the suggestions above are a few obvious ones, I'd also consider survival of the fittest or fauna shaman to get anger online and tutor. I'll include a short list of powerful cards you might want to consider in your colors below
