So I just got home from my first moderd tourney where I played what I called "Bowmanville Zoo" (I have no Tarmogoyfs). I came in 2nd which was much better than I expected to do. I lost round one to the mirror because he got Elspeth down and Gideoned my GIdeoned, and later to Twelvepost because I was one burn spell sy (got him down to 4 with Lightning Helix in hand, went the next four turns without being able to draw another burn spell).
ANyway, the one thing I took away from it all was that I should just be maindecking Flashfreeze. I boarded it in EVERY single time and it was ALWAYS good. Every deck has red and/or green in it in a very big way. THis card should be mainboarded every matchup.

Lacking Tarmogoyfs, my maindeck had a handful of tutorable creatures, which were boarded out for the Flashfreezes. So I guess I would put forward the controversial notion of dropping Goyf for it. His style of vanilla fat is maybe not ideal for the more Catfish style deck? I know that I never really missed having Goyf when playing. As the deck moves more and more from pure aggro, Goyf's vanilla nature makes it less and less ideal.

I came in second as well on friday, beating UR storm, GW aggro and 12 post and losing to pod. Flashfreeze was good against post and storm but is pretty mediocre against a lot of lesser played decks and in the mirror I would also rather have goyf. If you remove goyf you will probably not have enough threats mainboard to have a good all-round matchup against a lot of decks. Flashfreeze is a great sideboard card, but I wouldn't mainboard it, especially over goyf.
Goyf isn't the best creature in the deck, but its consistently solid whereas flashfreeze is either very good or useless.

I gues that's the thing. Flashfreeze was fantastic against EVERY opponent I faced. Mirror? Golden. Kikkitwin? Golden. Post? Golden. Monored Affinity? Still good. Maybe not four of main, but right now, it feels like every major deck, and even most rogue decks, are counting on red and/or green in their plans.

You don't want to run cards than even have a chance of being dead. What happens when you face down Faeries or U/B Control or something? You can't afford to draw dead cards, ever. Side in 4 every match if you want to, but don't risk a dead draw in Game 1. Also, replacing Goyf with it isn't optimal either. Counterspells should replace burn spells or other disruption spells, not lower your threat count.
Check out Spell Pierce or Bant Charm if you want a maindeck counterspell (unless you're already running them).
EDIT: Sometimes it can be a correct meta call choice to run a color-specific card like Flashfreeze, such as at your LGS or whatever. Or, if you really think the times it will be dead will be outweighed by such a powerful effect in Game 1. But at a big event or on a regular basis, I wouldn't risk it.
