Figured some people might like to know that LegitMTG seems to not be so legit. Thats an expensive booth to get yourself kicked out of, blatantly selling bootlegs two booths down from the creators doesn't seem to have been a good idea.
This is why this place is so dead. This is a legit concern about an MTG vendor. Selling bootleg copies of anything leads down the moral road of how long til they buy some chinese bootlegs over off the bootlegmtg reddit and send them out randomly.
Whatever, defend the shop by moving this thread off to some dead forum. <snip> you too osierb18.

While it is certainly concerning that a store would sell bootleg anything, especially if it was knowingly, in this case it was not indeed anything magic the gathering related (even if the store primary deals in magic the gathering related items), and it made logical sense accordingly for how the forums is set up for it to be moved to the other games part of the forums, since the only thing they were caught selling bootlegs of was for a non-magic the gathering game. Moving it to the logical place given how the forums is set up is hardly any sort of defense of that shop, far from it in fact. As it stands anyway the mods moved it again to the market street forum in the store discussions section (the perfect place for store discussion, as I call market street my home on these forums.) Where people who want to check about concerns about buying from certain stores can go to see what issues people have had with them in the past. Now if anyone wants to check on information about the store in question it will be available for all who are interested to look.
Personally I find it more constructive to send a pm to a mod in a calm and respectful manner to ask why something was moved to a place in the forums that I may disagree with, to be able to offer discussion about where better it could be put if the mods believe the original place it was posted was not the best place for it. Anyhow, I think it ended up in the best place for it in the end, so if anyone else runs into any issues with them they can reply to the thread about the store here.
I do thank you for the original post on the subject though, as it is important for all of their customers to know to keep an eye out for potential issues if they were caught selling bootlegs as you say they were. With any luck getting kicked out of Origins will be a wakeup call to the store to not do such things again, and to make sure what they sell is legitimate else they get punished further by the manufacturers and distributors and potentially put out of business as a result.
If you cant tell I think the mod team around here is junk, and Ill say how I feel in public view about the mods. Most of this forum is dead, general and the rumor mill seem to be the only places that get viewed. There are a total of 16 threads that have been active this year at all in this section. Thats 7 months, so about 2 posts a month. 3 of the posts are the same dude. Don't act like this was moved here to get eyes on it. It was moved to put it out of the main view of the site. I also cannot even find the first place my thread was hidden away in to count.
Getting kicked out of Origins is not a cheap **** up either. Two days of sales missed out on, Im sure theres no rebate for the money they put down on it, I would even bet they got charged the 500$ fine for leaving early.

That's the thing though, whether you like the mods or not, at the end of the day this IS the right place for these forums for this post. Its not about views its about where in the logical structure of the forums such a post would go. In this case store discussion in market street is the perfect place for the discussion of concerns about a store, and is indeed where people on these forums will tend to go to look for such information as information for all of the stores that have had concerns or otherwise posted about them are all in one convenient place. And while yes, there may not be a plethora of posts going on in market street these days, there are still plenty of people that keep an eye on it, and I'm sure this thread will still get plenty of views for those interested in the above mentioned store.
Personally I like that these forums are as organized as they are. It makes it a lot easier to find things, especially, as relevant to this topic, posts about what stores to watch out for when buying from them, or selling to them accordingly. I see no evidence that there is a conspiracy to "hide" this thread, or any evidence that the mods are trying to help the store in question by "hiding" the post.
As far as getting kicked out of origins not being a small deal. Of course its not, no one ever said that it wasn't. That's going to be a big knock on their reputation and is going to harm them financially and otherwise going forward. As before, I am glad you posted this information as it will be an important addition to the store discussion part of market street here, and will be available for people who want to check in about the store going forward. As before I only hope that this acts as a wakeup call to the store to get heir act together going forward.
