It's not a card deserving a ban so don't bank on that.
It won't be in an event deck, it's a sole flip card and from a core set at that.
It's not cost effective to reprint flip cards for duel decks either
Jtms also broke standard from pure power level, this card certainly isn't jtms.
Deathrite Shaman did nothing in standard and if you are implying that Deathrite Shaman isn't absurdly strong in Modern you have obviously never played with the card in the format.
My point stands for any type of supplementary product.
Liliana of the Veil was the last 80$ card in standard. In fact, it was 90.
From the looks of it Liliana of the Veil peaked at about $45-$50 during its standard run. Its possible certain online stores or brick and mortar stores may have been asking $80+ for it, but it was definitely readily available in the $40-$50 range at the high end online before it rotated from standard. These days it is certainly up there though, which may be what you are referring to (ie: the most recent standard card that is currently going for $80), whereas I believe in context the other person/people are referencing how high it is/was during its standard run. Either way, you can definitely see what can happen when you have planeswalkers that end up being as good as some can like JTMS, LotV, and now JVP. I rather doubt that JVP will stay that high, but we shall have to wait and see.
I was not trying to compare the two, but trying to state that they are not comparable. Brimaz never really saw play in Abzan lists though. Her synergy with the deck puts her leagues ahead of Brimaz.
Can easily not play Jace. I don't understand why people demand cards like this to win packs from a local game store at fnm. I'ts actually quite sad as the same can be done with a deck that costs a hundred bucks. BW warriors and landfall are decks that are winning and both cost under a hundred. BW warriors is like thirty bucks total. Only reason to own Jace or any other standard card over twenty bucks is if your grinding the GP scene.
I'll never understand the psychology behind MTG price spikes. Some cards are just subject to hype supernovas.
How many decks outside Standard are playing Chandra?
Yes, Chandra is completely unplayable in other formats. Jace is played a bit in other formats, but his real price has come from Standard. People all want to play a deck with Jace and Siege Rhino (or whatever else). Five color manabases and powerful cards are fun and Jace makes it come together.
But I think his point was that everyone is panicking and buying Jace, thinking that's all they can play in Standard, when there are (a few) other choices. I nearly panic bought myself, but it just was too high. I kind of regret not buying them at the beginning of the day at $216 for a play set, but not really because that's a lot for a Modern player to try in Esper Goryo's Gifts.

Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Standard - Mono Red (6-2 and 5-3 in 2 McQ)
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)
I opened Bring to Light in a recent draft and found that the multicolor support really wasn't there for the card to be playable in limited. I get the feeling that it was designed for constructed and I feel it will remain in demand for a while, because kitchen table causal players love to brew five color decks and this card will be too good for most of them to pass up. I expect it to go down as more packs get opened and probably will follow the same price trajectory as Hardened Scales and Obelisk of Urd.
I think Quarantine Field might also see a small price increase as people realize that white has no other catch-all spot removal in this format and a 4 mana oblivion ring is better than no ring at all. The fact that it can serve double duty as a mana sink in the late game is just a bonus. The biggest hurdle it has to overcome is the ubiquity of Dromoka's Command and may not ever see tier 1 play in standard unless Oath of the Gatewatch introduces something that hamstrings the power of the commands in standard.

Chandra is most certainly playable in Modern though it's obviously debatable on how good said deck is. Nevertheless, there are a ton of 1-2cc drops that fuel Chandra in Modern in not only flipping but protecting from removal as your opponent uses all their Lightning Bolts on your Goblin Guides. So "completely unplayable" is far from accurate at least for Modern.
Jace is spiking mostly because he just works so well with every deck type in current standard. You can play him in a deck with 1-5colors and there's a ton of synergy with so many cards. And yes, he's certainly playable in multiple formats but standard is a huge driver right now with just how many decks can utilize him. Is he too high? Probably... but if you actually look at completed listings on eBay his price didn't jump "that" much from the most recent spike.
It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.
And now he's at $30. We can thank SCG for pushing Jeskai Black so hard in their streams.
Den Protector is now $17 as well. It's also worth noting that foil and promo Den Protectors are worth significantly more than the nonfoil copies. Even after the first spike, foils were only like $2-3 above the nonfoil copies. Also Dromoka's Command is gaining back ground after the reprint in the clash pack and is $7 now.
There were a lot of copies of Jeskai Black in the top 8/16 from this past weekend.

Jace not in winning deck $80 sold out.

And there were 28 Jaces in the top 16 and 2 Chandras; sometimes good cards put up strong performances outside of first place.
Zero in the final. You can twist it however you like. Fact is a Jace deck couldn't even win a semi. The price is just ridiculous.
