Hello,
An unopened Magic the Gathering Beta Starter is in my game room on the shelf when I hear that the prices for Alpha/Beta Cards are really high. So after a Google search, The Starter Pack goes to the Bank for safe keeping. Then, I'm asking myself are these prices for real?
What should I do? Sell Sealed? Just keep it in the bank for investment? Open it?
Probably not going to open. I opened plenty back in the day and then sold them back in 1995.
I can't find a starter for sale anywhere, so I'm wondering. What is the real value for a Beta Starter?
In February 2 of them sold on Ebay. 1 for $9000 and the other for $9300.
Probably a good indicator of the market.

Get the biggest bang for your buck... record yourself opening it and post it to Youtube. Another idea (these are off the top of my head), find a Magic personality (either someone online whom is famous, such the Professor from Tolarian Academy or Rudy from Alpha Investments, or anyone famous who partakes in the gaming community i.e. celebrity, athlete, musician, game designer, etc...) to appear in the video. Offer them one common or uncommon card as payment for the appearance. It is a gamble for both of you, but nothing comes out of your pocket (money-wise- you really are not losing much). Their name and following will catapult the video. The viewership may start slow, but snow balls take time to roll into snowmen. The profits from Youtube will make you some cash.
This is a very, Very, VERY large world, so finding someone to attract viewers might be difficult. Another direction then (that can tie back into Youtube) can be to find someone on Twitch that has a large, loyal fan-base who can spread the word. If you can attract a large crowd to a friends Twitch page, you can share in the profits (but make sure you have some sort of written agreement or contract taken care of- no use losing a friendship over a misunderstanding or selfish act).
A third option (also ties into Youtube) is after you open the pack, auction off all singles (minus a common and/or uncommon or two for yourself), donating a certain acceptable percentage to charity or two, w/ links to the video in the description section. Start by auctioning off the lowest value card, then the next highest value card, etc... BUT, for this, be VERY careful. Wear white gloves or the rubber surgical gloves to make sure the cards are as gem-mint as can be when you ship them out. I am betting a slow roll will garnish a lot of attention.
If you do any of the above ideas, bring in other media sources to make as much as you can off of it, such as posting to Instagram or Twitter, or anything else you can think of.
Good luck & keep us informed what you do. Last thought, I really like the idea of auctioning off & giving to a charity that involves gamers [giving back to the community we all belong to]. Last, last thought: watch some videos of others opening Alpha and Beta starter packs to see what tools they use, how they do it, and how they slow-roll the viewing of the cards to draw out the video to at least 10 minutes, but no longer than half an hour.
