trade feedback on sites like this is only valid/relevant for 1 year. They will count trades you did 10 years ago in your feedback score. A lot can happen in 10 years, and honestly nobody cares about your trade record from 2 or more years ago... Sidenote: in that regard, I have a higher feedback than you do...lol
This is very dependent on the situation. A trader who has been constantly active for years with a good reputation? In that case yes, I would say that it certainly would be OK that older references should count as relevant. Someone who traded several years back, quit trading for a long time and then started again is more suspect. It is entirely likely that they may be legit still, but there have been cases where a scammer has hacked into an unused account and ripped people for cards. The bottom line is that older refs are really only good if you have active (positive) trade refs under your belt.
I have been out of online trading for a while now myself to be honest as I am using PucaTrade exclusively at the moment. Perhaps I will go back to online trading again at some point and if do I would have no problem with my trade partner making a statement like that.
A comment like that feels like someone trying to manipulate who sends first, which raises a red flag for me. I've traded online for over a decade (though only here the last year or so), and while the other user has some right to be concerned if you have no recent feedback, that does not seem to be the case here. Reputations are built over time, and discounting that point out of hand is not something I would personally agree to.

^This. I worked for my refs. The last time I traded with someone without any refs using this garbage-ass excuse, I got burned.

Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
If you're trying to simulsend and he has more refs than you it should be his choice.
You just have to pay your dues in a system like this. If you want it faster you can ask if he would send as soon as you give him a tracking #.
If this is a sale post then I'd expect the cash first before sending regardless of refs.
Other than that, if you don't feel comfortable don't trade.
Data for your information if the above question was unclear. I have more refs. He believes they are not as recent as his and is manipulating who sends first. Others on here have gotten burned.
Use an escrow service (1 of the mods in MTG?) If he doesn't want it, avoid avoid avoid. Like people says, the guy is trying to get to you to send first when he should which is a huge red flag.

To be fair, the full story of it is:
>We agreed to trade at the same time (him with the dumb excuse)
>My end gets to him with no problem
>He doesn't send with tracking and all of a sudden it never shows up. For weeks on weeks on weeks.
>I try contacting him the first time.
>He responds and asks me to keep waiting. I wait longer (for over a month now), then I tell him again that it never showed up. Then he doesn't respond to any of my messages for another set of weeks. I was patient too; I tried to only send maybe one reminder message every 5-7 days.
>Then I'm forced to bring in the mods, and all of a sudden he starts responding again. Apparently the cards got lost in the mail. We agree to compensation, but he doesn't want to pay the full amount. I just settle for about maybe less than 2/3 the value of the cards I lost, because at this point I just want it to be over with.
In then end, even though I "got" some money out of it, I'm down cards and value. And hell, I even lost a bit of money too, since some of the cards I was supposed to get, I was forced to go out of my way and purchase (I had to, unless I didn't want to finish my deck(s) before the events).
Tl;dr: So, the fact that he responded probably means that it's unlikely he's a ripper. And he payed so there's that too. He had no refs on this site. Sure, it could've been garbage luck for the both of us. Thing is though, I always find it kind of convenient that the low-ref/no-ref trades always cause BS problems like this. I've traded with higher ref'd traders before with much bigger and more valuable piles on both sides before without any problems. I'm always the one sending first on these trades as well. Not a single problem.
I think the only redeeming argument about the "no recent trades," is if the user hasn't traded with anyone recently AND hasn't been online in years AND the trade offer seems a little too good. Now that could be bait; I've gotten ripped like that as well.
