I wonder if Wizards took a vote/poll on getting rid of the reserved list, or keeping it intact, how the results would turn out.
After the Mox Diamond/Masticore thing the Magic website (dailymtg at the time) published an article asking if they should keep the "exception" or get rid of it and asking for feedback. The dailymtg community forum had a thread on it and just about everybody in the thread said keep the exception or get rid of the reserved list entirely, it was like 2% of people said to keep the reserve list and no premium reprints. Wizards then claimed that the response was "overwhelming" to get rid of the premium exception and did so.

I can assure you that lawyers are a risk-adverse lot. It's in counsel's best interest to identify all of the worst-case scenarios so that a business owner can properly weight the opportunity cost and expected value of taking action.
"If we break the Reserve list, we will make players happy and make tons of money."
"Okay, but here's a non-negligible down side to doing that."
"Oh. I guess we have 100,000,000xinfinity other ways to make players happy and make tons of money. Okay, nevermind."
Hope y'all got your high tide staples already. Meditate is currently $17 tcg mid. Last week i got a playset on puca for about 275 each. Surely a reaction to eternal masters since it's on the reserved list.

Weird to see Meditate moving while Time Spiral, the centerpiece of the deck, hasn't budged at all. Granted Meditate is also played in Stasis, but you know, Stasis.

Actually, it has moved. It's been trending upward the last few days.
I'm just a little surprised to see High Tide staples get bought out. I suppose the deck is positioned well relative to Eternal Masters, because it uses FoW and laughs at Wasteland. It's also a "budget" Legacy deck. But if High Tide staples start getting bought out, the price of Candelabra of Tawnos is going to go through the roof.
I also question High Tide's competitiveness at the moment. It's probably better positioned now than it was during the Treasure Cruise/Dig Through Time era (because those cards helped other decks more than they helped High Tide), but High Tide will have a terrible matchup against Eldrazi Stompy, and I think that's going to become the flavor of the week once something gets banned in Modern.
Playing millions of cards every turn... Slowly and systematically obliterating any chance my opponent has of winning... Clicking the multitude of locking mechanisms into place... Not even trying to win myself until turn 10+ once I have nigh absolute control... Watching my opponent desperately trying to navigate the labyrinthine prison that I've constructed... Seeing the light of hope fade and ultimately extinguished in an excruciatingly slow manner... THAT'S fun Magic.
We have 2-3 users that are dramatically making this thread incomprehensible and non-productive for anyone else to possibly join in the discussion. This needs to change.
Every time I see [ktkenshinx] post in here, I get the impression of a stern dad walking in on a bunch of kids trying to do something dumb and just shaking his head in disappointment.
Near Mint: The same as Slightly Played, but we threw some Altoids in the box we stored it in to cover up the scent of dead mice. Slightly Played: The base condition for all MTG cards. This card looks OK, but there’s one minor annoying ding in it that will always irritate and distract you whenever you draw it. Moderately Played: This card looks like it survived the Tet Offensive tucked inside the waistband of GI underwear. It may smell like it, too. Heavily Played: This card looks like the remains of Mohammed Atta’s passport after 9/11. It may be playable if you double-sleeve it to stop the chunks from falling out. The condition formerly known as "Washing Machine Grade" Damaged: This card is the unfortunate victim of a Mirrorweave/March of the Machines/Chaos Confetti/Mindslaver combo.
[M]aking counterfeit cards is the absolute height of dishonesty. Ask yourself this question: Since most people...are totally cool with the use of proxies...what purpose do [high] quality counterfeit cards serve?

Would anyone here seriously buy a City of Traitors at $175? It's been a $60 card for years and the announcement of a set is not going to change the real demand for it.

Another issue is MUD 2.0 (Eldrazi version) is creating some demand for this card as well so they can run 14-16 Sol lands. I expected a price increase but not 2-3x as much...

You could snipe City of Traitors on eBay all day for half that (~$30) for the last couple of years.
The answer is it depends on the demand for Legacy. IF the tournament scene picks up again after Eternal Masters, sure. But with the lack of Legacy support lately, it seems more likely that the spike will fade and most if not all of these cards will cool off quite a bit.
It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.
One card that I think is due for a move is Moat. Its price hasn't gone up in a very, very long time (last time it spiked it was during the DGM release craze nearly 3 years ago, and it wasn't by much either), and it's certainly not a rare card to see being played in competitive decks. Other than Enchantress, it sees play in places like Miracles, Stoneblade and Parfait-style control decks. At least I definitely think it's more common than stuff like Aluren and Tme Spiral.
I used to see moat played fairly often in EDH, but haven't seen a single copy in years. I do see Humility and Peacekeeper, though. I don't think much of the price is because of EDH.
Mana Vault seems to be on the rise. My explanation is that ill-informed people think it's on the Reserved List.

City of Traitors is a reserved list powerhouse Legacy staple. How is this any different than people paying $175.00 for Caea's Cradle? City is a must have in Sneak Show, Painter, and Stompy builds (including Eldrazis).

This! Every Modern player and their dog is (rightfully) worried that their Eldrazi deck will soon be banned out. With Eldrazi Shops expected to be competitive in Legacy, these Modern players only need Tomb & City to break into Legacy with a tier one deck. City is the financial linchpin of this deck; especially for somebody porting it over from Modern.

I would imagine most Zada EDH lists run it, but by and large they're picking up the twelve cent white-border versions.

Yep, I bought a couple for the format about a month ago. Even then it felt like they were getting a little scarce.

Eh, probably not. Players create formats to play more cheaply. Then El Speculato hear about it and plunge in in the hopes of striking it rich.
