there was enough to draft it from when it was released to right before magic origins on a regular basis...and then some. There was the combination of people not wanting to just buy boxes to sit on and a larger print run that made this possible (maybe 2-3 times that of the original modern masters...discounting the 4 GPs that used the product).

I am looking for Date Stamped promos from Khans of Tarkir block so I can finish my set. Check my wants if you have any.
Currently offering 2 non-foil Kolighan's Command for a Date Stamped foil!
It was a fair amount bigger, while demand remained relatively constant due to the new MSRP price of the pack (ironically, if it was the same as before the MSRP product would have sold immediately, so it would have increased demand for the remainder). The sealed product isn't available from distributors; just many stores, mine included, got as much product as possible to have it in stock for as long as possible. I'd think by the end of the year it's going to be fairly hard to find.
It doesn't matter how much there is because there is a huge discrepancy between the MSRP and value of the packs. When this is the case, people directly buy the staples instead of crack packs, which leads to lots of surplus packs. That's why you see it available everywhere. Everyone ends up unhappy except for Wizards, who has already made their money off selling to distributors. The print run could be infinite and it wouldn't matter.
Man, what a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation for wizards and retailers. Hopefully wizards just squares the circle and releases future modern masters product at regular expansion prices. That way they make their sales, retailers are able to receive and move product, fans can get it at affordable prices. The limited print run + high msrp seems like a losing proposition, especially if the MM set's $/rarity distribution is as deformed as MM2's.
(I get the impression that early MM2 card configurations were a lot more aggressive and full of chase cards, but successive development phases eventually whittled the card pool down to crap like daybreak coronet with no enchantment or boggle support, or splinter twin without any combo or great etb-creature support)

Amusingly enough, though, those are two of the better (which just means non-junk) opens in MM2. I had two Twins in my last pool, and didn't end up running either one because I had nothing worth copying (not even a decently-sized beatstick), even though I tried to build around them. I think that it may be so that people have to make hard choices between "Value cards" and "Cards which will make the final 40". Personally, I think that was the wrong move, especially with the increased MSRP.

Along with many mods, I've moved shop over to MTGNexus. Come check us out!
It totally failed on the fact of the MRSP. Why should people pay nearly twice MSRP for a MM set that does not even have the same value as the first MM set?
It totally failed in the completely lackluster money there was in the commons and uncommons. Why was path to exile and lightning helix not reprinted? There can never be too many paths in existence. In the first MM you did not mind getting a Greater Gargadon for your rare when you got a path to exile as an uncommon and a lava spike for your foil.
MM 2015 has more of those feel bad rares, less of those uncommons and commons that make up for it and to top it off a 60 percent spike in MRSP. Why would you want such a product?

That's a really good way of summing up the problems with the set. MM1 had a bunch more "midrange" rares, and a lot more "high end" uncommons. I think that there were really only two rares in MM1 (Earwig Squad and Molten Disaster) that made me cringe when I thought about opening them, and Molten Disaster was at least a house in draft.

Could they also maybe not have found a cycle of rares that where great for limited and had good casual appeal as well? Maybe the Titan cycle or something similar to the Champions of Kamigawa dragons they had in the first one. And why oh why where there no cycle of duals in it? It would have take on one cycle of filter lands and the set would have been much better.
I opened more of the product than I care to admit but I did have decent luck as long as I was opening sealed boxes. Every single loose pack I cracked from a shop had jank (around 12 packs or so). Looking at what I spent and what I have in my binders leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Should have just bought singles. That being said I did get a repack box off eBay that had all the rares, foils, and even 2 mythics for $40 shipped and drafted it with friends. $5 each for several hours of fun was totally worth it even if the most expensive card in the box was Tezzeret

All of the stores I go to got about 3x as much MM2015 product compared to the original Modern Masters (one of them is one of the largest stores in the country.) I'd say 3x seems like a pretty good estimate.

Singles supply seems plentiful but prices on the staples haven't moved much in recent weeks.
Just how much product is out there is the question.

"Personally I love high-riak, low-reqars gambles. Life's best with a decent amount of riak. And f*** reqars."

Perhaps not in terms of sales but in terms of consumer confidence for sure.
So singles prices will continue to stay high because anybody burdened with having to open a box has to recover MSRP or something close to it.
Not as bad for consumer confidence as worrying that your cards will become valueless overnight, which is what it sure seems like you want.

Verdeloth the Ancient and Auriok Salvagers where pretty bad as well.
